An affordable hair care routine would be amazing. I love that you always recommend a wide price range of products! Keep them coming.
I second this!!! 💕💕
Will absolutely do this!
🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
I agree!! I would do appreciate that video from you!
Would love it too
Yes, I would love to see an affordable hair care routine using only affordable hair care. Thanks!
Will definitely be doing this!
🏎️サイキックフィーバー🇯🇵TV🗺️
It would be really great if you could compare the ingredients lists of drugstore and high end products such as conditioners and masks, and explain what makes a product cosmetically elegant vs basic ingredient wise, it would really help us to understand why exactly drugstore products are just not comparable to high end ones 💕
That’s a great idea! I bought the Purology shampoo and conditioner but developed an allergy to it after a couple of times, had to give it away
Lab Muffin beauty science actually explained in an instagram video that there is no real difference when it comes to the quality of most ingredients in drug store and high end products. It is more the kind of ingredients used and the formula itself.
@@ducklingscap897 the beauty brains podcast talks about this all the time too.
I love this comment. I talk to the guy who does my hair and he says high end lines like kerastase have higher end ingredients even if its one that is “taboo” atm its still a better quality compared to maybe a drugstore brand. I would love to know more about this and no matter the research I do, I can not figure it out!
They mostly have the same ingredients and quality of ingredients to be honest haha so... not really much of a comparison. If anything, drugstore products sometimes have more fragrance perhaps. But thats it and it's not a rule
Yes another separate video for routines would be so great!
Will do this 😊
are you able to do a part 2 including heat styling tools? ive read that people should invest in a salon quality blow dryer, high quality brushes, dyson airwrap, etc but some of it don't seem worth and im wondering if im ruining my hair in the long run. loved the video💕💕
Will add to my list! ❤️
Yes me too! I would also be so excited to see an affordable hair car routine! Thank you so much for making this video
Loveeeeeeed this one Abbey. Thank you for always keeping it 100%. 🖤
Def need the dry conditioner category and more products! Dry conditioner on lengths and ends for dry hair is a game changer.
Routine please!
I started watching you and trying your hair care routine and thank you for changing my life!!! 10 years ago my hair changed after a hysterectomy. It has been a frustration until now. Thank you!
I'd love this concept applied to skin care and make up! This is such a helpful video
Always love your recommendations. Thank you!
Yes please an affordable hair care routine, and products. Drugstore options would be amazing ❤
Thanks for always putting out content with lots of information!
I have to tell you, this past wash day was the first time I tried a me version of your wash day routine (thick, frizz-prone, wavy/curly hair). Overnight oil, micellar shampoo, a low pH moisturizing shampoo, hair mask , conditioner, and a leave-in. I cannot stop running my fingers through my hair! It's never felt so great. It even *sounds* better. The pre-wash oil definitely showed me how damaged my ends were, since even with oil in it, the ends still looked dry and separated where the rest of my hair curled a little. Can't wait to continue this routine and see how my hair does. Thanks!
Omg yayyy I’m so happy to hear this 😍
@@AbbeyYung Never read so many hair care ingredient labels in my life. 😄
hi! can you share which products and order in which u used?? we have the same hair type!
@@ninjaturtles12121 It's long, and it's mostly what Abbey says, but sure! Everything is drugstore or Amazon.
1) Oil, showercap overnight. African Pride Moisture Miracle Oil. Starts with coconut oil and has a million more oils, plus some Vitamin E. Cheap, lol.
2) Micellar Shampoo. L'Oreal Elvive for "curly to coily" hair. Gets rid of most of the oil gently.
3) Hydrating, low pH shampoo. Herbal Essences Argan Oil of Morocco. Not the best ingredients so this may get replaced but was high on several low pH/pH balanced lists. Use only a dab, even w/long hair like mine!
4) Squeeze the water out. Then hair mask. SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil. I stepped out of the tub for 10 minutes to let it sit.
5) Rinse and squeeze the water out again. Conditioner. Renpure Coconut Cream Nourishing Conditioner.
6) Used a microfiber hair wrap to get most of the water out, applied Maui Moisture Hair Care Curl Quench + Coconut Oil.
The only thing that took me a little aback was I didn't get a lot of "slip". But there is no doubt my hair is hugely improved, soft, LOW FRIZZ!! even with today's rain.
@@jessakent2049 wow massive thank you!! the only one I've used is the SM mask. I've always used mask in lieu of conditioner but then I found this channel I didn't know ppl used mask AND conditioner. Im experimenting with using lamellar water and then mask. I'm trying the L'oreal 8 sec miracle wonder water. Saw massive difference and lot of slip to detangle when using that + the SM mask after so maybe double conditioning works and I should give it a shot. I am having trouble finding low pH drugstore shampoos will def be looking into the ones you suggested. thank you v much again! I need to do the oil pre shampoo more but I hate the ogx one she suggests I find my hair is never "clean" after. will def try the one u suggested thanks!
