Wow! You never cease to amaze me. A complete line review of El tequilino with Tony Salles and Greg and John. A great additive free Tequila at a fantastic price point. Fabulous work by a panel of experts.
What a tremendous host you are and I can't even begin to understand the privilege you must feel having this esteemed gentleman of agave visit with you.
It absolutely was a fantastic evening, he's such a down to earth, wonderful and warm person. It really was a pleasure having him in my home. We were hanging out, and he was just one of the guys.
That’s so awesome you had Tony up there. We know members of his family, have been drinking El Tequileño for years. We were some of the first guests to stay at Casa Salles and had an amazing stay there. Tony personally gave us the full tour and a tasting. It’s a must see for any tequila fans. Gran Reserva is my everyday sipper. For me, it is one of my absolute favorites. Love the Rare for special occasions.
Wow what timing! I just tried their Gran Reserva repo and it is delicious! Can't wait to try the Repo rare and their newer projects will surely be great too!
Thank you, I'm having a lot of fun doing this. I think it's more fun when you don't have any financial dealings or incentives involved, and you could just be yourself and roll with the punches. Thank you for watching
@@longislandloutequila7208 a question the cristalino what has happened to it for this brand it wasn't in the line up - I have a bottle not opened yet and im curious
@AndrewSmith-ef7hq - neither of us had one of those on hand, and Tony didn't have one to bring. This cristalino. as much as I hate cristalinos, is one of two that I would drink. His in the Volcan, as they have no additives whatsoever and it makes it more palatable. It's still not my thing and I wouldn't go reaching for it, but actually it's somewhat drinkable.
@@longislandloutequila7208 thanks for the reply yes I have the Volcan too so it seems I'm in esteemed company take care and carry on reviewing I love this
When I started searching for really good Tequila which is hard to find in Ontario I found the El Tequileno Gran Reserva Repo I loved it and still do I actually have a little stash of 3 bottles at the moment
Omg.. I’m so jealous my friend. I was just up in Wantagh for my God sons communion. It’s on my bucket list to not only go to his distillery but to meet you my Mentor in person. Much love for everything you do. FYI.. RR is one of my favorites. It’s a hidden gem that has maintained its low price. 😁
great video as always Lou. We would certainly love more of this. Just a little tip. Seating everyone more in a square or semi circle so that you can talk to each other instead of to the camera would make it more cosy, just like following the conversation of 4 friends of tequila ar home :)
By far one of my favorite tequilas. I actually was turned on to them by a tequila specialist in Folsom a few year back. Since then, I have been hooked and now keep it as a staple in my bar to share with friends to show them what REAL tequila tastes like.
Great video, Lou, Tony Salles is one of favorite master distillers. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the Anejo GR over the Repo Rare.😏
Lou, the Sassenach bottles have dropped a lot in price online. $50 a bottle at Hi Times Wine in Costa Mesa CA and $58 a bottle at Glendale Liquors in CA. I’m ordering two today with some Mala Vida repo at $40 a bottle.
Very cool to hear Tony talk about Batangas at La Capilla. I got a pic of me holding up their 3L while they were making my Batanga at La Capilla. It tastes like boozy ice tea! I had them make mine with sugar free coke cuz' we didn't need the sugar if you know what I mean ;)
That's the way they've always done it from the beginning. They're heavy duty train car parts, that were converted to one of the first autoclaves, and they cook at a very low pressure. They go very slow, which makes it very close to using an oven.
Just came across this video. Does anybody know why the 100% agave blanco is so much more expensive than the first reposado they tasted that was also 100% agave?
@@longislandloutequila7208 it was cool to learn the distillery from 1959 ? That kinda info wb cool for TMM to add to each distillery page, the startup date.
El Tequileño is outstanding. It’s very popular and affordable here in Mexico. I love it. More people should know about it. Thanks Lou.

❤️❤️
1:58 I love you Lou.. hahaha always finding for an excuse to drink Tequila😂
I have tried the Gran Reserva Reposado and Reposado. Love them both. The Reposado will be my go to daily sipper. So good.
Throughly enjoyed this video! Visiting the region is high on my bucket list! Love me some rare!
Let's go Lou and NY
Really cool video. Wish it was more widely available in the Chicagoland area!
Great product and it’s priced phenomenally for the quality!

my 2nd favorite tequila after Fortaleza
Salud to all of you 🥂🥂
Great stuff Lou; what glasses are you using and where can one buy? Thx!
They're just Glencairn whiskey glasses, you can get them anywhere

It is, and Tony's a great guy. His distillery is a great place to visit, been there 2x
Great video, Lou, Tony Salles is one of favorite master distillers. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the Anejo GR over the Repo Rare.😏
Let me tell you something, if you saw my face, I thought it was amazing as well. Maybe for the price difference... I might have to agree.
@@longislandloutequila7208 Was that your first time trying the Anejo GR?
- no but it's been awhile since I had any

I got a bottle of that Sassenach Select when they first hit for 102...

Exactly, I was just telling Lucas today, on his post, that I don't like very sweet mixed drinks
Tequileño is great. But why they don't use bricks oven? My understating is they only used autoclave.
That's the way they've always done it from the beginning. They're heavy duty train car parts, that were converted to one of the first autoclaves, and they cook at a very low pressure. They go very slow, which makes it very close to using an oven.
Hey Lou! Have you tried Casa Azul tequila? Not Clase azul that Is nasty haha but Casa Azul
No I haven't, but I'm not a really big fan of that Distillery. Everything there tastes the same.. vanilla cream soda
Just came across this video. Does anybody know why the 100% agave blanco is so much more expensive than the first reposado they tasted that was also 100% agave?
Why does my TW in Phx charge $30 more than NY for the Repo Rare????
No idea
I been sayin this for a long time piloncio
Right behind you is the Fortaleza shortage right there
🤣🤣🤣🤣💯
you guys keep cutting Tony of when he speaks. damn loud gringos let the master speak
Off the hook cool ! Easily in the top 10 of all tequila distilleries !
Agree.. old school
