Joint night air and ground assault - Talisman Sabre 2021

- Soldiers from the ADF, U.S. Marines, Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force, and Royal Marine Commandos participated in a combined joint night-time air and ground operation in Bowen, Queensland as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre 2021 (TS21).
The fictitious exercise saw U.S. Marine Corps arrive in Ospreys to launch a ground assault on Bowen airfield, while soldiers from the ADF, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and Royal Marines fought alongside each other during a night-time raid on an abandoned coal processing facility, before clearing the Bowen showground.
Held every two years, TS21 is the largest bilateral training activity between Australia and the United States, aimed to test Australian interoperability with the United States and other participating forces in complex warfighting scenarios. In addition to the United States, TS21 involves participating forces from Canada, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

I so wish I had a set of desert bunny cams. I was in Army Cadets when the first generation cams came out. Now I am nowhere near cadet age anymore, but like having my cammo pants and hats to wear around. Due to health reasons, I couldn't do what these guys do, but I almost made it, even with kyphosis and a dodgy hip. I did extremely well on the test. Thanks diggers for doing what you do best.

Actually Joking aside Thanks for your service and for keeping us safe in this crazy world with Totalitarian regimes maneuvering in the seas to our north. It would be naive to think that we would be left in Peace and freedom without an ADF.
No one is an advocate of War but to believe other's are not is very prudent.

To our political leaders. China is a real and present danger. We need to drastically increase our defensive capabilities. Not just the military, there is a very real supply chain risk for critical items such as fuel and pharmaceuticals. We need to be taking mitigation actions now.
Couldn’t agree more. We need to boost defence spending to 4% of GDP, focus on area denial systems like fighter planes and submarines to make sure they can’t land here, and also consider Nukes. Only then will we be self-sufficient from a defence perspective
