Thank you for another amazing video 📹 Once I tried to check this link shared, there's a message saying " 404 this page does not exist..."
Can you apply a ceramic coating over the ceramic gloss?
I love all the swirls/scratches towards the bottom
A quick polish that will shine up paint won’t always remove a lot of scratches. This method is great for the beginner and great for preserving clear coat 😊
@@diydetailofficial Ah I see, thank you for the info!
Thank you for the question
Meguiars will fix those nicely
He didn't turn the polisher on when he rubbed the door 😅
Love a professional that stays clean while doing a job. That shows that he knows what he’s doing
Thank you.
Can’t question a man’s process when he’s got beard and mustache like that 👍🏼
Lol, you can, but he stands behind it.
100 % that wood be Rude !!
@@diydetailofficial good one lol.
@@diydetailofficialliterally lol
Bro a tip I received from you a few years ago still blows my mind. A finishing mf pad to clean leather! Esoteric, pan, and you are the best
Thank you.
Definitely an increase in gloss, ceramic gloss too but that paint must be super slick
Thank you, it is
The best part is the time you save not having to wipe the polish off first than use a panel prep and finally apply the protection!
Thank you
I need to try your method! seems faster compared to the traditional ; Dab polish on paint, spread it, then wipe wipe away with a prep, product then another wipe..
Give it a try!
Can't wait to try this stuff
Thank you.
I wish I had half of this guys detailing skills!
thanks for the kind words!
How many batteries do you keep around the shop for daily use? Just curious as to the battery life on those things! It looks mighty convenient to be cordless, especially since I detail my car in the driveway under direct Florida sun (sometimes)
2 is sufficient
Love it just like when I followed your technique with h blue bottle and that blue bottle wax.
Thank you.
I remember when RUclips creators actually gave gave their honest opinion instead of the one they got paid for
We still do
Hey brother, I want to clay before I polish. Can i use the clay towel/mit while the car is wet with a graphene shampoo? Or no because the graphene in the shampoo will seal in the contaminants that I'm trying to pull with the clay mit? I'm trying to soak the car down, and spray iron remover while using the clay mit
The graphene is not an issue, make sure the soap doesn’t soften the Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel
If you pause the video in the last 2 seconds you can see there are a lot of swirl marks remaining. Just thought I'd point it out
That was residue that wasn’t fully wiped off.
If you listen closely at the start of the video, he mentions on how to “quickly enhance”. Just thought I’d point it out
Correct Mr Lopez
@@rusty.diamond
I take pills for that
Hi Yvan. Will this not damage my ceramic protection if I do it on the entire car? I just completed chemical and mechanical decontamination but want to see more gloss.
If you polish a ceramic coating, you remove the ceramic coating.
@diydetailofficial Yvan, I saw in one of your short videos where you used a jewling pad to enhance the gloss of an already ceramic coated paint? What lubricant/polish should I use and at what speed should I set my rotary polisher?
can you fix paint that has peeled up in the front of the car? or would you have to completely sand down the car and repaint it?
Unfortunately it must be repainted.
Im a newbie looking to keep my car looking good is there any prep first like using a clay bar.
Yep! you want to decontaminate the paint before polishing: ruclips.net/video/t9DkX0BfToY/видео.htmlsi=xp4uCG6GCmDoRz75
What is the best beginners tool for polishing? Meaning-which polisher is easiest for a beginner to become accustomed to?
A 8 or 15 mm dual action
@@diydetailofficial do you have a particular brand in mind??? I’ve been told Griots or Maxshine for an affordable beginners option…?
Yes those work.
@@DetailsNMe did you ever purchase one?
Would you skip the ceramic gloss for something else if you were going to be ceramic coating afterwards?
Yes, simply use DIY Detail Rinseless Wash to wipe off.
@@diydetailofficialThanks for the reply. I have an s580 benz. About 2 months ago I put on a cheaper spray ceramic Torque was the brand. Do you think the polish spray would be enough to remove that for the diy 5 year coating to then be applied?
I'm new to the polishing game still need to get a polisher or 2. Will test on my old corolla beater before I touched the benz of a potential customer car
Yes, polishing will easily remove that.
I’m curious, Why not do the whole door instead of a 2*2 section?
Most doors are too large, plus from an ergonomic standpoint you do not want to polish wider than your shoulders.
What did you spray on the compound? I'm having troubles at work removing the compound 100% because the product they gave me is like oil.
DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss
Please can you let me no if we can buy the gold standard in England yet guys. !!!
Yes. Https://diydetail.com/pages/distributors
So with using ceramic gloss to wipe. Is there any bond interference with the residue from the polish??
No, but if you prefer, wipe off with rinseless then use DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss to dry.
@@diydetailofficial Thank you sir!!!
Thank you for the question
Ivan what speed to you recommend for that polisher and do you think it’s a good cordless DA polisher?
Roughly speed 3, so far so good
Yvan, I saw in one of your short videos where you used a jewling pad to enhance the gloss of an already ceramic coated paint? What lubricant/polish should I use and at what speed should I set my rotary polisher?
