- Jerry Seinfeld was right. It IS hard to load a Pez candy dispenser.
As a collector for almost 20 years, I want to share with you a few "tips and tricks" on how to properly load a Pez candy dispenser.
With a little practice, you will be able to load your Pez dispenser quickly and easily.

1. Try to load
2. Rage
3. Eat it out of the wrapper instead

Thank you so much for uploading this! I don't think I've even held a Pez dispenser since I was about 10, and now being at the age of 24, sat here with a Pez dispenser and a pack of Pez sweets, I just realized I have completely forgotten how this thing even worked! Now I don't have to embarrass myself and ask someone IRL. Yay!

@@Dad-fp4tj I've NEVER had one open like that, and I try to do it exactly like this video shows, by loosening all along one edge and pull it evenly. Never happens.

SO MY HAND HELD THE PEZS A LITTLE BIT TOO HARD AND A LITTLE EXPLOSION HAPPENED BEFORE I COULD PUT THEM IN THE DISPENCER

My pez NEVER unwraps that easily
Exactly. There's ALWAYS a thin layer of paper in the way of the candy Pez after opening the outer paper! It rarely ever opens like the way this demo showcases.
Me, too! The wrapper just shreds into an outer and an inner layer. I was hoping this video would help me with that.

@@suebelzer6536 I had the same problem and think I found the trick... when it tears into a thin sheet usually there's a little opening you can get a nail in. Push the thick side of the paper down and away from the thin sheet, it'll tear easily and separate the entire way across as you keep pinching it down.

Well, I actually had to search for these instructions: How weird. I haven't used, or seen, a Pez dispenser for over 40 years, but I've just been to a film festival where they screened a (very, very enjoyable) documentary about the Pez dispenser collecting scene and I was given a free Pez dispenser (and 1 pack of candy) for being one of the first to enter the screening. The film is called 'The Pez Outlaw' and I highly recommend it 👍
Saw it on Neflix and had to get myself a dispenser and some candy! Also brought me here 😛

Yes! This is exactly how I remember being able to do it when I was a kid. Now when I try to do it for my own kid, I can't get the wrapper to stay attached to it's inner layer, so I have to break up the stack while I scrape and peel the little tissue paper part of the wrapper off.
PEZ needs to make a pull string that makes a clean line across the stack.

That's how I've been doing it and I was hoping there'd be an easy way. I wish they made the wrappers easier to unwrap, I'm sure with some clever "paper engineering" they could make it way easier to load.
I remember some secret speedy way I saw a long time ago. the guy put the whole thing in the pez dispenser wrapper and all and then slammed it shut and the wrapper just ripped off leaving just the candy. There's a trick to it though that I can't remember

I never had these dispensers as a child cause it was something that "rich" kids had in my country and I wasn't one of them. Now as a grown-up my 4 yo toddler wanted a Pez candy, I was thinking: there must be a better way than to just insert them with my hands one by one. I tried this tehnique but some candy was always broken and misplaced itself.I discovered that it's better to rip half of the paper and the top off and then leave it in with another half of the paper :)

Consider yourself among the blessed. My wrappers never come off that cleanly. There are always shreds still wrapped around the candies--sometimes even an entire inner "layer" of paper, tissue thing, but adequate to prevent this way of loading the dispenser.
This changed my life. I used to open and dump all of my pez onto the table and load them one of by one but now im unstoppable but for real tysm lol
Sad, but true this really helped me. I was like, "What the heck? It should not be this hard!!" Now I am a PEZ Wizard!

I just tried this and the pack of pez flew all over my couch and floor. I'll be finding stray little pez pieces for awhile now. Maybe my dog will develop a taste for pez and help me.

this was actually really helpful, usually I put them one by one in the dispenser, or my anger issues went brr and ate yhem out of the wrapper. now I just simply put them in in like, 30 seconds. thanks :))

I've opened hundreds of Pez wrappers. I've tried many techniques, including this one, but ALWAYS the outer (silver) layer sheers away from the inner (paper) layer, making the demonstrated technique impossible.

I swear, it was so much easier to do as a kid.
I find it easier to slit the wrapper lengthwise along one corner and fold the cut part back leaving the ends of the wrapper in place so it forms a U around the candy. Then face the open side against the opening in the tray and pressing the candy in a similar fashion to the video. I think a lot more Pez would be eaten if they would put a pull string in the package to open it in this manner but reading the other comments I could be wrong.
