I'm proud to say that my club, Djurgårdens IF from Stockholm, is 100% fan owned. The fans are so passionate and drive the club. Things are going so well for us, so hopefully we'll see more of that in English football.
@HayesyBoy927 I recommend you do your research first before you call bullshit. Our club is indeed 100% fan owned. Not only are the fans extremely supportive financially, but our club is extremely good at scouting and building players. Our most recent player who’s made it big is Tino Kadewere who plays for Lyon.
@HayesyBoy927 deffo mate would love to see fans owning big clubs I'm sure in Germany the fans owe so much of the club's not sure where I heard that tbh could've been in a dream lol love Germany and the way they treat their fans
@@saibot1221 Do you have any idea how much it would cost for members of a fanbase to chip in to outright buy an English team? Imagine trying to buy the Manchester clubs, Liverpool or Chelsea. It'd be billions. Then hundreds of millions running the club annually. Had the clubs been fan owned from the get go it may have been different but now for that to even happen, there would be a purchase involved which no one would collectively be able to afford.
At Leeds everyone loves Radrizanni because he saved our club and brought us Bielsa. I think we are one of the few clubs that actually show out appreciation for the owner
That’s why we love Steve Gibson at Boro. He’s a local millionaire and saved the club from liquidation in 1986 and he’s still there, his nephew Ben Gibson was Boro captain and he’s just so ingrained into the football club that you can tell it’s an ownership of love and passion
When Thogdad said you wouldn’t get a thanks for it but the chairman of the team I support Middlesbrough Steve Gibson is one of the best chairman’s in Europe always back the club no matter what and us the fans love and thank him for what he does for us
I would politely disagree on the football club investment side of things, maybe so for professional clubs however non league is where all the pleasure, drama and fulfilment for me. Lower league is less financial risk, more fun, more realistic, no astronomical contracts or agents, no VAR 👍 and you can help build a local community club run on a voluntary level into a self sustaining business thus further investment opportunity into providing facilities for local the community. Yes, I agree entirely you wont make loads of money, but then you're not buying a club in millions of debt and furthermore, if you love the game surely the clubs wellbeing and progression comes before looking at a return. It's where the line is clear in football ownership, you're either a true fan of the game, or you are an investor and if the latter, your priorities are all wrong imo. Another very interesting interview JM 👍🍻🏴
5:21 thogdad got that wrong. I support rangers and the former chairman Dave king took us from the lower Scottish divisions and took us back to where we belong competing in Europe and challenging for the title every year in only a couple of years and no rangers fan could thank him enough. But they still do thank him every day of the week
It's a shame what happened with Oldham, owners were very strange and ended up I think selling the main stand and then having to rent it back on matchdays? All kinds of weird stuff to get some short term cash in, hope they're back on the straight and narrow now.
There are thousands of lads of council estates that must look at Thogdad, is if he were a mythical creature! Because a come from a single parent family and I do! I am 39, and still want him to adopt me!🤞

Burnley cuz I support them
Man United cause I support united
Arsenal
Manchester City just to ruin them cos I support United
