Marty Paich, Clare Fischer and the Hi-Los were a major informer and former of my becoming a jazz pianist /singer. God bless them all, and bless the person who put the three on RUclips. Oh yes, speaking of Marty Paich, I can't count the number of times I listened to the Dektet and Mel Torme, or shall I say, Mel Torme & the Marty Patch Dektet. I learned all the arrangement, tunes, used them throughout the years. Oh my goodness! A major THANK YOU!
Recorded in Hollywood, California, Summer 1958. On Columbia CL1259 AGOGICALLY SO: Herb Geller get in the alto sax solo. Singer-trumpet player Jack Sheldon apparently-from the album liner notes-solos on trombone! MAYFORTH: Bill Perkins has a nice tenor sax solo; Bob Enevoldsen plays his on the valve trombone; alto sax solo by Herb Geller; and Jack Sheldon again-this time on his trusty trumpet. Clearly, a great post! Thank you. :I:
The absolute greatest male vocal group ever! Check out their greatest arrangement, Bali H'ai, from their album "All Over the Place"! Prepare to be blown away!
My dad owned this album when it first came out. I used to sing along with the Hi-los and had such fun. And what great ear training, even for a 14 year old. Superb recording. The whole album ("And All That Jazz) is classic!
The title claims that this is Mayforth and Agogically So, however it is Mayforth and Some Minor Changes, which was written by Marty Paitch. Agogically So was the final track on side one of All That Jazz by the Hi Los and was written by Mr. Fischer. At least according to the album cover.
@moodmusic1000 @casch0101 BTW, these r CF's compositions as well. Moreover, "Mayforth" (3:23) was composed 4 his firstborn, Lee (born on 5/4; get it?). In fact, each of his 3 kids would get tribute tunes; 4 middle child Brent, it was "Sleep Sweet Child" (see my upload, w/ pics of both Brent & Lee, the latter in the final shot w/ Clare). And 4 the baby, simply "Tahlia" (when u've done so well naming a child, why get fancy?) Sadly, audio 4 the latter's owned by WMG, who blocks all its stuff on YT

Thanks Clare for all the wonderful music!! There will never be another you . . .
Picasso, Puerling and Fischer----all great artists.
The Hi-los are really mind-blowing! What harmony, the orchestra is great too! Excellent stuff at that time, and proving timeless!
Fischer a “Brilliant Musician” and under appreciated!