DIY Detail Gold Standard Polish, low speed , no pressure
Impressive! Would be nice to see on a vehicle just off the street...
Coming soon!
What’s the difference between these pads and other pads
Waffle pads run cooler, last longer.
What milwaukee product is that? Is the pad youre using the factory size?
It’s the 21mm DA, yes with the 6 inch factory backing plate.
This is intriguing so is the spray polish just lubricant and it's relying on the cutting ability of the pad or is there also any abrasives in the spray? Also does either product fill in micro scratches?
Yes it has abrasives, and no filling.
Hi sir , can i do it by hand of only with the machine ??
You can by hand , but it takes a lot of work. This isn’t a wax, it’s an abrasive polish ( compound).
Very interesting. You don't have to strip the polish off to get a good bond with the ceramic gloss?
DIY Detail Gold Standard Polish is a pure abrasive, it has no protection or or fillers
@@diydetailofficial I understand that. I always thought you had to strip the polish off to get a good bond with whatever spray sealant you're putting on there.
Would you say this is the best beginner friendly polishing process
Yes, absolutely
This removes swirls, scratches, and water marks?! We don't need to use a compound first?
Our yellow foam pad with Gold Standard Polish isn’t as aggressive as our wool pad, but it can take out a surprising amount of swirls and scratches and finishes down awesome on most paint 👍
Way slick move to wipe off with your LSP. That's got to beat using an AIO where the protection has to put up with heat and abrasion.
Thank you
If we have the same tool you have, do you recommend a 5.5 or 6.5 pad? What are the pros and cons?
Use the pad that matches your backing plate
Can you tell me what some foam pads are flat and some (like yours) are sort of like a golf ball? One better than the other or a performance thing?
Flat pads are the least expensive to manufacture, hence why they are popular. A waffle pad has many advantages, principally better user experience ( less grabby), keeps the surface cooler, and they are more efficient.
Do you really need the Gold Standard pad because it wasn't rotating?
It was rotating, the polishing footage was accelerated to fit the short format
@@diydetailofficial Thank you for the clarification!
Can you use the ceramic gloss over a graphene coating for more gloss?
Yes
Is there demonstration video of interior ceramic, I am still not sure what it does ( I know u have RUclips shorts but... pls make detailed video )
Yep! ruclips.net/video/OXNxUqK-kvU/видео.html
Perfect. I’m doing what your showing. Yahoooo!
Perfect I say, show me more how to shine the paint for 12 month period
For longer durability top with DIY Detail Ceramic Coating
that milwaukee is great. used one for a year to 3 step polish cars with the 3m adapter and 3m double sided egg pads
Good
Hey sergio, have a milwaukee DA too. Any chance you can link the 3m kit?
Thanks for the advice! What speed setting do you like running at with this set up?
Just fast enough to maintain backing plate rotation, speed 2-3
Just tried this polish today, and it is awsome ! I will say rupes yellow polish cuts more as a one step, but the gold standard is one to have in your arsenal. No dusting and definitely enhances gloss, and you don't have to worry about hitting trim
Exactly! Thanks for the feedback brother
Can you speak on the condition of the paint you were polishing ???
@lanthonyperdum6430 it was on black hazy paint. Brought back all the clarity but like I mentioned the rupes yellow did a little better attacking swirls which where heavy . I'd use diy polish for jeweling / Enhancing gloss which is majority of the jobs I do when polishing.
@@detailzautodetailing643 Gotcha….Thanks a million !!!
Do you recommend the Milwaukee polishers?
They work well for a cordless machine
wait did you actually run the polisher ?
Yes
Nice! Could the Method be used with Quick Beads? Somehow the neighbors friggin' cat got under the car cover with dirty paws. You can guess the rest....Black Single Stage.
Yes
I thought you spray an alcohol prep spray after you polish?
Only if applying a ceramic coating
It it in liquid form the Gold standard polish or thick like regular polish AIO?
It’s a special formulation and meant to be sprayable. Try it out 😀 diydetail.com/products/gold-standard-polish
@@diydetailofficial I wish I could, I'm in Sweden and I saw that you don't ship international. I guess there aren't any suppliers in Sweden or Europe?
Does that remove smaller mark
Yes
What’s the duration of this enhancement?
As long as you don’t scratch it again.
Do I need a certain pad? I have orange for my DA polisher
That will work
We men are special. Imagine if our women bought all kinds of products to keep a washing machine in top condition and shining. We would think they are crazy.
People love their cars:)
@@diydetailofficial yes we do ❤️
Please, I want to learn
Subscribe and you will
Is the yellow pad equivalent to a optimum/lake country black waffle pad in cut?
Slightly more
Same technique I use on my pointer finger
Good
I like the swirls you see in reflection 😂
Perfect is not always the goal, sometimes gloss enhancement suffices.
I want to see on a slightly spider web surface
More videos to come :)
Thanks. Do you use this after you wax your car?
Before adding protection.
@@diydetailofficial thanks. I’m on your website and am new to this. Trying to find what I should buy to take car of my cars. Do you have a video listing all the steps? Do I have to use the ceramic coat or when do I use just the gold standard polish. Is the gold standard Polish to be used after every time I was the car? Also what milkwaukee orbital model do you use? Thanks.
