yeah okay nerd you got this cool score on snowdream and all but where is the coolest TAS there ever will be that is untracked showoff in under 5 minutes optimized to perfection even beyond the godlike scores of aloha ice jam and this snowdream score. that would be the most perfect TAS ever created and noone will ever understand how unbelievable it is and how perfect untracked is as a track even by ssx tricky standards

And you left some on the board at the end...still sick run. The rhythm section up top where you flip and keep your Uber going by riding the rail in the flip...genius. I had a 1.9 or 2 on my memory card I would’ve sworn was tough to beat, but obviously there’s 3.3 MiL on this MFer

You know the trick you use to go backwards up the track really fast
Could you use this on the practice level?(were you practice the trick book) I always tried to turn around and get to the top of that level as a kid
definitely - just get an awkward landing like I do in the video, and start holding jump+a prewind direction. How much you turn depends on whether you use boost or not, but note that the direction you prewind will affect where you go
are you playing this on a emulator if yes which one? great stuff btw this game is the g.o.a.t of my childhood

@@kelecat7094 Ah just realized it's the gamecube version, i saw you only have some videos for the ps2 version (at least i think so) are you using pcsx2 for these? I'm not really familiar with gc at all.
This is awesome! Is there a reason you do those first flips on the rail from switch? Wouldn't you get more points the other way? I figure there must be some reason you do it that way.
you get bonus points switch tricks on rails. no idea why, but it's enough to justify using the slower flips of switch stance

i also figured it out after 2-3 year later when i played this game.
@@kelecat7094 is it only on rails, or do switch tricks always get a bonus? Is the bonus flat or does it scale with the trick?
@@garagavia i think the bonus is flat, but it's definitely only on rails. nowadays i think the reason is to make up for the fact that goofy-stance riders are considered "switch stance" every time they get on a rail sideways, so they make up for their slower flip speed with that point bonus

Japanese version of the game.. so this is why you're 5 seconds ahead of my garibaldi record..
there's no difference in language, only thing that changes is one specific fence in snowdream, which behaves weirdly on gamecube (any language) only
how do you avoid riding the rail but keep "bouncing" off it to do tricks? Also notice sometimes you can bounce off walls and objects without wiping out
bouncing off the rail comes from a lot of precision. Jumping in the perfect spot allows me to go along the shape of the rail while performing tricks, and it gives me more airtime than I would get from taking the ramp normally. (despite how it looks, a period of bouncing like that is treated as one big stretch of airtime)
the "walls and objects" are only specific kinds of objects in the world, including billboards, rocks, and really anything else that isn't a "floor". hitting those carefully allows you to bounce on them just like with the rail
The JP version doesn't have Rahzel but everything else is in English? Blasphemy.
rahzel's in there! the narrator and menu voices are all translated, but all other audio is still English

Why don't you crash into shit like rails and that lamp post while doing Uber tricks? Is that a cheat or a benefit of the Uber board? Also, what does the master skin do? I couldn't find this info anywhere!
Would love to see some ssx1 speedrun stuff, but since it hasn't been done on this channel, im guessing its not speedrunable.
