- After a long four months of practicing, I have finally mastered League of Legends' hardest champion: Irelia.

Irelia has the highest skill floor, but skill ceiling is much higher for many other champions, the highest skill ceiling probably lies with Riven.

Coming from someone who's 3rd most played champ is Irelia, Lee Sin and Azir are definitely above her in terms of difficulty. I quit playing these two already, but ill always remember the struggle.
Maximizing the efficiency and power of those two champs require playing unorthodoxically and with methods that were never built into the game when designing them in the first place.
The Insec and its dozen variations were invented, not built into the champ.
The reverse shurima shuffle and the multiple soldier dash was also invented by players, and not built into the champ.
An argument could also be made for Akali and Jayce for their tactical flexibility, but I don't think they're harder than the former. I feel the same level of difficulty playing Akali and Irelia, though I do feel more comfortable with Akali since I play her more.
I usually don't comment but I just couldn't keep myself from cheering you up.
This is just for you to know that the editing, music, story telling and everything in this video was awesome. It was a real joy to watch.
I know how hard and time consuming it is to create this kind of videos.

@@Protye3000 this was actually Bruce Lee's single worst quote ever. It completely stood against his 'be like water' quote that was much more about being the person who practised "10k combos" (1000 kicks or whatever he originally said being replaced by 1000 moves and combos) 1-2 times.

He actually does have another extremely strong ability . His W is probably my most hated ability in the entire game. Veigar's E, and Lulu's polymorph are also there but there is something next level infuriating of getting crippled, slowed, and attack speed slowed by point and click.

For such a small channel this Video was very well edited and had amazing storytelling. Although i hate Irelia I was never annoyed by the bullshit i saw on my screen just because i was too interested in the things you were saying. Not going to lie, this video is really good for explaining how irelia should be played, and gives a solid order of things to practice on with her. I never really tried learning her, just played her here and there, but now i have some direction when i casually pick her up again, thanks :)
irelia is NOT the most difficult champion to play on paper all of her dmg is front loaded and direct, Fiora however is much more difficult to play she relies on vitals to do the vast majority of her dmg, which requires the positioning and kiting of an ADC while also staying within range to still strike, the likes of irelia and riven both have assassin level burst dmg while also having a stun built into their kit, fiora doesnt have these things but still has the skill expression of these two champions making her the hardest melee champion to play.

@@dontflamemepls7256 from a purely mechanical perspective i do believe irelia is the hardest champion in the game, but if you take in other concepts like said kiting and positioning, there are a lot of other champions who rise up to the title of the hardest, but its not really comparable, with how different they play out.
I think irelia is a hard champ, but I think GP and riven are a lot harder to play, that's a big cap with "I Mastered LoL's Hardest Champion"

I think Azir is the hardest champ in the league. Irelias hard, but you can miss everything and kill with one ability.

Honestly, whilst I think Irelia takes a crap ton of mechanical skill to play well, I just feel as though she has far more room for error than a champion like Azir who has just as much combo potential without feeling overtuned. Irelia is one of those champs that focus so hard on their micro that it often obscures the debatably more important macro management of the game from its player. And I’ll say you’ve mastered her when you’re around master elo lol

I think the hardest part about irelia is the macro tho, she has a shitton of mobility but it is mostly offensive, the only way to retreat with her is if there are enemies behind you, which gives her very little room for error since once you jumped you either kill or die

Irelia having room for error? No! You miss your e you miss your q, you are DEAD! How often did I die because a f***ing minion didn't die while weaving with a handful HP left?! Your q is on cooldown with your enemy having one CC skill? Good luck trying to escape. I acknowledge defeat. I would have loved to play her but I just can't.

i mean azir is only macro so he isnt hard mechanically, to see improvements with him is kinda plain and boring because the only thing u learn is how and when to place your soldiers. He literally doesnt have a hard mechanic, the dash is done in 3 tries in practice tool, just get consistent with it

I'm confused. how is Nidalee harder than Irelia? I mean what's hard is hitting those spears on anyone that has their monitor on because its a skillshot with a narrow hitbox but that can be said on anyone who has similar skillshots as well.

I play with 144fps but with 80 ping and I reached Masters, so, it's about the player, not the machine.

