I call mine the BEAST cuz that's exactly what it is, I never thought I'd see an electric impact gun with more power than air impact guns let alone a cordless one and I absolutely love that its cordless because one of the biggest drawbacks in my mind when using my air impact gun is running the air hose around and getting it snagged on tires and tripping over it and running my creeper into it, so having this cordless one is just great and another nice thing is I don't have to air up my big 60 gallon air compressor to use it I just pop a battery into it and it's ready to go! This impact gun is one of my favorite cordless tools!
I own the previous version and you are quite correct about the respect. I used the wrong size socket for a lug nut once. Thought "no biggie, close enough". Stripped the lug nut in about 2 seconds. Also snapped off a pretty thick bolt on my lawn mower blade because I didn't stop tightening it. Torque bars are your friend.
Agreed. This is why I sold mine and got the mid torque lol. When I’m working on cars usually the last thing on my mind is this thing has 1000 ft lbs of torque. It’s cost me quite a few bolt heads and lug nuts ( and TIME ).
Using it for 2 months now (1/2" high impact) (2+ yrs auto tech): Pros: 1.Very strong (taken out bolts and nuts that air impacts couldn't take off) 2. somewhat more quiet than an air impact ( plus no more compressor noise) 3. Mobile (can be used outside) 4. No air hoses ( does save time over time and less walking around!) 5. Built in light, its not that bright but it was very useful time to time 6. 5 years warranty and the place i bought warranties it for an additional year for free 7. Pretty good battery life (5 amps and I rarely charge it but I guess I only use it for taking off tires, axle nuts, rust welded shits and crank pulley bolts) Cons: 1. Heavy, Heavier it goes with more amps (i use 5 amps and feels like 12 Lb on my hand). I think my and shop air impacts are half the weight. 2. Price (+600 w/ taxes CAD) i bought the two 5 amps batteries and charger combo *3. Tighten to reverse button is right above the trigger (w/ no locks) which can be problematic when doing tires, this gun snapped the stud right off once and i didn't even realize it until i put the tires back on. I hope there's a lock on when reverse or tighten similar to m12 ratchets since this one has at least 700+ torque (the box says 1400+ torque?, I don't buy that shit)
Use the autoshut off feature, it will help you just snug up bolts and then you can use a torque wrench to finish tightening to the final torque specs for your vehicle
I like mode 4 for removing older car lugs that have been taken off and put on a lot and have gotten a little deformed over time because then they don't get stuck inside the socket to where you have to pound the end of the socket on the ground to get them out, with mode 4 it loosens them and then slows down and allows me to wiggle the socket around a little while they are still on the wheel stud to free them up in the socket so when I pull the lug nut all the way off it doesn't get stuck in the socket.
I used ruclips.net/user/postUgkx4ynqaujg7rZKFapA8s29kTpRszJGa3-K this for the first time today to replace the front wheel bearing on my rwd 98 dodge dakota. This had absolutely no issue removing or reinstalling the lug nuts and it took off the axle nut without any struggle. Sounds like it's got some muscle to it. Time will tell
Picked up one of these to give my 1/4" hex impact a rest while working on snow plow blades. It works well even with banged up, rusted, salt rotted nuts and bolts.
Mines a lil over kill for the shop I work at it's usually on 2 I turned it up to 3 a few times to loosen things quickly but I've never needed that setting for the power
I just earlier today placed an order for the kit that comes with the detent ball not realizing it was a weaker gun. Thankfully I saw this video and was able to cancel the previous order and order the more powerful gun!

kwmiked The pin detent should not have more torque. It might have more IPM, but they have to limit the power because the anvil is not as strong because of how the pin detent is drilled through.

How does this hold up compared to the matco brushless 1/2 I've been looking to upgrade and mikwaukees price is more appealing but the matco seems to have a bit more power is it worth the big price difference
I’ve just bought the gen 2 model and have found when removing bolts the gun stutters for a second before removing the bolt. It’s really annoying, is there a way for it not to stutter by any chance I know on the gen 1 one key there was a way to have 100% power when removing bolts by adjusting the mode via the app but obviously there’s no one key function on the gen 2.
John Chung We have had both, the gen 1 and the mid-torque for a while and the mid-torque is used four to one over the larger impact. Why use the larger one unless it is needed when you have both. But we work on cars week in and week out. Not everyone will buy both. We could not get by with just the mid-torque as we need more power often... So if you just had one, this would be it.
Unlike your normal ratchet, the pin detent on these is meant to be used in conjunction with the hole in your socket and you would need to use an object to push the pin in so you can remove the socket. That would stop the socket from accidentally falling from height and hitting a worker on the ground.

Hi If Im going to just buy one which one should I get for diy own vehicle use only. Mid or high torque? My lug nuts spec torque is only 85 ft/lb. I’m also planning to do some upgrades in my mid size truck too in the future. Thanks
WorkshopAddict i mean for example lug nuts or bolts/nuts that I don’t mean to break but just to loosen it and install it back. Should I just use setting #1 for fastening small bolts/nuts and feel it and for loosening can I go up to setting #3 disregarding bolts/nuts size? In general use.
@@VJTrey1 start out by tightening on one and learning the tool. You will quickly move to 2 and use a pulse with your finger and the trigger. Watch the socket starting to slow when the fastener gets tight. Do not hammer on it when it stops moving. Removing fasteners can be done on 2 and 3. Again, blip the trigger if you are worried about breaking a fastener and do not sit and hammer at full force. The socket will tell you what it happening by moving or not.

