  • Carmelina is desperate to sell her three-bedroom bungalow so she can return to school…But the property’s been on the market for a month already, and no one’s biting. Sofie says in spite of the home’s charm potential, its mish-mash flooring, oversize furniture (and fish tank), grimy kitchen, and unfinished DIY jobs are a major turn-off for families and first-time buyers.
In order to put some love back into the lifeless property, Sofie comes up with a $4,500 plan for an update with plenty of sparkle. Carmelina is convinced about the changes from the start. And as Anthony and the team neutralize the décor, install uniform flooring, and improve curb appeal, Sofie gives Carmelina tips on presentation, and gives her a hand with cleaning the house from top to bottom. The results are outstanding…

Sofi is the queen of tactfulness. She definitely is a kind person when it comes to interacting with the sometimes clueless homeowners.

Sophie is a good teacher, showing her clients a sample house. I keep watching these because she’s a good designer but she’s also positive. She doesn’t make fun of anyone. I’d love to see her do something know because the style is older now. Love to see what she’d do with newer styles

This was my favorite make-over. The floors sealed the deal.

I do wonder if any of the sellers change their minds after their house has been updated, I know I would be tempted with some of these cuz they're ended up to be beautiful.

Anthony is a designer in his own right. He seems to make a lot of design decisions with floor, entrance way. Later episodes, the contractor teaches DIY but design is mostly done for him. The entrance he made looks so good in the pictures of Sophie sitting in the living room with it behind her.

Sometimes people are just overwhelmed by circumstances and need some help and inspiration..! Obviously she had to go back to school to improve her quality of life!

Not liking the vertical faux asian screen thing, it looks like an unfinished wall. Add open shelving there so at least plants & decorative glass can sit there.

I loved all the changes except the vertical wood bars. Every time they spanned by with the camera, I thought "jail cell." It would be better to wall it in or remove it completely.

Why does she never show the bathrooms in any of her shows? I can only imagine what this bathroom looked like...

I've been having a bit of a binge watch of these - Sophie is much nicer than her sister! - and for all the flaws in her house it's the first I've seen that isn't insanely cluttered and I say that as someone who has far too much clutter myself.

Very nice! Grooming the tree made a huge difference. Jonathan’s screen in the living room was pretty.

Damn, the seller needed a stranger with a camera to tell her to clean her house? And it's a shame that during 8 years, the seller didn't do what ultimately amounted to cosmetic changes to make it nice for HERSELF. She seemed amazed at what paint and new flooring did, when she could have had it like that the whole time and enjoyed the house more.

Too lazy to even wipe down the cabinets or throw out a dead plant. The transformation was amazing for a mere 4500$.

Wonder why they didnt address the back yard deck and the mess strewn all around. You could see it in the beginning of the video and even at the end you could see the mess towards the back of the house.

Those low hanging branches should have been trimmed so the house could be seen.
