I found out I have no idea how to play terraria
I think if you're playing terraria like this accidentally, then you're doing something wrong @@drantigon
@@ashoka7273 I've actually never played Terraria at all. Weird for me to be here, I know

I thought bubblegum blocks were silt at first, and was thinking "wait, can you find silt in patches THAT big?" right up until I saw the spider chest and it clicked
It's cobweb? Damn. Everyone thought it was silt, hah.
I also thought it was silt dang

I'd say Paint Scraper is ok. It's useful, but you won't be scraping the whole world any time soon.
exactly. it'll also change it up a little to be more bearable during hard mode.
although this is 71-years-of-Stardew-Valley Wand of Sparking we're talking about. we can't discount the insane time sink that's possible yet
Paint scraper should be allowed, because good luck scraping everything. It will definitely help, but won’t be game breaking since everything else is still invisible
Tip: You can get way stronger ammo early game by throwing wooden arrows into shimmer for shimmer arrows
Yeah but then they fall up so they can require a bit of practice with ‘em
@@Terra_Eggnot to mention the fact that aiming down also sometimes has the downside of *g r o u n d*
Somebody oughta tell red to add an explosive immunity accessory sold by the demolitionist asap
It would make dynamite spam the most effective form of combat until late hardmode
@@Squishrug by late hardmode you wouldn't have a world lol. unless you cover everything with chests or hardmode ore.....
@@Squishrug make it post-moonlord for it to be useless for combat
@@krinnge if it were post-moonlord it would be useless, period. if you're looking to destroy your world in PML you would just get a celebration mkII and rockets that destroy tiles and you can destroy blocks from a much safer distance that way. if you wanted to make it useless for combat you could make it cause thrown bombs to deal no damage to _anything_ as opposed to just yourself.
I think sold by the demolitionist it would be too easy to get. Dropped by an enemy maybe? I'm thinking clowns but they don't show up until hard mode, so it should be some other enemy with bombs.
7:40 Now I'm really wishing there was an ocean tunnels biome instead of just a cave
Calamity go brr
Thorium and Clam Tea have you covered
Actually a lot of overhaul mods want to do something with the oceans, we all collectively understand there's not enough going on there. Even the Guide does. "I don't like the ocean, there's not much to accomplish."
@@StarfloofleClam Tea is going to be my fav nickname from now on.
@@timguo6858 There is, unfortunately, no clamshell emoji, or else I would exclusively refer to it in hieroglyphs like a forbidden text.
it makes you think just how much shimmer breaks a randomized block world like this, now imagine if shimmer existed when you did the "randomized every boss" world
I've been playing in a randomized world (altough I can see) and my generation was mainly composed of "unnatural blocks". For example the corruption had asphalt instead of grass and crystal blocks. The snow turned into pink collapsable dungeon bricks and glowing pink glass blocks. All sand is crimson with only a few natural patches and dirt got turned into sapphire and stone into activated blocks.
Underground there are a lot of stone slabs and stucco bricks of different colors.
The most striking ones are the giant trees. All the leaves got turned into "anti portal blocks" (I had no idea those existed) and the wood is glowing blood red glass bricks. It's so uncanny and cool.
It was so fun having to find the normal blocks and I managed to find dirt that replaced the seashell piles that you find at sea. I mean I got excited for dirt!!!
Another fun but tedious thing is that I have to create artificial biomes all over the place. Like an artificial corruption with corrupted grass.
In the end I feel like I spawned in a completely "modernized" world that lacks nature and it's all concrete and glass. Cold and desolated but I am managing to create little patches of nature everywhere. The world is healing!!
Funny enough the ash got turned into leaves and apparently it can hold lava no problem. The hell houses also look brutalist and cold which is such a cool new look for the underworld.
A great but tedious run.
honestly, it seems like the paint scraper will be a necessary tool here, plus it's not so fast that it feels like cheating. I say "use it"
You WORKED for that paint scraper; use it at will!
I think ending the series at Plantera would be a very good idea. Not much to see past that point, and getting to that point and wearing the goggles seems like a much better ending for this run than Moon Lord could ever be.
