- Enter Hop Mode. One of our favorite features Mercedes offers is E-Active Body Control.
Mercedes E-Active Body Control is an active suspension system that controls the vehicle’s air suspension. It adjusts the suspension at each wheel individually to enhance ride quality.
An internal control unit acts as the system’s “brain,” reading the road to send commands to each wheel based on road conditions and driving style.
E-Active is the first suspension that can control the spring and damping forces at each wheel, according to Mercedes.
This makes for an incredibly smooth ride.
In addition, e-active body control contains offroad recovery mode (or as we affectionately call it... Hop Mode). Your Mercedes will start hopping to help you regain traction to get out of sticky situations.

Take a shot every time he says vehicle
1:07 - 1:17 = 7 Shots
I was trying to, then I felt someone tap me on the shoulder, turned around, and it was the floor.

Driving like that is just so gangster!!! 🤣
Love it
Lmao!
"while the vehicle is turning and the vehicle will actually lean the vehicle to make the vehicle not feel like a such large vehicle" 🤣🤣
It leans slightly inwards like a motorcycle would going around a turn as opposed to the natural tendency of tall vehicles without active suspension to lean outwards. It really does make a huge difference both in passenger comfort and driving feel.
I love Mercedes Benz
Nice video. I custom-ordered a 2020 GLE 450 in April I got that exact same leather: Gray Black Nappa Leather. It is awesome. I also have AIRMATIC system. I can make all wheels go up or down together. Sadly not with E Active Body Control. So I cannot control wheels individually. Looks fun though.
Any updates? I am looking at getting a GLE, I have a wife and 2 year old and it feels like a good entry into Mercedes. Did you like it , did you hate it?
Is it air sus or hydraulic ?
Great video!. subscribed.
Is E Active Control worth the money in the S580 sedan? I understand from your video how useful it is for a SUV and especially off road use in one. For the S580, would adding this expensive option work if I were to go with the largest 21" wheels with the thinner performance tires? Would E Active Control in this case make the S580 feel just as comfy as one with the standard 19" wheels and all season tires? Many thanks for your time.
Did you ever get an answer to this? I was thinking the same thing!
@@js272 of course it is helpful, like mbc and it is usable with 4matic
No. Comfort far more influenced by smaller wheels (less unsprung mass) and higher sidewall tyres.
dammmit... I NEED THAT
Something i am realy curious about,is this original from the car?or it is modificated?till where i know the e active body control of this merceds should not do that, btw this is very cool
My 2006 BMW has turn/lean suspension (dynamic drive), I dont understand how it is still not an industry standard on premium vehicles.
So basically they come with factory hydrolics?
I would trade mine in the day before the warranty expire.
Who model is that?
GLS
@@ZimbrickEuropean its amazing car, is it Gls 580 model of 2017 or 2019
vehicle
Germans do it the best that’s why I drive one with the AMG 63 and 2008 SL 550 vintage Mercedes-Benz
I like it how a cheap multitouch function failed to exist in such an expensive vehicle lol
So lowrider with lots of restrictions lol
mercedes e-active body control ok
I bet the x7 can't do that
Watching someone stare directly into the camera while they are driving down a public road is incredibly *anxiety inducing.*
Cant see that lasting long

Interesting how many owners of this Mercedes will go off road on it... close to zero I guess
"INDVIDUALLY CONTROL EACH INDIVIDUAL WHEEL" Wow, this guy has a way with words, he must be very smart.
Air suspension bag is rubber ... so If there is a small hole then cry aloud! ha ha
This guy is terrible at explaining this