I have been wanting a video like this since you started posting hair shorts! Thank you!!!
Of course! Thanks for watching ❤️
I’ve noticed that the affordable brands who do hair masks well are usually a subsidiary or sister company of a larger company that has their own higher end hair care lines. L’Oréal owning both drugstore and salon brands, Eva NYC being the sister company of Amika, etc.
Yes please!! i would love to see an affordable hair care routine :D
I was just thinking about this specific subject today while washing my hair! Thank you Abbey! Also, I would really appreciate the affordable hair care routine 🙏🏻

A nice haircare routine, Abbey!❤❤
Love your videos Abbey! The Pureology leave in spray has changed my life, I have purchased other leave in conditioners and such since (out of curiosity) but nothing compares to the Pureology spray with all of its benefits. Definetly worth the money!
This was an awesome video!
Love this video concept!! And SO true about spray leave-in’s being splurge worthy vs. creams!! Every single drugstore spray leave in I’ve tried made my hair horrible, I thought they were all like that. B&B’s Invisible Oil Leave In completely changed the game. My hair feels like silk and smells INCREDIBLE with that product. I have manyyy creams that I love that are high end and worth it to me, but it’s so much easier to find amazing drugstore ones. Odele’s cream leave-in for example- mind blowing. Everyone needs to try it.
As for the oils, I agree it’s not necessary to splurge on them but I’m sorry, I cannot live without my OUAI hair oil 😭 and with what little I use each time, I don’t feel as guilty lol
Anything about drugstore is great. & This is amazing. Thanks Abbey!!!
Oooof! Yes I would also love a splurge & save for skin care!
hi Abbey, great video yet again! would you also do one for skincare and makeup??

Perfect timing - I’ve been binge watching the Blowout Guy’s videos but affordable options are needed!
Thanks for watching!
I've been watching his videos too! Love that he recommends such a streamlined routine.
Compare ingredient list in Redken Volume Injection to Loreal Elvive Volume Fill Thickening. (L'Oreal owns Redken).
Compare ingredient list of the Pureology leave in to Loreal Everpure leave in. (L'Oreal owns Pureology)
Closest thing I can find to the Redken big blowout is the ingredient list of both L'Oreal blow dry it cream and spray...I am going to try mixing them.
Hey Abbey! I would love to know how you refresh your hair through the week after exercise/ daily living. I love a good dry shampoo but sometimes I feel like I’m not making the most of it and my hair doesn’t look as fresh between washing due to sweat and oil. Any tips on how your hair looks so great through the week would be appreciated! Love your videos and I truly appreciate all the hard work/ research you put into them. You are my go-to!
Will add it to my list to make an updated video on this! Thanks for watching ❤️
Pacifica and Sun Bum make my favorite drugstore conditioners and masks. Pacifica's Vegan Silk line as a whole is fantastic!
Thank you Abbey you helped me confirm what I was thinking. I have curly hair and was doing all curlsmith products and started thinking where can I save. Saved on the shampoo, stopped conditioner, do just hair mask, working for me. Now you confirmed I picked the correct products to save on.
Yes yes yes yes 🙌 I'm so excited for this 😍
Ok, first of all I LOVED the video! Great work Abbey! Video ideas: I'd like to see your full drugstore routine you mentioned AND a full high end routine. Also I'd love to see a video where you discussed products that didn't work for your hair type BUT you still felt like they were great products. I have a thicker/coarser hair type so I sometimes try products that fine haired individuals don't like because they often work well for me.
🏎️サイキックフィーバー🇯🇵🛩️🗺️🇯🇵
Have you ever done a video on primers? Or preparing a face for makeup? I can’t wear chemical sunscreens on my face because they hurt my eyes SO badly, but I haven’t found a mineral sunscreen that looks good under foundation. I’d love it if you made a video on the best non-sunscreen primers for diff skin types and the best sunscreen primers for diff skin types!
I'm of the opinion of rotating between high-end and drugstore options across all categories! It's what has worked best for me to have the best of both worlds
Hi Abbey!! Could you please make a review of various keratin straightening treatments please 💐💐💐 thank you !
Great video!
Great information, very helpful! Thanks
Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks a lot, very interesting!
Could you do a video on change of hair care routine when the seasons changes? I for example suffer a lot in winter because of dry scalp which is not an issue at all in summer....
