There are several interpretations of this song. I think the song was sung to a musician who has already passed away. The composer of yorushika, n-buna, and the deceased were friends. On the day of his death, he posted a picture of n-buna's CD on social media. Afterwards, he also said, "How I wish I could have been like you. Rumor has it that the deceased jumped into a train himself. In fact, on the day of his death, there was news of a man who was hit by a train and died after 9:00 p.m. in the city where he lived. If we meet him at the station at 10pm. his behavior might be able to stop him. Maybe n-buna wanted him to talk to someone about it. He wanted him to tell someone about his problems.
Gaz, I have watched two other vids by this group, although well produced well performed, I got a modern country vibe from it. which is good. At 73 years of age I've come to appreciate all music. But my favorite will always be rock. the reason I wanted to see this one is because Like me you like seeing what's out there. I like your enthusiasm. You are very cool, and kind to everyone. I totally agree with your analysis. Say it was very delightful yet very sad but upbeat. She didn't let it get in the way of her love.
Yorushika has some songs that I would say have the best background music I have ever heard, especially in the Plagiarism album. They also just make great music with great lyrics as well.
Huh! I always took it as a song about unrequited/lost love, pinning for someone who moved on from you, but I can totally see how it fits a gone loved one as well! Thanks for the new angle on the song~
loving your reactions and glad you're enjoying the music! If you haven't before, you can definitely check out "That's why I gave up on music" and "Thoughcrime", "hana ni bourei" Definitely one of the best ones. All of their songs carry deep human emotions like sadness, grief, coping and just life in genaral. They maybe sometimes very cheery too.Absolutely some of the best Japanese music out there.
really need a long time to listen to all of their songs in order and watch all their MVs to learn the story about Elma and Amy, even need to read some analysis articles.I think it would be hard for Eng speaker to fully understand but without knowing all these, all of their music are worth to enjoy.
one of my absolute favorite songs, glad to see you enjoyed it as well, especially the lyrics. id definitely recommend "thats why i gave up on music" if you havent listened to it before :)
I got so excited when I saw this song, because I love this song and I love Yorushika! I'm so glad you reacted to it. Also, as a side note, I don't know if this was the original intention of the video or not, but I always saw the stair imagery in this song as an allusion to the Escherian Stairwell, a "hoax video"/student film from the RIT that depicted a stairwell that repeated indefinitely. It was created by clever video editing, hence the glitching when the character "repeats" going up/down the stairwell. It seemed to fit into the songs themes of imagination and reality and repeating the past/not accepting the truth (the singer talking to someone, despite knowing they're no longer with them), so I always made that connection.
it's kinda funny to me that most people get mind-blown by Yorushika and the first song they listen to is this one because it's nothing compared to many other songs from them so I'm always like "ooh boy go in deeper because you just found a gold mine" 😂 my favorite is 八月、某、月明かり (sorry don't know the English title), I don't think this one has a music video but I love everything about this song. if you want to react to another great song I recommend だから僕は音楽を辞めた which the English name might be "That's Why I Gave Up On Music"
Surprised you started with their old rabbit hole instead of other songs people have as their first these days. Some albums are so interconnected that it's hard to give a listen order, though with MVs Blue indigo -> That's why I gave up on music -> A hole opened up in my heart is one I particularly like as it has some direct reference that move forwards. Hard to pinpoint a favorite song but I would go with Howl at the moon that goes crazy with the protag mental state, like saying "Smash my skull open with an icepick and fill it up with some lukewarm soup, please", and MV definitely goes to Thought Crime.
You would love these songs! "Wissen IST Macht!" ruclips.net/video/JC-L2rUPJZA/видео.html or "Crimson Blooming" ruclips.net/video/ktvKMVKkIJI/видео.html
Well I'm here again! (Try Yuru camp opening yes? Oh right try lagtrain too!!. Lemon by kenshi *there's more but if I say every song name it will never end~~*)

Because of you I have to cry all the time I listen to this song and I'm fine with it!
Yorushika is all about the lyrics so my fave song is "Hitchcock" but my favorite note composition would be Nautilus

The meaning is also sad, I think it celebrates someone who died, as in praising them
This is deep dude, if you understand the lyrics. Very sad😢❤
That’s Why I Gave Up on Music, Nautilus, Plagiarism, and Ghost in a Flower are some of my favorites from them
「いって」 means dye too.
Love your reaction, move on❤
You should check up Nautilus that is a awesome and sentimental song
