  • We compare a whisker biscuit to a Drop away rest in speed.
We setup the Lockfire rest on the new PSE Xpedite compound bow.

Jesus Steven, you get drop in's from everywhere!
I thought for sure I'd be your farthest drop in this week, driving 700+km from Warrnambool in Western Victoria.
A big thanks to your team for all the help I was given on Tuesday & the friendly chat as well.
I took the Oneida Phoenix out for its first shoot today, however a big SoB of a Brown Snake came and interrupted my shoot after only 18 arrows. So you'll have to wait a bit longer for my feedback. That said I was pretty much grinning during my outdoor shoot until the Big Brown Snake appeared, so assume its going to be very favourable!

Yes we do. It amazes me. Every week we have customers from at least two other States. People from overseas drop in too. Hope the bow is shooting well for you.

LOL I love what you say about reading instructions. So true! More men should be as honest as you are, we ladies would appreciate it greatly.

Very informative. I'll stick to the whisker biscuit. Thank you for sharing.

BTW the adjustment on the side doesn't adjust the speed, it adjusts the cushion stop inside the rest. Its best not to force the rest
down by pushing it down, instead push the hammer inside the slit the string comes out of. Great rest.

Thanks, you answered my main question. I really like a whisker biscuit but everyone here seems to be very condescending about them.

I don't think it's so much about speed as it is about minor deflections with contact rests. To explain, minor imperfections in shot execution are more likely to be amplified by bristles on not only Whisker Biscuits, but also containment rests with small brushes that contact or barely contact the arrow shaft until the fletching passes the rest. I was a bit put off with mechanical drop away rests for fear of breakdowns in the field or at a shooting event. But after shooting my first drop away rest, getting consistently more successful and accurate shots, I quickly learned how to manage drop away rests not only in the shop, but also in the field. Needless to say, drop away rests are on all of my bows...

I have the Truglo Lock Fire on my Diamond Edge SB-1 and it works fine for me. It's my first drop away rest and I took a chance on it since there weren't many reviews on it. But it works fine for me. I cant compare it to the more popular rests since I havent tried them. But I'm sure the Lock Fire can compete with them. Bass Pro shop sells them for about $79.99 so you spend a little less money and get a rest that works just as good im sure. Also they come with other color options for the drop down piece. I plan on putting one on my Reign 7

OMG! And I was majorly concerned over a misfire of an arrow! I don't know what I would do if I dropped a bow!

I have other TruGlo drop away rest, but when i shot, it is quite big noise. Big snap sound. Is that more silence?

Also the rest wont go up more then it is when in the up position even though you can push it up a bit more. So set nock point with it in the natural up position.

Random question here, but why did we, as an archery community, give up on the over-draw?

Hello in regards to your Truglo lockfire Drop away rest on the xpedite could you get it set true to the rest mounting threaded hole, as I have a ripcord red which at its lowest point is 1/4 of an inch to high and so I cannot sight my 20 pin in as the fletch hit the bottom of the sight.

Does it offer a way to adjust the cord length at the rest like the qad does. I don't like using clamps. I tie my cords into my cable then adjust timing by loosening bolt and adjusting cord at the rest. Can you do that with this rest?

What do you think of the HHA virtus rest? Have you shot one? They look really good. I have one ordered from my local shop

Try a little forethought and "simple Observation" instead of chasing the the cable-lock all around the cable"! **Just Adjust The Tie-in STRING" Duhh

Takes 10 minutes and a long story just to liberate the product from the shrink wrap package. 1 minute to install. Lol

Archery Supplies . Oh man . Brutal. Might be ok for individual but to spend that setup time in a pro shop is not profitable. I'm a family run Canadian startup with a new sight...would love to get one down under to you for critique. Love your videos. The un-edited format is great because it's so real and honest. Keep those vids coming.. Might have to get myself a new PSE after watching your review. Cheers.
