- Destroyed in a 1923 race riot, Rosewood was home to a prosperous, majority African American community dating to the late 19th century. "Remembering Rosewood" is a 25 minute video about ongoing research to document the development this important African American community. This video was created in 2010 as part of Edward Gonzalez-Tennant's dissertation research at the University of Florida. You can learn more about this research by visiting the Rosewood Heritage & VR Project (www.virtualrose...). The video is formatted and organized to supplement bus tours to the area, and provides info on the development of Rosewood and the lives of those who survived.