@@johnbrion4565check out their detail series. It covers everything you need and how to do it.
nice
Thanks
could you have just stopped after making the 4 passes with the gold standard and buffed that out?
i know the point of the video....i was just curious
Yes
Nice! Just out of curiosity, what speed did you have your polisher set it when you sprayed the pad? Thanks!
Just as it’s winding down
@@diydetailofficial Gotcha. Thanks, Yvan!
Thank you for the questions
What speed setting did you use?
2-3
He made that shit shine like Mr clean 😮💨
Clean is a way of life
I wasnt a very big fan on my first videos of yours that came across as i felt it was just a bunch of different shorts of the same thing. For the same product. (Not that id say having tons of products would be good at all, just that its alot of the same thing but differently each time.
Most of our shorts are taken from our 3 weekly long form videos. There are many different ways to detail, we like to show as many as possible.
Man i still see swirls in the paint at the end of video when he walks away
Paint enhancement, not correction
What speed on the da were you on?
Speed 3
How much for both bottles?
$29.99
Nice
Thanks
wow, this tool is very useful
Glad you think so!
That's terrible! Use 3M Ultrafine 39062 and a 3M Perfect It 05733 pad and a DA polisher and get a mirror finish every time.
That is an option.
Why wax over swirl marks? That paint needs a paint correction, not an orbital wax.
This isn’t a wax, it’s an abrasive polish.
@@diydetailofficial That abrasive polish still left major swirl marks.
Good Moustache
Thank you
😅😅 it already looked like that lol
Not quite
I tried this, and now my car is gold plated!😅😂
Lol
I love how after he passes the towel; there are still scratches 😂
Looking for enhancement, not perfection
love how he says enhance the paint but you missed that part.
Looks like you missed the part where he said “enhance”
The amount of scratches when you pause with the light on the vehicle is insane. I take it there was no paint correction here just a polish?
Yep, this is a demonstration on how to "quickly enhance" (not sand, compound, polish and jewel) your paint:) Shiny paint is the goal here, not perfect paint
@DIY Detail I thought so. Too often I have customers struggle to understand the difference. I tend to paint correct a bad scratch and then wax a bad one before I even begin either now so customers know what to expect.
As a car detail for 30 plus years I call bill shit ,
Try it yourself, we are never too old to learn something new
Beauty!!!
Thank you
Any wax will do that as long as your applying it to a car that has good paint try that on a car that’s 10 20 years old
This isn’t a wax, it’s an abrasive polish. Here’s a video on a 15 year old truck
ruclips.net/video/y3t-2qGht0g/видео.htmlsi=FJe_-pLPrOeOgsWG
The spider web scratches are still there
This is a paint enhancement, not a correction.
I got one for you try buffing a 2024 black blazer electric car that sat in the rail yard for 8 months!!!!! You'll want to quit your job!!!! Thin paint almost scratches touching it!!! General motors new paint jobs are awful!!!!!
Definitely not the easiest
Wow

Didn’t show the before lol
we have lots of great polishing videos here on our RUclips channel, but next time I'll work on getting a better before picture. Have a great day!

And there we have it a bunch of swirls I see ladies and gents the spider webbing
this polish demo was for a one step, gloss enhancement polish -- specifically targeted to the DIYer, or enthusiast, who maybe has never polished paint before. There will always be a rabbit hole to go down in search of perfect paint:) But that's not how we approach polishing, we're trying to help folks get great results with simple processes and great, easy-to-use products
Full with swirl marks..
Why do you think that?
@@diydetailofficial because i see it
Yah I can see them too
You scratched it so much
The truck in the video is used to go hunting in the woods, yes it was very scratched.
damn ya volume too low
Turn it up my guy
Damn 😍
Thank you
all those scratches and swirls 🙅🏽♂️
Yes, it definitely gets rid of them.
Aren't you too old to be a car washer who makes videos and calls himself detailer?
There is no age limit to enjoying a clean car.
@@diydetailofficial yeah but there is an age limit to ignorance and adolescence in geriatrics
Works great on a clean vehicle 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Try it before you knock it:)
It works great on many different paints, the yellow pad will give a nice one step with some defect and swirl removal + great gloss
All these channels do is sell products
Education first.
Bs😂😂
Why?
Wtf then why tf is there like 30 mf bottles to purchase just to do a simple detail ?
We don’t even have 30 products
😂😂😂 someone forgot to take their meds
Never trust a detailer who is supposed to be a professional when he or she wears rings.🤦
Why?
If you're motor skills and awareness levels are so low that you cannot work on a car without your ring scratching, I would never trust you
These are the kind of videos that made me start making detailing videos. You get some yahoo working on a car that already looks good, wipes some crap on the car and then says, "Look at how good that looks!" Seriously??? People are still falling for this crap? 🙄🙄🙄🤦♂️
What’s the issue with the video?

Did you bother to READ MY COMMENT??? It is VERY self explanatory.
Do you have to apply any pressure on paint when polishing?
