- From Klein& a local movie animation package with generic, horror, comedy, western, and action adventure opens and bumps. The opens are :20, the bumps are :10. The bumps were to be used with audio cart announcements such as "We'll be back with more of our movie after this". The movie titles were supered in the black area under The Movies logo. Also in this clip is a :30 promo donut and ID, these were originally produced for WKRC in Cincinnati, but most of the Klein& stations used these. I ran these animations literally hundreds of times over the air in DC during the 80s, the audio is permanently burned into my brain!

WKRC is now the CBS Cincinnati Affiliate, and all these animated opens and bumps on "The Movies" with its jingles, did bring back memories from this package. So many TV stations did air the syndicated program when it aired locally.
I remember these from KPIX Channel 5 in San Francisco.
I remember wusa channel-9 used to have the early show also.
It's Saturday afternoon, and as the ambient Summer sound of every neighbor's lawnmower drifts in through the open windows, this music kicks in.
Also Sunday afternoons after church
OMG i remeber this from when I was child in dc in the 80s. Brings back so many memories.

Actually "The Movies" was made for WKRC TV 12 in 1979, then it was transfer to other stations that are not owned by Taft Broadcasting.
I remember these from WIXT(now WSYR)in Syracuse.

I remember this package from KDKA-TV, and I don't think they ever ran any of the specialty bumpers for horror, Westerns, etc. I'm pretty sure they just ran the general one for every movie regardless. This lasted well into the eighties.
THE MOVIES on TV2
on KDKA-TV 2 (CBS) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. garlitscomcastnet, do you have the video of THE MOVIES from KDKA?
Nope. Sorry, Marie.
I can remember when KDKA-TV 2 ran promos for "THE MOVIES" when they had "Something For Joey".

HERE'S 2 THE MOVIES
I think WBZ in Boston followed suit with KDKA, just how you described it, just the generic open.
I swear some of the shots from the Comedy set look rotoscoped from some silent film - specifically the pie throwing (and landing) shots. I figure simply drawing over those images would be faster? cheaper? … than completely original images.
KDKA also had these opens, but they disappeared around the time I was born.
Instant Time Machine lol.... Thank you!
It's too bad they didn't do the kids version of "The Movies".
KH: A snake expert sells his failures to a circus freak show. Strother Martin & Dirk Benedict star in “Ssssss” Sunday night at 11:30 PM on WBZ TV 4.
