    Hi from the UK. I have 2 made to move Barbie dolls, and when you get a good one they are fab. but the quality control is very variable. My first I had to send back as she came with 2 left feet, litterally! the replacement was fine. the second I got was totally fine, the third I bought and was able to get a refund for because she had a fault with one of her elbow joints, it didn't move! This has been purchasing over a few years so it seems to be an ongoing issue with the quality control. I was thankful that the online store I purchased from was quick to offer refund or replacement, so I was not out of pocket. RIght with you on the hassle to unbox tho, needed nail clippers to get the barb from the head tag down to head level.
    Thanks for the detailed look on the obistu doll. Love your videos, they are so good.

      Oh wow! Thank you so much for sharing with us! Yikes that is crazy with the quality control on Barbie! 2 left feet?!?! That is crazy! I think Barbie is cool but I do love my Obitsu dolls :) Thanks for watching!!

      Oh now that would be something! I have a made to move curvy (I had to buy at least one Barbie lol!) and she is beautiful in every way and I think it's about time they gave the joints to the whole fashionista range...at the moment it's only the girls in wheelchairs that have MTM bodies. I think the diversity in shapes and colours really should inspire the makers to add joints to the mix as it's probably going to make money in the long run because everyone isn't one standard colour or shape so there's always going to be a potential customer that particular doll will speak to.

    A doll doesn't need "extra hands" for the hands to come off. Mattel's Monster High line have very splayed-out hands and spindly limbs, so the hands and forearms are designed to be removable for easier dressing and undressing. I can't remember if MtM Barbie was meant to have removable hands or not, but her forearms definitely DO NOT come off.

    • @AsenvaBJD
      @AsenvaBJD  4 года назад

      Hiya! I was just wondering if Barbies hands could come off easily like Obitsu dolls do. It was all just observation :) It would be pretty cool though if there were other optional hands for Barbie too :) I would love to see like a fist or like a peace sign, or something else super cute :)

    I haven't owned a barbie for years but suddenly got this idea to buy my favorite doll from my childhood and put her head on an obitsu body but I'm not sure what size body to get for a barbie head to look proportional 🤔 (The head is from 2006 fairytopia mermaidia Merissa doll if that helps!)

    • @AsenvaBJD

    as someone who owns and uses(plays with) both of these dolls, barbie joints tend to become loose and kinda useless, one of my dolls leg creaks whenever it bends. I don't have this problem with obitsu at all however, I'm not sure if thats the case with everyone though

      It is a crazy cycle for sure. I think it’s Barbies are considered a name brand toy just like there are name brand purses (doesn’t mean that they are the best in quality for sure, like you said). Of course you can find some that are cheaper/bootlegs online but I think that’s why it is great to show the community other options and compare. Some people may think that Barbie is the only way to go and have never heard of Obitsu dolls before. I think it’s great to see different dolls :)

    I personally don't like the figure shape (mid section) on Obitsus. They feel so disproportionate to me and like they're uncomfortably unrealistic compared to other BJDs and Barbies. Currently btw! They have a curvy Made to Move Barbie that is so beautiful and wonderfully articulated even with the bigger legs and hips!

    I am an Obitsu girl! I love playing with hybrids and have both. I am holding my Obitsu (one of them) she's the one with the hip joint as opposed to the bust and she moves much more than my made to move curvy Barbie who is in my other clammy little paw lol! But of course people who know me will say "you would say that!" Lol..yeah tad biased here! I have been in love with Obitsu for a long time and hybridise them with every head that fits lol. Fashion Royalty is my current favourite but I still love the original Obitsu head and action figure heads on Obitsu bodies. I probably have pictures of them all all over my Instagram lol!
    I have always found that a touch of nail varnish (acetone is the active ingredient) can help with loose joints. If you want a video Integrity Toys, I believe, does one on loose joints and the remedy. Of course you say that immediately after I wrote it - my Great age and senility makes me comment while it's in mind or forever hold my peace lol!

    I have fallen in love with Obitsu... I have a bigger one and I am into customising dolls and I just love the Obitsu bodies.
    This tag through the head is barbaric... I really prefer Obitsu but I think I am hopelessly biased!
    She (Barbie) still has a strange body! I don't think Barbie is true to life whereas the Obitsu looks like the shape of an anatomical body...it's aesthetically pleasing too! Oh you guys have Obitsu... I mean the JunkieSpot...great I don't know if it helps me in the UK but I am wanting another one I want as close to the 1/6th as possible... this one you are speaking about would be accepted though... I just want heaps of dolls now that I have got started!

    • @Foxiepawstotti
      @Foxiepawstotti 5 лет назад

      @@AsenvaBJD yeah I am hoping for more diversity across the board. I can be terribly fickle buying different sizes and types of dolls and bybridizing them. I think what I would like in dolls is more diversity in colour and shape and the fashionista went a good way in trying to achieve this. Now if we could see the same in the BJD world then I would probably buy more bigger dolls but at the moment you get the basic three colour choices and not even that in many and unless you are into buying the bigger sized dolls in vinyl and painting them the desired shade, you are stuck with these. I think it's about time doll makers realised that and made dolls to reflect it. Barbie and Blythe have embraced the curves and, according to the websites I shop on, these seem more popular than the ordinary dolls as they're perpetually sold out. The same goes for ethnic minority dolls which seem to be more popular too. I wish we lived in a world where we didn't still have to have these conversations.
