Neat idea. Another thing, when my nephew went off to college we had him take a picture of all his electronics (game system, games, camera, laptop, cell phone, TV, DVD player, etc). On the backs of the pictures, we had him put the serial numbers. He had two sets of pictures. One set for himself and one set his mom kept. We also made copies of ALL the receipts for these items (thermal receipts fade fast). This all came in handy when his items were stolen and claimed by another student. He just took the envelope, similar to the one Alejandra used in the binder, to the police department when he filed his report and was able to get everything back because he had proof that these items were his (serial numbers, pics, and receipts) with no problem. The officer was surprised that a college student had kept up with this information. Without this, he would not have been able to claim his items. Many college students don't think of this. Just putting this idea out there. Hope it helps someone.
Alejandra!!! you are the best!! this video really helps me. My life just became so overwhelmed after move in to the house. My builder left me a full big drawer of warranties and manuals and my own purchase made another drawer of manuals and warranties. They looked really bad and unorganized. more important i don't know what i have and where they are. this is the best way to organize them. They are so neat and organized now and saved space as well. love love love the idea!!
Oh Alejandra, your videos are so amazing! I'm an organization freak, but I love when people have ideas different than mine. I usually keep my warranties in a folder in my filing cabinet and my receipts in a binder, but this is much more efficient. I also keep all of my receipts throughout the month. I save them up and keep them in a front pocket, then when I go to budget for the next month I can track my spending, make returns, keep the large ticket expenses and trash the others. Keep making vi
Love this method of always knowing exactly where the manual is that I need, not only is it time-saving but also I am never frustrated by not being able to get the info I need exactly when I need it. Thank you so much for sharing.
I love your videos so much! Being a teenager, I still live with my parents, but I get so many inspiration from your videos that I can apply when I decide to live on my own. I get very excited watching your video's and your organizing systems. It all looks so neat and colourfull. And saying all this I feel like a little geek, getting excited by organiing systems, but you are truely amazing. I simply cannot wait to see more video's of your new organization systems in the new house. Keep up the ve
I just wanted to stop in and thank you!! I'm about to be a new mom and my "systems" just weren't working for me any more. Even if I procrastinate with implementation... I'm glad your videos keep me trying to change what is no longer working.
I made a similar one, I went one step further. I took pictures of each item and added to envelope as well. Oops ok maybe two steps, I also scanned photo w/receipt - copied to a disk/USB drive and stored in my fireproof safe. The also helps, with thermal paper receipts.
I saw this video years ago and have been sharing it with friends who like to have organized homes as well. Although I have all of my warranties / receipts together, I still haven't finished this project because I can't find those exact poly envelopes at the Staples in Canada. I love the manual for the warranties you'd leave for the new homeowner. That is such a wonderful way to welcome the new homeowner into their home!
I never thought of creating a binder for my warranties. This method will alleviate how many file folders I have in my cabinet. Thank you for another great video Alejandra!
This is brilliant. I finally gave it a try and I really like the result. The file tabs are what really make the organization work. I don't have a label maker, but I labeled it carefully in Sharpie and I'm very satisfied with the end result!
Omg I just moved into a new house and wanted a BETTER way to organize my manuals because in my last house used the accordion style binders and those definitely did not do the job. So I am going to try this with the new manuals. Loving all the videos I have watched so far.
I'm SO glad you did this video. I have had organizing my manuals better on my mental "to do" list for a while because the current system is not effective. Thank you for taking the time to give us a visual example (it's easier for me to get ideas that way) and show us how you organize things. Please keep the color-coded eye candy coming...that is what makes it so much fun to watch because its all colorful! Great job!
Thanks you Alejandra, very helpful! I'm going to set one up for our home. I never had a clear idea of how to store them, and this is the best one I've seen.
Wonderful, neat & tidy! Thanks for sharing all your great ideas. Loved Mojo prancing around in the background. Next time may we please have a more formal cameo of the Mojo? Such a cutie! Organization AND precious puppies... who could want more?