I honestly think using the paint scraper is okay, because the range and speed of use is low enough to be fair, its about the same effectiveness as mining and placing the blocks back, if not slightly slower
26:45 straight up Charlie Chaplin sketch
I'd say Mr. Bean
sounds to me like either slush or silt was turned into bublegum
Silt is better than my guess, I was gonna go with gold ore.
My guess was Marble or Granite, but I guess that's too good.
My guess would also be silt, that or cobwebs.
huh, i thought it was clay
@determineddaaf3 You could be right about cobwebs, actually. As it seems at 17:10 they are saying there's a link between spider caves and bubblegum
I love how his member only videos are basically normal videos because of that guy who donated member subscriptions

Noting in the middle of a battle against a hellish abomination that “damn, these coins & lava look cool” was an unexpectedly sweet moment
Have you ever considered doing a terraria playthrough where you collect every banner? It seems pretty similar to some of the stardew runs you do.
sounds interesting but that would take forever
in stardew it's interesting because there's so many different things you need to do in terraria it's just going to be 100 hours of "i sat and waited for (insert enemy) to spawn
4:58 invisible cacti... big problem.
Stuff of nightmares.
i previously had an idea where the normal paint scraper shouldn't be allowed, but the spectre paint scraper should, but now that I think about it, I think it should just be allowed in general to make this challenge a little easier
I don't see how he's getting ectoplasm man. It would be a great goal to work toward were it not for that
@@whs1pmjazz yeah i realized that, plus post-plantera you can just get the echo goggles or whatever they're called from the cyborg anyway
Wow, only eight days after, the second part. I'm impressed.
I thought the bubble gum would have been silt
5:27 maybe instead of immune to your own, just makes them deal no damage to anything so it doesn’t turn them to a risk free aoe weapon from the word go, but just into a mining tool
A video we all wanted to see but sadly can see very little of
Glad you’re making videos a lot now. Missed ya during those 71 years
I think the paint scraper is fair game. IMO the most satisfying part of this playthrough is the slow revealing of the outlines of the world, which you’ve done a bit of with torches, placed blocks, sand, liquids, flares, etc. but is *way* more practical with the scraper. I doubt you’d use it for ~everything~ (or even want to), but for commonly-trafficked areas (hellevator, shimmer, arenas, paths, etc.) make sense. Slowly reclaiming certain areas
Half the point of this challenge is to be invisible, though. If he makes things visible, then the challenge isn't as challenging or surprising.
@@amazingfireboy1848 well, he still needs to interact with the block for it to be visible so i'd say its fair game
@@desertdesmond6736 he can just mine it and then place it back
I think it's fine to use the paint scraper. It still requires deliberate effort on your part to determine what's there, and can't just easily reveal everything to you.
I wonder if you kept a copy of the original world file so you could do a side-by-side and compare what block became what
I mean the paint scraper is just a shortcut for picking up the blocks and placing them back. It’s not like a Clentaminator or anything.
I can respect how the music syncs up with the in-game audio at 5:05.
Respect for noticing that
I think no paint scraper. It feels like it trivializes half the challenge. It's more interesting revealing the outline bit by bit with your own blocks and water and dropped items. I also feel like it will reduce the reveal at the end with the glasses
This video made me realise how much pain I am about to go in my current all items run because of those block names I never saw in my whole life(+ some other stuff, it's basically 100% run I already have all of the achivements), I am still in pre-hardmode and also sweeping the wiki for pre-hardmode items to make sure hardmode drops won't make pre-hardmode drops almost non-existent, wish me luck I am fishing like a lunatic don't try it, it's the definition of raw pain.
This whole world reminds me of that one level from Super Mario 3D World
I feel like the paint scraper should be fair game is it not only makes the challenge a bit less painful but it will also make the world look much goofier
23:00 I did a playthrough where the spawn rate and cap are "unlimited", so NPCs would spawn once per tick up to the NPC limit whenever there was ground for them to spawn on. Had some pretty funny implications, like enemy farming being trivial, the pain of getting town NPCs an open slot to spawn in, and getting Tim banners constantly.
