    I think people will not ride those because of the fact their software can cause locked doors, non stop of the car, erroneous actions of the car. I will not ride one.

  • @polarbearigloo
    @polarbearigloo 13 дней назад +1

    in dry climates this is ok, but the minute there is bad weather, my tesla and lidar based systems fail. (heavy rain, snow, dense fog) for a variety of reasons. Having hired members from uber hogging up superchargers and being aggressive for spots I see for this action. We don't have the infer structure for this and this is a clear response from tesla launching the cyber cab.

    No Wonder, I only get very very few trips on a daily basis due to this self driving vehicle. I’ve been doing this right here for a long time. I don’t even recommend to anybody to get into this business because they cannot just simply make profit because all these new regulations are suppressed to make money. it’s not worth anymore driving for Uber it’s Uberwhelming

    Nope
    They are limited . No highway rides . In Las Vegas they just are on the strip . No lake Las Vegas . No way can they make enough money to survive . It is just a driverless shuttle . No airport rides . This will fail.

    We are small businesses. Uber tried to disrupt the taxi business and failed due to the legislative protections taxi have. So Uber decided to disrupt the Rideshare drivers and build their own market off drivers backs. Drivers have no legislative protections as businesses. They always go after labor protections instead of business protections. As businesses, drivers can’t even set their own prices. What business you know that can’t set its own prices for products and services? Clear price fixing as these driver businesses would be competitive businesses that will be an issue for Uber’s local markets. Our legislators have sided with Uber to prevent these driver businesses from growth. These small businesses can grow from rideshare to black service to fleet to app based local companies but Uber and legislative bodies block that and change driver focus to labor issues when these are business isssues

      There’s auto pilot that does most of flying. Uber/ Lyft/ Waymo could hire people to sit in driver seat, just in case car acts up or whatnot and pay them a little bit over minimum wage and it’ll still be cheaper for them what they’re doing now

    This is nothing new in the phoenix area. However, most of the passengers I have spoken to who have taken these robo taxis are not on board with them, and say they will never take them again. I don’t think the public at large is going to be overwhelmingly accepting of this. People still trust humans more than machines. Also, humans prefer human interaction and human conversation.

    Or, if one had the inclination, take a ride, end the ride immobilize the vehicle remove the cameras and robotics and the GPS.
    I've seen a lot of vehicles in the Charleston area that seem to be vehicle dumps, even an old UPS delivery van.

  • @sumnomeaztim

    I can't wait until they scale this up and discover how potholes, screws in the road, brakes and rotors, sand, snow and dust as well as batteries fail. They will spend so much in maintenance I can't see it ever being profitable. Not to mention other crazy drivers and riders or people looking to hack the robo shit..

    • @smartin684
      @smartin684 7 дней назад

      My thoughts too, however they have been slowly increasing the passenger prices so in the future the passengers will have no hesitation to paying $30 for a 9 mile ride which uber will be able to pocket completely to cover that cost, so the maintenance cost is essentially shifted to the passenger.

    Lyft and Uber were unique in that they had a service that combined tech and in person human interaction. Something all the other apps lacked (Amazon, eBay, post mates, Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc) Everyone always complains about automation, online platforms and social media because they are superficial and lack human connection.
    So whats funny is that this uniqueness they have is the very thing they want to move away from.

    Considering Uber disabled specific safety features last time that resulted in the deaths of a few people, I would never get in any vehicle belonging to Uber.

  • @smartin684
    @smartin684 7 дней назад

    As soon as they eliminate the good drivers, they will double the pax cost for self driving rides because there will be no alternative. I can see Uber implementing a dual system where the pax can order a ride with a driver or driverless car. Driverless being a "Premium" ride since all the good drivers with clean cars will have left the system, and the only ones left are crap drivers with fake accounts whose cars smell like weed and have no working A/C, this way uber can still scrape money from the bottom of the barrel rides but keep the premium rides on Uber's self driving cars. They can have the desperate drivers scrambling for pennies while they keep the high priced rides on their fleet. Of course there will also be a Lyft alternative LOL.