Abbey- would love to hear your thoughts (and possibly a review) on the new youthforia primer 🤔
I would love to see you delve into some hair products from Sally Beauty Supply as I’m always curious about those. Especially the Aphogee line (because low PH) and there’s a new brand ‘bondbar’ that looks like it’s trying to be an olaplex dupe.
Idk if you’ve made one already but I really would love some suggestions for fine hair!
Thank you so much!!!!!!❤
You should try wella’s fusionplex silksteel it’s amazinggg and by far my favorite shampoo conditioner and mask out of the many I’ve tried!! My hair is super fine and fragile and my hair has transformed after using this. I’m trying to grow out my damaged hair and it’s been over a year now with basically no heat, no coloring, good products, and gentle combing. My hair is coming in sooo much healthier with less breakage BUT I’m still waiting for it to get longggg!!!!!
The verb ghost oil is my favorite!
I really love the Garnier hair masks, specially the aloe vera one but I've tried almost all. I felt like they work really good and sometimes even better than the epensive ones I've gotten
I know you recommend saving when it comes to leave in oils, but I tried JVN’s nourishing shine drops and I was hooked. 😭 it’s just so good! I hate it that I love it haha
Love your knowledge and videos. Can you do a dedicated video on Mabel and fable? They are amazing and would love your thoughts.
Hi, Abbey! I just wanted you to know, I followed your suggestions & I can't believe the results so far! Il ove K18, OGX coconut oil, all of it. I know you shouldn't notice results the 1st time, But I am! TY for your help! SO APPRECIATE YOU!
Thanks Abbey:)
Great useful video!
Another suggestion: your favorite conditioning products used on no washing days .Would be great for us who ( like you) are washing the hair once a week. TIA
Love you Abbey. This information is right on time! 😭I can't even afford to drive to work anymore
So happy to help ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Abbey, Could you do a skincare routine morning and night of this please?
I second that!!❤
I bet she's already on it 😆
@@Madamchief probably 😂!
She actually did a morning one two months ago 😁 ruclips.net/video/KP40fwe-aYE/видео.html
Absolutely 😊
Having naturally wavy, fairly easy to straighten hair, I can get away with less splurges than my daughter with very thick, more coarse, naturally curly hair. She definitely spends more than I do and we did try drugstore brands through the years. Very few work well with her hair type
🏎️DEEPSQUAD🇯🇵TV🗺️🛩️
• The technique she uses also matters. If she has very coarse hair, I suggest she use spreadable/slippery products.
• She can also detangle out of the shower with her leave-in conditioner.
• Depending on environmental factors, density/curl pattern/hairstyle she chooses, I'll say that she doesn't need to spend a lot of money.
• For instance, I have dense/thick/coarse coily/curly type 4 hair, I live in a highly hot and humid/industrial city, I sweat a lot and I prefer to style my hair in wash n-go, twists and braids.
• So, I have these hair products that I always use without breaking the bank;
1. *Clarifying Shampoo*: Kinky Curly Come Clean or Tresemme Botanique Rich with Coconut & Aloe Vera. They *clarify and chelate* appropriately. The functional ingredients in the former are Olefin Sulfonate C14-16/ Sea Salt, while the latter contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate/Sodium Chloride.
2. Moisturising Shampoo: African Pride Moisture Miracle or As I Am Long & Luxe. These two are highly moisturising shampoos but also clean appropriately.
If you don't have any issue with sugary/fruity sweet fragrances, then you won't have any issue with the As I Am Long & Luxe shampoo.
3. *Protein-Free Conditioners*: for someone with coarse hair, having a little silicone in one's conditioner is great for detangling however if one doesn't detangle in the shower, then no problem
I'll suggest *Tresemme Botanique Rich Conditioner or Keracare Curl Essence Moisturising conditioner* which can as well double as a deep conditioner.
4. *Balanced Conditioner*: these are a balance between moisture and protein. *Aphogee 2min Reconstructor and Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Masque* are great examples.
5. *Leave-In Conditioners*: *As I Am Classic Leave-In* has a healthy amount of spreadability, no glycerin and protein in the first five ingredients. It also has DHT-blocking ingredients and it's very affordable.
*Styling Options*
1. *Hair Cream/Butter*: If she's into braid/twist/twaid, she can benefit from products like Keracare Buttercream or As I Am Double Buttercream (they both have a 98% Identical Ingredients list) or Camille Rose Aloe Butter or Curlaide Moisture Butter for styling.
While the Buttercreams provide more shine, the Camille butter is more spreadable.
