  • The new Norwegian Aqua is set to sail in 2025 and will be the 3rd installment of the Prima Class
    Norwegian opted to remove the racetrack and put in the first hybrid roller coaster slide. What that means, we'll soon find out. We're not convinced though. The race track was their saving grace for something cool on a ship. Now that it's gone and replaced by the Slide Coaster, will it save them? I don't think so especially if they charge to ride it. The question we ask is "Who is this cruise for?" We feel it is no longer a "family" type of ship. If they're going for luxury, then something like the Aqua Coaster isn't exactly one that screams luxury. It's just wasted space that could be used for something nicer. If the Virgin Voyages ships can do it without having slides, water parks, big sports courts or Laser Tag, then so can't the Aqua.
    When I think of NCL Aqua, I think of nothing but water slides, water parks and so forth. Cool aquatic attractions. Lets see how this ship holds up to the rest of the fleet and other cruise lines,

      I'm a lil hesitant. Have you been on the Prima or Viva? Luxury.

    I think I’m gonna book 7 days out of New York City to Bermuda for a studio! I mean for a brand new ship for it to come in slightly less than $2000 is not bad! I wanted to try, but I haven’t, I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews, but I also heard they extended this ship…They made it a little bigger? Like the the attractions n stuff?

      Tryin to convince my wife for next year : ) Either the Aqua or the Celebrity Xcel. Both Luxury ships. Only thing I'm curious about is that Basketball Lounge or what ever it is.

    The main pool is pitifully small on prima/viva compared to the encore. Hopefully that is fixed on aqua. Loved watching the world cup with large Display on the pool deck on the encore. Also the main atrium on encore was funner with live music. More space

      Not once did we ever get into that pool. We didn't even hang out at the pool. Too crowded. Too small. Our spot was Deck 8. Ocean Boulevard. At least they have 3 pools in total. We hung out more on OB than lido. I don't see a major change with the lido pool on Aqua. it's pretty much the same.

      Aaaah that's awesome. I am still debating on booking. We've already sailed on the Prima last Feb, and are now sailing on the Viva this Feb. The only difference between the 3 is the Aqua Slide. They removed the Go Karts. Def going to weigh the options for 2025.

      @@downtovacay I would agree totally with them catering to us foodies, lol. I love the different options. I've heard the complaints about the buffet being smaller. But I think they made up for it with a wider selection of places to eat.

      Indulge was surely the topper. I will say that the Carnival Mardi Gras, Celebration & Jubilee have some fan favorites like Shaq's Big Chicken and Guy's Burger Joint. But it's not adult food lol Problem with the Prima class is the small venues.@@anthonylicari7776

    Right now NCL says the water slide is free but we will see if that holds. The Go karts give them so much revenue

      @downtovacay  5 месяцев назад

      Go karts were def cool, but it costs a lot to maintain. Maybe thats why they took it out? I enjoyed the experience out at sea for sure. That's what life is all about. The experiences.

      Supposedly the longer ship could not support the weight of a 3 story race track so they were forced to remove it. @@downtovacay

      I can see that as a possibility. I just wonder why since the Viva and Prima come in at 142K+ tonnage. I guess with the new Duplex Suites it changed the game. What's your source? Thank for the info. Much appreciated. @@Wild1995

      Aqua is 10% Bigger in the middle. Someone was on a NCL ship when they did announcement and this was discussed. NCL got some complaints about space and they made it 10% bigger. Not the first time that has happened with NCL. The Breakaway Plus design also corrected some of Breakaway issues.@@downtovacay

      The drop and the slide on Prima are free of charge. I don't see them charging for the coaster slide on Aqua.

    Every cruise ship's basketball court has a "ceiling."

    • @downtovacay
      @downtovacay  5 месяцев назад

      Not exactly. Open netting, sure. Royal Caribbean's ships like the Freedom, Liberty and Oasis class have netting around the court, not on top. Usually courts have open netting above, really high. NCL Aqua seems to have a legit ceiling, and it's low. What kind of gaming will happen, I'm not sure. Odd.