I think this is an enjoyable series to watch, so I'd definitely love to see it continued, assuming your sanity can take it lol. As far as the paint scraper goes, I don't see an issue as its not really revealing anything blocks faster than just mining them. But i guess it would allow you to see the shape of the patches in the world and more easily figure what they are replacing, so I guess it boils down to whether you personally enjoy having to figure that out on your own or not.
It would be really interesting to turn the block visibility back on! It would probably look crazy after all the bombing! Once you're finished with the playthrough of course
This playthrough looks like an absolute nightmare, its also incredibly fun to watch. Thanks WoS!
I know this series is a nightmare for you, but boy it is enjoyable to watch! Thanks for continuing.
If you find a skeleton merchant, getting a lot of spelunker glowsticks would help a lot with finding ores/life crystals/chests etc underground. When the blocks are all invisible, they do the same thing as a spelunker potion, that yellowy gold particle effect.
Amazing video as always! Looking forward to the final video where we can see the whole world in all it's chaos
Keep up the amazing work!
Your music choice is top notch my dude
The rolling Cacti being invisible until they roll is absolutely evil
I think the paint scraper should be allowed because I feel like hardmode will be super tedious even with the use of it. I'd rather these videos come out faster than you suffering.
True, but I feel like it removes from like half of the entire idea of the challenge.
What if no scraper, but paintgun inste- no, wait, infinite money glitch on the left side of the world. Nevermind..
I think my favorite part was the escort quest to get the guide into the lava, for some reason it had me laughing pretty hard!
I think the paint scraper is fine to use, just not too much since it might take away from the challenge a bit. Also mostly because I really just want putting on the glasses at the end to be as cathartic as possible lol, but don't think about it too much, this challenge looks infuriating so I don't mind if you use it when things are just getting completely absurd
I vote the paint remover is fair game in landmark areas like your home base, the dungeon entrance, and the shimmer. That way we can see some of the wackiness without ruining the core of the challenge.
this series is very fascinating to watch, i didnt know half these blocks existed. i think you should be allowed to use the paint scraper if only because it makes areas look even stranger with patches of visible blocks
22:58 I've gotten every item on a journey mode character once, Devourers weren't an issue, but the Lunatics, Blood Squid (boss minions summoned by Dreadnautilus), and Dreadnautilus (not technically a boss, so it has a banner) itself were a pain
Edit: pausing the video to read the rest of the patches, being able to make the third banner for whichever of Crawdad, Shelly, and Salamander doesn't spawn in your world removes one of the few items that are impossible to get in a single world, except for unique worlds. Neat
Video idea: You equip the gravity globe at the start and have to play upside down. You can use the gravity globe normally when you have the gravitation buff or after you defeat moon lord. I'm currently doing a playthrough like this and it brings some interesting obstacles to the game.
At least mimics will be easy to spot in this world.
i had a poor guess, i was guessing that bubblegum was once marble/granite
As soon as you said the honey looks kinda creepy I knew your armour would troll you XD
this is so cool, would love to see it continue
If the paint scraper makes it easier for you to continue the challenge, do it! I really wanna see the goggles reveal
I think the paint scraper should be allowed, as it's just a different way of pickaxing the blocks.
There's little difference between using the paint scraper and just placing your own blocks. However, out of priciple, I think the scraper should be avoided or limited.
I thought it was a kind of mossy stone that became bubblegum, but cobweb makes more sense
I’m loving this series. It’s so out there for terraria. I don’t know if you want to continue it, but if you do, I will gladly watch
Absolutely wild series, even if we don't continue the actual playthrough I hope to still see the world with the goggles on.
I think the block in hell could have been ash grass.
Absolutely loved this challenge! Please make more
i think painting is fine
It always feels like just using Featherfall would solve all of your problems. Can't dodge spin? Featherfall can. Can't reach the wall that high? Featherfall can. You can hold down to get normal fall speed again, or hold up to go even higher. It lasts a long time, too.
With summoning Plantera, you'll probably have to make an artificial jungle. You can buy evil biome seeds from the Dryad during a blood moon, put them on mud, then purify them. Or you can get a glowing mushroom biome somehow, buy mushroom seeds from the Dryad, and shimmer them. Once you make a good-sized farm and sleep, you should get a bulb every 15 minutes or so, with the added benefit of fast life fruit.