2. *Wash-n-Go*: if she's the wash-n-go type, she can benefit from heavy-duty gels such as Ecostyler (forget about the bad rep it had a few years back- 98% of styling gels have identical functional ingredients as Ecostyler but are sold at exorbitant prices), Wetline Xtreme Gel or if she cares for soft hold, she can go for a mousse with hold e.g. Keracare, Aphogee, Nairobi etc
3. *Shine/Humidity*: if she intends to add shine and further combat humidity, she can use Blue Magic grease sparingly for the former and Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum for the latter.
She can add any other thing that she fancies but she can get away with using just 4-5 products from cleansing/conditioning/styling on her washday.
❤🤗
@@uberhaute_naturalz84 my daughter is 22, she already knows all the correct techniques because we have been researching since she hit puberty. Also, she follows Manes by Mel on RUclips so she gets tips from her as well. My point of the comment was that the best products for her hair tend to cost more than drugstore
@@annemariecronen9096 it's ok then. 🤗🤗❤
I have been watching a lot of your videos, and I am just so glad, because somehow I ended up buying the products you list in this video without having seen the video prior exactly the way you recommend them, I mean according to the price point you recommend them.
Hey Abbey! Being the hair goddess you are, could you recommend a hair loss friendly routine?
I've been a fan of your content for SO long and i have to say - THANK YOU ! As someone who has naturally thick, long, healthy looking hair (im pakistani so not tryna brag haha, it comes with body hair too rip), I never thought to care for my hair. I also thought that my hair naturally sheds a lot so I wouldn't treat my hair with products or brush it gently, etc. That being said, after watching your channel and learning about the BB hair oil and olaplex bond treatments, biolage shampoo, hair masks, etc. GIRL my hair is so so much better. It's smoother AND i dont get nearly as much fallout. It's crazy that just putting oil in my hair and heat protecting has stopped fall out by like 80%. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Keep killing it!!!
Please do an affordable hair product routine video!!
Your videos are super helpful!!! ❤ it’s good to know we can buy a more expensive mask and skip conditioner.
My favorite conditioner is the L'Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Mask. I love it, feels great and with it I can use spray leave-in conditioner instead of a leave-in cream which makes the hair take forever to dry. (pro tip most hair masks are just less watered down conditioners)
That’s my favourite too! Beats my kerastase ones big time, I’m struggling to use them up because I just wanna use my L’Oréal one!
Hey what spray leave in conditioner do u use?
@@AreebaRani-rs4hi I use the Curl company's refresh spray, it's great as a leave in for my wavy hair. Might be too oily for very straight or thin hair tho.
I wish you would review or speak on some Paul Mitchell products! I don't ever see you mentioning that brand but it's always a go to brand for me I feel like because a) I know they're cruelty free (I only use CF brands), b) have such a wide variety of products for different needs, and c) are on the more affordable side on the spectrum of salon brands.
Thanks as always for your helpful content!
Can you share your thoughts on the divi scalp serum? They also have come out with shampoo/conditioner. They have went over why the ingredients are great, but I’d love your thoughts! 😊

Thank you for this informative video 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A video about affordable hair care would be great !
Also something about detangling the hair…. You said you sometimes end up with a lot of tangles - I have the same problem but with fine hair… therefore a lot of detangling products are too heavy. Do you have any recommendations?
The dove 10-in-1 bond strength serum mask (after shampoo) is amazing and leave my hair feeling so good for only about $12 for 9.2oz
P.S. I would NEVER replace a heat protectant with a leave in that claims to have a great protectant in it!!!
I would love an affordable haircare routine video.
I love your content though and your hair is beautiful! :)
Abbey could you do a laser hair growth systems (ex. irestore) video?
i’ve started using regular coconut oil as a pre wash treatment and i noticed my hair is softer and retaining moisture better
Thank you! I have no problem splurging on products like Olaplex 3 and K18 that truly make a difference however now that my teenage daughters are starting to reach for my pricey shampoo and hair masks, it’s hard to splurge on those because they go through them quickly. Do both the Kristin Ess clarifying shampoo and Loreal bond repair shampoo have a low ph? I actually really like Kristin Ess signature shampoo and I think the ph is less than 5.
Thanks, such a helpful video. You are a hair guru! I would love an affordable haircare routine video.
Hii❤ I love ur vids! Could you make an updated vid on this topic! New launch’s have come and I am wondering if you changed your mind on some of your splurges ❤

Great video! Would love to know your thoughts on Sally’s Beauty Supply dupes (I think they even have one for oleplex)
I’ll check them out!!
There’s a very moisturizing mask there for about $15
Can you please review Sephora Collection/Ulta Brand products?
Love your videos! How long does it take you to go through a bottle of the hair density serum??
Can you do a tutorial for the hair growth serum from the ordinary?