Irelia is not a complex character, she is more demanding of mechanics than the usual akali-type champs, but she is not even close to riven, azir, etc. riven has animation cancellation plus mechanics on q plus she often still collects active items, plus she does not play on mid so often, plus she is bad she plays out of the backlog, she has a lot of counterpicks and she can't influence the match as much as the rest of the characters (illaoi urgot sett) just playing passively irelia it was and for now there will still be a disbalance champ who needs to press buttons, but these buttons learn too fast

I'd say Azir is much harder.
Could be an idea.
Combo, put a soldier over a wall, E to it, R then use the dash to go over the wall where you (hopefully) pushed the enemy over into.
And even better if there's a teammate near
Draven is much harder than azir. You are already playing a squishy immobile with no defensive options as soon as you lock in most adcs, but draven takes it even further being a squishy immobile who needs to telegraph where he is going to be, or he does no damage. all of this, in league of instantkill 2023.
Not even the hardest champ if it was Riven or Aatrox I wouldn’t complain
Time to learn qiyana, seems pretty similar with the fact both irelia and qiyana press a lot of buttons and are combo oriented

Just to be clear this is a joke but I love your content
Honestly, I think Riven is the most mechanically challenging champion in the game followed by irelia and then champions like azir, yasuo, nidalee, lee sin, aphelios, to kalista, akali, maybe also zed. Reasoning for that is.. you can learn those champions and be good at them pretty fast, okay, but they have unlimited skill potential and there is a big gap between being good at these champions and utilizing their kit at full potential. And I think Riven is the PRIME example of this.
riven isnt hard. its just she has 8 million combos to memorize. actually executing isn't hard once you put 2 minutes into learning the 4 basic animation cancels.

Mechanically Irelia is not hard, even Bronze player is able to pull ''INSANE KR IRELIA FAST COMBO''.
Irelia is hard, because you have to know how to play her in mid/late game.

K'sante is definitely not hard, you just have to use your brain little bit and practice like one combo and you are good.
Katarina is not hard either. Only hard part about her is ''laning'' with her, but then again that champ doesn't lane, but perma roams so there's that.
Champs that are actually hard to play are those that rely on good positioning and spacing (think about Orianna for example).
Aphelios is not hard at all, neither is Fiora, Ksante Kat or Zeri. None of those require high mechanical skill.
Katarina , zeri , ksante and fiora(with grasp) are not hard

Man I'd love to play irelia and master her, the only problem is that I get about to 07fps in tramfoghts and mostly sit around 20fps in general so it's probably impossible :d

aren't the timings on Riven combos harder to hit right tho? Like you actually have to time spells in certain windows because otherwise you won't be able to cast them, without even mentionning cancels? The standard double cast is fairly easy, but there are other combos that are harder to time right, and there's the fast Q. Stuff like the Shy combo just seem way harder to me than the max dmg Irelia combo

I can agree that irelia has a high skillcap, but a basic combo isn't that hard to pull off and it outdamages most champions 1v1.
Also by having both (insane) mobility, as well as hard cc, you already fall into the category of champs with a broken kit

Well edited video, still one of the rare occasions I dislike though. Irelia to be considered "the hardest champion in the game" is laughable at the least. Yes it takes a lot of skill to master her, but she is one of those champs that even if you fail your combos, you are still likely to win the duel. She has so much room for error, "Oh I missed my E, let me use my infinite flash to get out". Laughable. Just like an aatrox, he might miss ALLLLL of his Qs and still kill you with ease. That's the type of champ irelia is.

irelia is not so hard, its jus that she is extreamly reliant onf mechanics but the biggest problem is that she is not fair, you can just spend hours and hours on the practice tool and becouse you did, you´ll allways be stronger than the enemy, even if they have way more experience and are more skilled with their champ. so she is not a noob champ, but she is unfair, every irelia above gold have almost the same mechanical level, it only changes the macro kinda like garen or malzahar, its just that you needed to spend some time lerning her
I wouldn't say you mastered Irelia as a whole, since your kda is off which probably means you weren't adapting to situations.

Playing him good is stupid easy tbh. He has a good lane phase, crazy kill potential, decent roams, has a easy-mode last hit passive, is the safest assassin in the game while not giving any damage away for that...

I think champion difficulty is subjective. I can't play immobile adcs at all but I pretty much mastered every bruiser
It is. They say Zed and Lee are hard but I can play them very well even if I rarely practice with them. But to this day, I still can't play kayle, even before the remake. It just doesn't click to me.
