Acho is the only sensible person on this panel as it relates to this incident. There’s a scuffle in the first sequence of the game, Rudy is nearby and intervenes, Draymond rushes over and proceeds to choke and drag Rudy. Comparing this incident to children protecting their siblings and physical basketball in the 80s is misguided. Draymond is not a child. And this was not excessive physicality in the context of a play. This was a short tempered man attacking another man because he had the opportunity to do so. Any rational adult knows that Draymond’s actions are wrong. Any child raised by a rational adult would know this also.
So if your best friend is in an altercation and you see multiple ppl ganging up on him you’re not doing anything is what you’re saying?

This was a bad take. Way too many people forget the word "PROFESSIONAL" athlete and when you are a professional you are supposed to exemplify professional behavior.
The reason athletes get fined and suspended for such behavior is because its not what leagues want. Basketball isn't boxing.
The entire reason the league got away from the 80's style of play is because there was a bigger vision for the league globally and believe it or not other countries aren't so into violence as those in the U.S.

Basketball was initially a finesse game. It wasn't meant to be football. It morphed into more of a physical sport during the 70's when you had guys who weren't necessarily finesse individuals fighting for the racial equality. So obviously tension would be heated on and off the court.
By the way I watch soccer/football. I see more violence in the stands than in the actual field.
