I moved from Detroit to Boston as a tag along with them summer 1986 and never looked back. Went to Cape Cod and Provincetown with them for their album cover photo shoot. Fun times.
OMG! I have not heard the song in forever. I have the 12 inch of this record locked up in my Storage. Love It!! L.A. in the HOUSE. KROQ rock of the 80's.
STORY: My new wave band in Detroit at the time was friends with FOAB, and played with them quite a bit. At the time I never knew the connection to the Godard film of the same name. Also, I used to go by "J" but they always called me Jean-Paul. I didn't get it. Until many years later when first watching the film is discovering the lead actors name is also Jean-Paul.
@@jean-paulbondy the name is familiar but I don't think I ever saw you. I didn't see FOAB live, they were already making it big when I became aware of them.
I remember my friends and I would hang out at a secret cove on Sunday at Griffith Park and watch people getting high on certain drugs and laugh at them. That was the first time I heard FOAB-Breathless. I never did drugs. But that was an experience watching people so wasted. It was so well hidden there would never be cops coming around. There would be a lot of people sitting on their cars and either listening to the radio to KROQ or cassette player. Good Times!

There's a slowed down instrumental version of this song, and in my opinion sounds better.
