I love this great old song and the arrangement as well--beautifully performed and a treat for the ears and heart!
I had a rather unforgettable experience at Harmony University this summer when I came out of Beaman (the ice cream building) and was stopped in my tracks by the sound from a quartet singing on the steps. It was a group of master quartetters--Drew Wheaton, Kyle Kitzmiller, and two others whom I cannot now recall, but whose faces I had no doubt seen at the quartet finals in Nashville two weeks prior. These four gentlemen proceeded to sing a ballad whose beauty was as cosmic as its lyrics. Every person nearby found themselves drawn toward the singers and listened in silent reverence as they finished the last wordless chords. And in that moment, with the last traces of the music fading into the background drone of cicadas and crickets, all of us shared the feeling that we were indeed lost in the stars. It is a barbershop memory that I shall carry to my dying day. Thank you for giving me a chance to relive that feeling.
I love Barbershop songs about God
This is beyond amazing.
Holy freaking tenors!!
The first time I went to a Sweet Adeline guest night, years ago now, they sang this song, same version, and I had chills and goodies galore. I then knew I had to join this wonderful chorus and I am so glad I did. I have wonderful memories of those years.. a wonderful hobby. And thanks for this song fellas, took me back in time.
This is one of my favorite songs in our rep but we never sing it anymore. Beautiful rendition gentlemen!
What a beautiful balance of harmony!
sweet, simple but oh so good!
I would love to have this on CD!!
Wow Wonderful love it
wow!!💕🎶🎧
Wow great performance, BTW - I sing with the Baylanders in Green Bay, WI
I have covid I lost one bff to it
Is that Jackson from Newfangled Four I see in the back row? :)
it sure is. I have been a member of Westminster for about nine years now. In fact, all four members of NF4 have been members of Westminster at some point.
"4 Renegades" arrangement?
RIP227 Yep. The Honorable Warren "Buzz" Haeger, arranger extraordinaire. West Towns Chorus has had this arrangement in our repertoire for ... well since Buzz taught us the song.
+Jay Elliott Pacificaires as well. Rudy Wissler gave a stunning lead with this arrangement. Tremendous!
conductor certainly plays with the tempo, must be his own arrangement!
The arrangement was by the incomparable 'Buzz' Haegar, Tenor of the 'Four Renegades', and one heck of an arranger. RIP
I notice one of your singers has his cap on in the church sanctuary. It shows respect for God's House for a man to remove his hat. Just a gentle reminder.
wtb61 Maybe he doesn't believe in God?
pman5595 Maybe it doesn't matter if he believes or not? Maybe it's about respect for a holy building of a religion?
***** Westminster Beat Down! Yeah, I do agree. Faithful or not, remove the lid in His house. People with "couth" do that.
wtb61 More to the point....he should remove his cap in respect of his Musical Director, even if they were rehearsing in a barn.
+wtb61 what a troll comment. How about they were just using the Chuch to rehearse... if this is the only thing you noticed about this video you need therapy.... all that dust on the highway must drive you crazy...
Easy tenors..lol
VERY disappointing arrangement for such a stunning choir . :(
WTF ARE U TALKING ABOUT?!! (Srry for replying 3 or 4 years later)
This is the standard barbershop arrangement.
