I really love and prefer the movie, and i am sad they didn't make city of ashes. But the tv show also deserves the support and attention too. All the actors really did a good job in performing their roles very well . 🖤
I think the movie wasn't that good. Y'know, Hollywood making Hollywood and all. They didn't make justice to the books. It was just so many characters and subplots and details to fit in only two hours. If only the exact cast you said were in the TV series, we should be going somewhere.

The Lightwood siblings from the show are more like I imagined them from reading the books, but otherwise I vastly prefer the movie cast. Jamie is the perfect Jace, he got the charm, the cockiness, the rockstar attitude, everything. And his chemistry with Lily was (obviously) great. I also loved Aidan Turner as Luke and movie Hodge was much more like in the book. Simon was good in both, but Robert Sheehan is just a really funny guy and I love his interviews. The only choice I wasn't sold on in both the movie and the show was Valentine. I imagined him quite differently to both actors. He was too old for the role, but just from his energy more someone like Jeremy Irons.
I honestly think movie Alec was the worst casting choice in the history of cinema. I'm not mad at the actor, he's just so wrong for that part. When I finally saw who was casted for the tv show I screamed in relief "that's my Alec!!!!"