I am so glad you made this video. I'm one of the noobs that puts my manuals in sheet protectors! I will be going to staples very soon to pick these products up!!
I am living on my own for the first time. I have developed a collection of Warranties and manuals. I came across your organizing videos and love all your ideas. After seeing this Video i feel more inspired to organize all my paperwork better. Thanks so much for all your ideas and videos.
I thought this was going to be unnecessaryily long, but the explanation was worth the time and more. Thanks for making this video. It also helped a lot to know what the things are called so that we can shop for them
Great idea. I DESPERATELY need to organize my craft room/office/library/years-and-years-of-old-mail-piled-up-all-over-the-place-room. So I think this will help. The more I see you using the poly envelopes the more I like them and I've never liked those, Lol. Thanks. Btw, cute little video bomber in the back at the end. :)
Perfect for my work receipts!!! I had tons of receipts dating back to April of last year.I organized them by month using this binder method AMAZING RESULTS.... you have a true fan in me! I just bought my label maker so I am on an organization role!! I have been looking for the best way to organize my receipts for a while & THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST WAY!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you !!!
ermergerd, so so xcited that my discount poly pockets have arrived. been drooling over this vid for a while now and was so bummed when the staples pockets turned out to be $4 each! found some affordable alternatives on amazon tho--and even read a review of s.o who used them for your exact vid!! thx so much, A. !!
If the thing you buy has a life time warranty photo copy the receipt because companies now use ink that over time fades. You'll go back and your receipt will be blank...I kid you not.
Just used this idea for my home! Works perfect. Everything is now so nicely organized and I know exactly where everything is. Thank you. I love all of your videos.
Those envelope sleeves are great! I really love this method of organizing. The post-it tabs are awesome too! I can't wait to get started organizing everything at my house! Thanks Alejandra!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! I spent days organising my manuals etc and when I'd finished I could have cried as I'd used the sheet protectors and as you know it just doesn't work!!!! So I was so frustrated that I just took them all out and threw them in a cupboard and everytime I opened it they'd fall out!!!!! I'm so doing this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You do not know how exciting this is lol x
Great idea. I think I will also create a section to include software for our computers, cameras etc. We are forever misplacing the discs and then the hunt is on whenever we purchase a new computer in our house.
I love love love your videos. I think this one is definitely one of my favorites because receipts are so important but so pestering sometimes because they are all small and different sizes. Thank you so much for sharing. I love being organized!
I just made a Warranties, Manuels & Receipt Binder like you showed and it came out beautiful! It was super quick and easy with the correct supplies. Formally, I had all of these items stuffed into a Bigso box. The binder is so much more orderly looking and functional. I decided to keep the old box to place those random things that come with non-file-able (made-up term) products that aren't currently in use but you don't want to get rid of (Eg: An adhesive mount for a desk lamp). I also plan to utilize it as the "To Be Filed" area specifically for filing these items in the binder (in case I'm in a hurry). Thank you for sharing your process!
There's Mojo!! I've been hoping to get a glimpse in one of your videos, which I have been watching for pretty much 24/7 for 3 days. Thanks so much for the wonderful ideas and tips. I am going to add this one to my list, too.
That was awesome. I'm going to staples and am going to get the stuff and organize my manuals the same way. Well except for one difference. Since I have hand paralysis I'll be adding a handle to the binder. Love your ideas! Thanks!
Such a clever and organized idea. So glad I found your video because I have a kitchen dedicated to only manuals and I want to do something with them so I can organize my season in the draw instead.
i LOVE those tabs, use them all the time. also - i already have some sturdy sheet protectors (In:Place brand by office max, or office depot - I never can remember) which have a flap at the top to keep things from falling out, and they're heavy-duty and not flimsy at all. i may try these from staples if i need more or a bigger pocket. :) thanks alejandra!
this is actually a really really good idea. I had thought about this earlier today, the only bit i was unsure about was the labelling but you also suggested a good binder. Hopefully the start of a more organised life for me!
I finally got around to doing this. Staples had a great deal on those Velcro things and I also got a really durable binder. Thank you SO much for the video