Please try Trust my sister, they are affordable but great! It's a Polish brend sold in drugstores. I am curious what you think about their masks.
You should do a review on a brand called Verb. I would love to hear your thoughts on the brand. Especially the ghost oil they have!!
I would love to know your thoughts on loose powder dry shampoos; I feel I prefer those to aerosols.
What are your thoughts about the Fable and Mane HoliRoots Oil? I love the scent and have been using it (a free mini size bonus) to revitalize my mid-shaft-to-ends between shampoos (only wash once or twice per week) with nice results. So when it was recently 15% off, I bought the largest bottle. But, before I open it and am still in return window, would like your opinion.
I love the NatureLab Tokyo products I’ve tried so far! I have drier, fine hair nowadays from thyroid issues and their stuff plus that BB hair dresser’s oil primer spray have really helped my hair even tho I have bleached highlights too! Would def recommend those personally!
Sounds like we have the same hair texture AND I also have thyroid issues. Would you be willing to share which products you use exactly in your hair routine?! Struggling with mine!
@@nataliegundersen9673 Oh of course! I'd be happy to help if I could!
For shampoo, and conditioner, I'm not too picky. I go for something sulfate free/color safe. Although right now I'm using this L'oreal Ever Pure Moisture Conditioner, seems to work good.
For styling/pre-blowdry I have two main go to's.
One is the perfect repair leave in treatment foam from Naturelab Tokyo. It's very lightweight, so it never feels too heavy or weighed down (Which alot of other products do on me just cause of my hair type). It also really does help with the dry time. Whenever I didn't use it, I'm like "dang should have just used it" lol
The 2nd is the Bumble & Bumble hairdresser's invisible oil heat/uv protective primer. This one is def more pricey. I tried it as a sample in a beauty box sub once. And at least for me, it is def worth the price! It's again VERY lightweight, a great leave in. And a little bit goes a long way I find.
Another one I really like is the Naturelab Tokyo perfect shine oil mist. It's a great finishing spray, or helps to get rid of some frizzyness (I also like to use it if I do a no heat curls style). It's a super fine mist that's again lightweight and smells really good too!
Sorry that was so long, hope you find something that works for you too :D!
@@84rinne_moo Thanks SO much!! I've definitely been eyeing the B&B uv protective primer. This is so helpful!
From my research on formulation (hobbyist, not a cosmetic chemist), hair masks *are* rinse off conditioners. The main difference is product texture - masks tend to be thick enough to need a jar, "conditioner" can use a squeeze tube, bottle or pump. The conditioning and repairing ingredients in both are pulled from the same list. Many people don't need both products.
Until I started making my own shampoo bars, I used the cheapest shampoo that didn't damage my hair. That included some of the cheapest brands out there, Suave, White Rain, Tresseme. I used a higher quality conditioner, and still do. I agree 100% on damage repair products ... my Olaplex saved me from needing to chop my hair off!
I have an expensive finishing oil ... well, a tiny bottle of something that would be expensive full size. I use the smallest drop I can get out of the pump, sometimes that's too much. That tiny bottle might last the rest of my life.
I'm curious... what finishing oil do you use? I have yet to find one that i really love
@@elisea.740 I have the Ouai one. I have no idea if it would work for you, as we probably have different hair types.
I have hip length hair, similar to Abby's but uncolored. My ends are very damaged just because they're so old. I use the oil only on the bottom couple of inches when it's threatening to go frizzy.
I think any oil would work for me, even something pulled from the kitchen.
@@lizcademy4809 thank you so much for your reply! I super appreciate it! Funny, I almost grabbed that the other day when I was at Sephora... should've gone with my gut, lol. I'll try it next
For hair exfoliating treatments many anti dandruff shampoos already contain them (so I don't need the extra product) or you can just use whatever exfoliating acid you're using on your face or body.
This Sephora sale I am picking up my favorite shampoos by Virtue, k18, and living proof dry shampoo. Most come in a gift set and it’s better deal. I am going to try the inkey list exfoliaters. This haul is nothing but hair care and some skin care for Rouge members.
Love 😍
Can u please try or look into John Frieda hair products ? 😩
Could you please compare the hair growth serums mentioned here to rosemary water & to minoxidil? Can they be used together?
How do you feel about organic products? I use them on my mid thigh hair and suffer tangles badly during washing. Wondering what you think? Love your chanel 💕
Hey love your videos I noticed you use the color fanatic but I was wondering if there’s any chance you ever used Redken 25 benefit it’s kind of the same thing as a color fanatic spray and if you have I don’t remember the video can you let me know if not maybe you can give it a try thank you so much for everything😀