I think it'd be entirely fair to allow the use a scraper to mark pathways and important locations. It's not like you can do anything else with, you know? I mean, it's entirely possible to scrape every block, sure, but that would be both boring and take forever so it's not like you'd do that anyway.
You should allow paint scraper
The horseshoe really is a huge improvement
Honestly a fun guessing game of what block became what.
I thought bubblegum was clay, since it's fairly common in patches but what you said now makes sense lol
Love it, and would love to see the painful process that will be plantera
15:40 sick shot, bet that felt really good at the time.
I guessed slush or soot, one of those falling blocks you can extract. the correct answer didn't even cross my mind.
Yea in modes like this were it is so brutal the ability to cheat back is kind of satisfying.
That failed wall fight was very cool agreed.
Thanks for all the hard work! I want to see what the world looks like at some point.
With no dungeons Plantera is the final boss accessible right?
So either have to spawn in a matter manipulator and craft any Moonlord tablets or end it there. Without Golem, Moonlord is still defeatable but would just be a different kind of challenge.
I could see Post Moonlord being better since you'd have access to true flight. I don't remember it existing prior to Duke but is he available?
The fact that stone was replaced by ice means hard mode ore will still spawn there
I absolutely adore this idea (And the suffering that comes with it c:)
thought the bubblegum was silt at first but then thought that 600 was ridiculous for a single spot, cobwebs with a spider cave maybe?
turns out he revealed it like 2 mins after i wrote this comment
This may be miserable to play on, but it's amazing to watch!
I'd say the paint scraper is okay.
it's not like you're going through the world with a clentaminator that removes paint from blocks.
Cool stuff in that world, thank you for the video :D
I love how the only goal so far is to find bubble blocks
love this series!
I'd be fine with the paint scraper being allowed if you can only use it on blocks you've already identified.
Imo don’t use the paint scraper at all until you get to Plantera(somehow) so the cyborg npc can sell you the echo glasses then if you somehow manage to beat Moon Lord, or get stuck at a boss that might be impossible, then you may use the echo glasses to see how the world you spawned in has grown over time
Edit: YEA make Plantera the final boss of this world with how annoying it’ll be to summon
i definitely think the paint scraper should be allowed full time because its limited enough in its use to just barely be better than mining and replacing blocks. its enough to be a help without removing the challenge
15:38 holy shit that was awesome
My vote's the paint scraper is allowed. Even upgraded, it would be a royal pain to try and clean up enough to be really useful, so using it however much you're actually willing is just a small bit in the grand scheme of things.
Great music as usual
Thank you for going through all the pain for our entertainment🙏
NO paint scraper! Takes away the mystery
I feel like the paint scraper is a convience item since it's job would be replicated by just breaking and placing the same block down. It would just be mroe convenient to use so you can mark where youve got pits
Pain scraper should be fair game, you have to manually scrape it anyway
Your left ocean really just wanted to play Calamity.
imagine if someone made a tool where 1 type of block becomes visible after each boss kill. THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!
I vote against the paint scraper. While @evanvollbrecht541 comment is correct on how the scraper is limited in reach, i still think that it takes a lot of challenge out of the challenge. The entire point of this is that blocks are invisible, and that they'll be revealed after a certain milestone. Why "break the magic" and get to see whatever whenever? Then, the reclamation point of Evan's comment, i think, ties back into my previous argument. You can already reclaim by building/placing torches. And it doesn't just reveal the world with one click, thus making it boringly easier
*ahem* WOOOO HOOOO! I freaking love these terraria playthroughs
Making the area around your base should be fair game, but I think most of the rest of the world should stay invisible
Love this content! Skip the paint tools, you don’t need’em!
paint scraper should be allowed imo, it’s difficult and annoying enough to apply on a large scale that it won’t trivialize the run, and i think a little reprieve from the blind suffering is deserved
24:18 RIP Deerclops
An accessory that prevents your own explosives from killing you (i.e. it'll leave you on 1HP) might work.
Oh I totally want to see the world visible after the run's done. If only to see what the rarest items are.
Paint scraper should be allowed for the following reason:
It'll look cool, I think.