Can anyone tell me what type of sockets I need to get for friction ring? I got my dad one but all the socket I've tested dont fit.
How do you know they lowered the torque? On Amazon the product description says the same 1400 lbs/1000 same with the hog ring
I've been looking for the case Part number. Guys can you post the case part number
just bought one. which mode would you suggust for tightening lugs on a chevy 2500hd? im scared about overtighening
Use it on rusty semi wheels that have been hit with a 1 inch using the 3 second rule then review it
So did you were able to take those old lugs from that old semi truck or not?
Easily
Awesome impact, a lot of power #workshopaddict
why is the pin detend ment for working higher up? where is the advantage of that?
Unlike your normal ratchet, the pin detent on these is meant to be used in conjunction with the hole in your socket and you would need to use an object to push the pin in so you can remove the socket. That would stop the socket from accidentally falling from height and hitting a worker on the ground.
Ok, now i get it. Thanks for the quick response. 👍
When Will it be out and how much are they going to be
Should be shipping soon! here is the link to Home Depot. www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-Fuel-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-1-2-in-Gen-II-High-Torque-Impact-Wrench-with-Friction-Ring-5-0-Ah-Kit-2767-22/302675438
WorkshopAddict when will the new fuel brushless motor ratchet be out
I heard Sept. 2017 is the time frame for all the new goods to hit the public.
Timothy Mcvay I am going to guess October.... My memory is failing me on that item...
ok ill go with November, who ever guesses right gets a free one.
So it mode 3 full power without auto mode?
does anyone know the 2767 tightening torque for the 3 different modes?
my 3/8 model came with max torque values for tightening modes
24 volts?
It comes in one key also...
That model is not out yet, that we know of.
It sort of makes you question Milwaukee's commitment to One Key. If it is so great why continue to produce two version of all the new tools?
That's incredible.# workshopaddict
Anyone snapped a bolt while loosening with this?
Hi If Im going to just buy one which one should I get for diy own vehicle use only. Mid or high torque? My lug nuts spec torque is only 85 ft/lb. I’m also planning to do some upgrades in my mid size truck too in the future. Thanks
Mid-torque would cover everything but suspension. If you plan to lift it, go high torque.
WorkshopAddict thanks I’m planning to lift it. I’m worried about stripping or breaking some nuts and bolts. Any tips/advice for high torque? Thanks
@@VJTrey1 if you were to strip or break any of the bolts while removing them they should be replaced anyway.
The socket will tell you what it happening by moving or not.
does anyone know how long a 2.0 battery would last in this mid torque?
What is the max torque setting in ft lbs for modes #1 - #2 - #3 respectively ?
Thanks
We go over this in the video. These is no number as it changes between the different fasteners and sizes.
Thanks, I watched your video again (thumbs up) and with truck lug nuts, you stated mode #1 is about 100 ft lb and mode #2 is 140 ft lb
@@InCountry6970 on lugs specifically.
@2strokesmoke81 You can set it to what? The lug setting that is close to within 25%?
Is the 2767-20 the same tool?
Any word on when dewalt will come out with a gen 2 competing model?
dylan walhof Not yet. The Dewalt Tool event is this coming week.
dylan walhof
Dewalt and Ford are both pure crap
petrolhead2226
They dont say Made in USA... Stop pushing ur bullshit
at 0:54 the wrench rests on that impact socket. what size is that impact socket. i need one.
The 1-1/2" that was used to remove the nut on the floor?
no, the other black impact deep socket, looks like a 7.5inch drive.
danny yo Lol. The water pipe?
What socket set is that in the background????
Sonic Tools
Old news now they got better
How Just picked up one ?
Do they pay you guys???
Hopefully they won't start putting that base LED on a lot of tools, I hate that LED placement #workshopaddict
BMack37 Allow us to turn it off, or down like the DeWalt Dcd996.
What socket set was that?
Great Review !#workshopaddict
How is this compare to the dewalt?
Milwaukee has a large edge over Dewalt at this time.
dang0088 da selling my Dewalt DCF899 on eBay right now for 5 days, bidding is up to $140.00 at the moment! Ordered a Milwaukee 2863 today, the one key version of this one. It will be here on the 19th. If you want to look on eBay, it’s under user named ammamujo123
How is the torque measured. No way thag little impact makes more than a duramax diesel
Keanu Brierly ha! Awesome question. Vehicle torque is measure with horsepower and RPM’s. This kind of torque is Force perpendicular x Lever arm.
that mid torque or full
That full.
Do you recomend 3/4 or 1/2
depends on the work you are doing.
They are a great tool but they still aren’t an air replacement for a professional tec. They’re extremely heavy and slow compared to air. Also my 1/2 air will take bolts off or break off bolts my Milwaukee won’t.
Air impacts have gotten cheaper so you can pretty much get one under 100 dollars!
@@easfancalifornia1787 yes they have, I haven’t bought one in over a decade though. I take care of mine and they are holding up well. I get that cordless are handy and way more powerful than they used to be. However I get really sick of all these Milwaukee fan boys thinking nothing can touch them. It’s absolutely false. I’ve got many Milwaukee tools but I know what they’re good for and what they’re not. Many of these young kids don’t know how much lighter, smother and more powerful a good air impact can be. If you’re a auto mechanic good air pressure and volume is always in the shop so cordless has little to no advantage other than going beyond air hose reach.
@@jeffclark5024: don’t get me wrong air impacts will continue to be the number one choice of a mechanic at a auto shop! I’d say cordless power tools are more for DIYers or moblie mechanic on the go
It's the same as the harbor freight Bauer 😋
2:44 What M18 Impact model would you suggest for Automotive work?
Ducati Dude Every day work we like the Milwaukee Mid-torque.
WorkshopAddict --> Tnx for the advice... ✔
Same here the mid torque I use more
I destroy a lot of bolts with this monster
How is this a game changer its only 200lbs more, now if was 2000ft lbs then it might be game changing i hope Dewalt doesn't do the same thing
I think Brian and Jeff are relatives.
