I had one exactly like that. It was heavy, it really sounded great. I just couldn't stand the weight. . I got mine in Mesa Arizona in 1985 for $ 750 in mint condition. I bet it costs more now!
Hey Austin, mate your videos just get increasingly better every month! Better shot, more intelligent, more insight, more history, more story, more engaging! Just brilliant mate! Can't wait to one day visit your museum! Wishing you all the best, from Melbourne Australia
Love this! Remember wanting one when they came out but that Christmas my parents got me a brand new Gibson Les Paul Custom which was just fine! Great guitar!! Not too heavy and a wide thin neck!
This is just a basic phone video - it is meant to only show the condition. No production value unlike on my main channel. I'm unsure why this video got so many views haha
One of these in black ebony was just listed in my area from original owner. Listed as a 9/10 and has the authenticity documentation from Gibson. Looks mint. What are these worth! He is asking $7500 US.
I just polished it, so don't expect this to come off? I polish guitars like that everyday, Trogly. What are you using, your hand? You take all these guitars completely apart anyway, go ahead and hit them with a buffer and get it done.
I always thought these Les Pauls were a lot of flashy things for nothing! I never liked Les Pauls with back body bindings and three piece necks. These special celebration Les Pauls were gimmicky and it was advertisement and marketing departments whose job it was to come up with a new guitar.
usually they are "unlisted" and just attached to reverb ads that don't have full videos but maybe some people are nostalgic for "vintage trogly" as this got a surprising amount of views. This is how my main channel started with videos just like these before becoming the show we love today
How soon will it be posted on your website?
just got it up! troglysguitarshow.com/product/1979-gibson-les-paul-25-50/
A beautiful and classic example of the Norlin Era Gibsons.
