You make a good point at @12:21. Maps where you have to put your wf in a pixel perfect position to have a chance is frustrating and bad map design IMO. Both for noobs and returning players. The strength of this game is speed and unit control, not playing tetris with buildings.
Yeah It's really rare for map to be like that, normally it's a top level player making a map for top level players. 20 year old game, top level players get bored 🤣
@@Iver I didn't mean to slag off that map specifically, I meant it as a general map design principle(: There are a few 2v2 maps (desert island for example) where it is awkward and very punishing if you put a building in the wrong spot. Stretching I'm fine with but being heavily handicapped b/c you don't know how to tetris it properly is anti-fun for less regular players. Very similar to getting screwed in chess if you don't know an opening, though map design should be able to get around this issue imo.
27:51 you didn't mention the War Factory sell which generates immediate spontaneous conscript fodder during the tank fight. We group our tanks behind the fodder immediately. Edit and he did it with a century gun build if you watch it yet again. lol you're giving out all the secrets we've had for decades 😅😅
oh and random question. Playing online, years ago when a game would end due to "reconnection error" people would always say that was due to someone cheating. Any truth to this? It does still happen when playing online these days but I dont hear the cheating accusations like years ago. just wondering if you have any insight. thanks
Glad you liked the analysis! Recon errors still happen, and they can happen randomly, regular map with non cheating players. Basically online (with cncnet.com) if you go into someone else's lobby and they are playing a custom map, any schmuck can edit a map to make a single tree be destroyed and give them +10000. So just kinda rolling the dice. The only way to make sure people aren't cheating is to play maps that are built into the client (vetted by the community), if your playing real maps there really isn't much cheating (if ever).
Been watching for ages! So so impressed with the commentary. My favourite game of all time. I have been playing on a Mac port recently but can't play online. Hopefully I can get involved in the future
Today i received your War Torn Lovers comic, it took only a few days to cross the atlantic. very nice, you have a writing talent + good with illustrations. Its impressive how many characters you managed to put in. Boris got btfo and you left an opening for a sequel, well done
Don't see a lot of tech in RA2, games are generally too short and tech just puts you to far behind in tank numbers. In Yuri's Revenge the tanks build slower and games go longer. You see tech in a lot of those games. But I don't stream much YR, I find the games too slow.

Do pro players use attack move in tank battles? or do they do different right clicks with different groups of tanks?
Rhino's and grizzleys automatically shoot while moving. Other units like IFVS are almost always manually instructed to do so.
In the fourth game...can an engineer repair that building? Then fill it with conscripts.
