About the plain backgrounds in LMLT, I don't believe this is the original vision of the MV. You will also notice that the haircuts are completely different (e.g. Kyujin) - which can sometimes be intentional (one example that comes to mind is Itzy's Wannabe), but normally doesn't happen. Also, it is known that comeback MVs are filmed months in advance of the release. With that, the most probable scenario was that the MV was shot before Jinni left in December, which caused all the scenes where she was to be either cropped if possible, or reshot if not. The plain backgrounds are, I think, the replacement shots done in hurry and without budget (though it still came out great).-
It's upsetting how it turned out that way, if that's the case. This is almost like a performance video, not an M/V. And yes, they have been preparing for this since as early as September, or at least they have started shooting teaser pictures. So while Dice promotions were on-going, they have already set the direction for this comeback/mini-album, then Jinni left.