Another helpful video from you Ms. Alejandra.I"ll definitely do this cause I always misplaced our manuals and warranties cause I just keep them in drawers..Good idea!
Good idea! My manuals were all just stuffed in a box, but thanks to you I'm making my own warranties and manuals binder today! I found that Target has colored binder pockets for less than $2. They have a sliding zipper instead of velcro.
Alejandra. Thank you so much for your video. I have been looking for a better way to organize warranties for the items in my house. Great explanation for why you choose each part!
OMG why didnt i think of that! I have saved some things but I seriously dont know where they are. I will have to start from scratch and just save as I slowly invest in stuff again. Awesome idea with the envelopes!
Alejandra, I LOVE you nail polish in this video!!! what brand/color is it? Have you ever considered doing a beauty channel?! You could share the types of polish, makeup, hair products, you use!! Great tips on organization! thanks!! Jacqueline
Thank you for this video! I've had it with expanding file folders and finally ready to move onto something more efficient. I'm going to try this method in addition to a clear file storage box for normal documents. This really helped me a lot!
Thanks for this video. I was getting ready to start organizing my warranties and manuals for the umpteenth time. Had already thought of doing something similar but I like the idea of the gusseted pockets. However, the pockets seem to no longer be available at Staples.
Absolutely love this idea! It's going on my Projects list. Can't wait to see your next video. Amazing what you come up with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm beginning here to put receipts & warranty paperwork in order! Next I want to see how you organize Tax Information & other Important Documents such as Licenses, Insurance Paperwork, Financial Stuff. Thank You for this example and save time quality items versus stuff that doesn't work.
love this video!!! Just a suggestion (I dont know if you notice this with your receipts) but you should make a copy of the original receipts because often times it fades and its hard to pull the info off of it when you need it cause its been awhile. :)
I love all these videos the few things that suck is for someone like me who lives somewhere where we don't have Office Depot or target and can't get things delivered a lot of things she says you need is almost impossible to get, two some of the things she says you can just get is expansive so a cheaper idea would be awesome! And 3. I don't live alone so I can't really organize everything to my liking so I still watch these with hope lol
I clicked on the link for the products in this video and there are so many products, much more than in this video. I am on my way to staples and really need to know what to buy, I love this organizing method for manuals & warranties! However, I just need the products for this video :)
Dare I say (says this homemaker and mom) watching your videos - especially this one is like some watch cooking shows - so instead of 'food porn' we now have 'organisational porn'!. Especially at the end where you sum up all the products it takes to do this one project I just get giddy with excitment and dash to see what time Staples opens in the morning. Thank you, thank you thank you!
Excellent video. I've been looking for a way to keep my manuals. I use to use the document protector method, but they fall out. This is by far better. Thanks.
You guys are so lucky to find those poly envelopes or post it tabs in your stores!! I can't find anything of those in our stores... and amazon doesn't ship them to our country either. :(
I simply go online & download the latest manuals as PDFs so I have digital copies. I keep an aptly named folder on my PC ("Manuals"), upload & sync that folder to my online storage as a backup, & upload them to my tablet for easy access. For example, I have Google Drive on my laptop, tablet, and phone. Not only can I access them from any computer via the website, but since they are synced all my devices have up-to-date copies. No paper needed unless you have a manual you can't find online.
I really like the Staples pockets that go inside the binders but I do it a little differently that works really well. I have a label for each room in my house that holds the receipt with the warranty for each item in that room.
Yes, I agree that you might end up with some pretty hefty files, depending on what you buy, but maybe make a couple notebooks to break them down and not be so cumbersome. For us it is tools, hobby stuff, and house appliances. I keep computer booklets in a drawer by the computer for easy access - while at the computer.
Neat idea. Another thing, when my nephew went off to college we had him take a picture of all his electronics (game system, games, camera, laptop, cell phone, TV, DVD player, etc). I had many items stolen in college as well. I wish I had this system going. You love you learn.
This is so helpful! I'm going to do this for my big brother! he's going to college in a few months!!
thank you for this clever idea!
That's brilliant! I always lose things and the police are unforgiving and unmoved by my pleas
Brilliant!!! 👏

Great job! This is my next project. My warranty papers are all thrown in boxes and your idea is brilliant. Thanks.
I use an accordion file now and this seems so much better. I love your videos, I always learn so much.
i seriously love you! i strive to be just as organized as you! thank you for this awesome video

I thought I was organized. I am inspired to convert to the poly envelopes. I did not even know they existed. I love this idea! Thank you!
Thank You! Mine have always been thrown in a box, which means you have to go through everything to find something! Already ordered the binder pockets!
I am living on my own for the first time. I have developed a collection of Warranties and manuals. I came across your organizing videos and love all your ideas. After seeing this Video i feel more inspired to organize all my paperwork better. Thanks so much for all your ideas and videos.

Jennifer Brock you are so right!
jsb99888 that’s what she said.... 🙄
I have to agree, "BEST" organizing videos on the internet!!!
Just used this idea for my home! Works perfect. Everything is now so nicely organized and I know exactly where everything is. Thank you. I love all of your videos.

This lady is the original queen of organisation. All the others on youtube copied her.

I love how much you love your binder!
Such a clever and organized idea. So glad I found your video because I have a kitchen dedicated to only manuals and I want to do something with them so I can organize my season in the draw instead.
excellant idea. I have a warrenty binder and you are so right everything falls out, Thanks
You are fantastic!! Thank you so much. I think I will be heading to Staples tonight. Enjoy your weekend:)
You are my new crack. Not that I have ever done actual crack, but you get the idea. I love you.

I had a system but this will be my new system. Love it!!
Fantastic! Thanks for the advice! My items are now organized and look great.
What a GREAT idea. My product books always fall out of the protector pages. Will be redoing all my binders! THANK YOU!!
Great idea. Very few have these long lasting techniques. Loved it
Your advice is timeless.
I finally got around to doing this. Staples had a great deal on those Velcro things and I also got a really durable binder. Thank you SO much for the video
The way u see little details is really inspiring! Thank you so much!
Another helpful video from you Ms. Alejandra.I"ll definitely do this cause I always misplaced our manuals and warranties cause I just keep them in drawers..Good idea!

Love this idea. Mine are in a plastic bo and unorganized. This is so much more practice. Will put this on my office to do list. Thanks. Myra
Thank You for sharing, Best organizing videos on the Internet!!!
This is one of my fav vids. I am going to do this today! Thanks Alejandra!
Cute cameo appearance by your dog...lol!! Great tip and cool supplies! I am going to do this for my receipts. Thank you :-)
great video! can you do one of trash/ recycling, and one of your bedroom nightstand organization?
Alejandra, I LOVE you nail polish in this video!!! what brand/color is it?
Have you ever considered doing a beauty channel?! You could share the types of polish, makeup, hair products, you use!!
Great tips on organization! thanks!! Jacqueline
Thank you for this video! I've had it with expanding file folders and finally ready to move onto something more efficient. I'm going to try this method in addition to a clear file storage box for normal documents. This really helped me a lot!
I love those little pounch things!!! I'm headed to Staples after work today! Thanks so much for this idea!!
I love binder pockets I use them for organising school paper:) I love your videos they help me organise everything.
great idea i have recieps everywhere i really need to get it organised!
Thanks for this video. I was getting ready to start organizing my warranties and manuals for the umpteenth time. Had already thought of doing something similar but I like the idea of the gusseted pockets. However, the pockets seem to no longer be available at Staples.
***** you can buy them off Amazon- C-line Binder Pocket
Tamy Correll thanks for the info. I had already found them on Amazon shortly after I wrote my comment.
I just found them on e-bay. Priced at 15 in a package, and the package is $24.61.
Absolutely love this idea! It's going on my Projects list. Can't wait to see your next video. Amazing what you come up with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Another tip: I usually photocopy my receipts for big ticket items because the receipts from the store fade when they get warm and as time goes by.
Love the vid!
This is a great idea. I need to do this with my parents things. Will you be doing a video of your new house tour?
Alejandra is a genius. God Bless her! ❤️👌🏽
I'm ssssooo doing it! Thanx, Alejandra. You are mine and my daughter's hero!)))
I'm beginning here to put receipts & warranty paperwork in order! Next I want to see how you organize Tax Information & other Important Documents such as Licenses, Insurance Paperwork, Financial Stuff. Thank You for this example and save time quality items versus stuff that doesn't work.
Another very nice organized system that I am going to use. Thanks for the tip.
I love this! I had mine in ziploc bags in box. This is sooooo much better!
Did this this past weekend!! Loved the result!
I love Alejandros videos they make me happy ot be organised Only wish we had a container store in Jamaica would help a lot
Amazing I have seen so many video on manual organizing and this is the best
I love this idea! I went out and got my poly pockets for my binder and I am off to organize!!
Thanks so much Alejandra, I needed this badly! Blessings to you Organization Goddess!
Fantastic! I knew it was a problem for me to use sheet protectors... but I diin't imagine there was a solution: poly envelope pockets! 🤩
Looove this! Could you do a vid on how you would organize a recipe book?
What about using a pencil bag? I use them in my gardening binder to hold seed packets. : )
thank you for this video! I can finally organize the pile of papers hiding in my cabinet!
Omg, how nice of you! I will pass down the good habits!
love this video!!!
Love this idea for organizing Warranties and reciepts! Thank you! So excited to try this!
What's a good label maker? Your videos inspire me to do a bunch of organization this weekend.
I like those pockets! I didn't know such a thing existed!
I clicked on the link for the products in this video and there are so many products, much more than in this video. I am on my way to staples and really need to know what to buy, I love this organizing method for manuals & warranties! However, I just need the products for this video :)
