Ryan, if you ever read this, thank you for inspiring me in my youth to pursue my journey with Music. Without music in my life, I'm sure I wouldn't be alive today. My one wish in life is to tell you my story, I hope I get that chance some day.
I've always wanted to start a two-bassist band..... never thought it could sound so beautiful, but then again, Ryan Martinie is one of my favorite metal bassists.
Chad's kind of a douche about it, though. I don't know what happened to that guy, but he went from having intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics, to being generic AF. I'd rather see Ryan find a great metal band to join, than waste his talent in that band any further. Him and Matt were the strongest members, and one of the strongest rhythm sections in metal.
@@kommunar1484 yeah. I love Martinie to death and he is who inspired me to play bass back in high school, but in the end, his style really isn't that metal. It's more like he brought heavy amounts of funk and jazz styles into it and tried to turn them metal, ended up sounding really good for the music, but I wouldn't call him the absolute best bassist in metal by any means. Steve DiGiorgio was a good example to bring up for sure. Or wait were you just trying to gatekeep metal and say Mudvayne isn't metal? In that case I disagree.
@@crazasta5290 I just looked up Steve DiGiorgio and find his playing quite unpractical. But to each his own. I think Ryan opened a whole new Level of Crossover Bass and developed so much of his own sound and technique, which i think is what people enjoy about him. It is the same thing with Les Claypool and Flea. They are great BECAUSE they don't play your standard metal Bass
The attack from Ryan gives an excellent both melodic and harmonical feel keeping the dynamics quite balanced throughout the song, Leonid indeed provided a great fundamental harmony for Ryan to work on and vice versa.
"Okay Ryan we wanna get a shot of you out in the water." "In the water?" "Yeah, we wanna get you just kinda out in the water." "...like...standing in the water?" "Yeah, just take a few steps out there, about knee height and we'll get the shot." "..."
Wow, where did that come from?? Amazing.. Ryan's tones and progressions have always had a way of affecting me. Looking forward to new Soften the Glare. I'm not familiar with Leonid, but I'll have to look into his work. Thanks, Framus/Warwick, for making this happen!
Poor Ryan. He was amazing in mudvayne. Chad went to hell yeah. Now what is he doing? I think with vinnie Paul gone. Rip. Chad needs to regroup with the guys. Hell yeah can stop. Mudvayne needs to be a group again. I never liked hell yeah anyway. Mudvayne will always be a band close to my heart. Songs that helped me through the bad times. I know Ryan wants to reform with mudvayne. He's a sick bassist. I'm sure fans want mudvayne back. If Chad doesn't want it even with vinnue Paul gone, they should consider a new vocalist for mudvayne just so they can reform. I think they should. Now you have Ryan playing in sewage water. He needs his dudes back.
MuDvAYnE broke up because of Chad. He's an egomaniac and ppl like Ryan and Matt just love making music. They are try musicians no matter the "style" or 'form' / 'genre ' And that's why MuDvAYnE won't be back. They would only EVER be back if it was in their "profitable interests " to do so. Instead, just appreciate Ryan and "Spag" for what they do. Send this video to your friends (even if they don't like the music) and get them to give it a thumbs up and send it to a few more ppl to do the same so people like Ryan can actually see that there are those of us who GENUINELY appreciate this level of talent and dedication no matter the "fame" that (unfortunately doesn't) come with it.
Like the vibe of the video. Reminds me of home, in Mother Nature....her and music are the 2 purest things in life! Loved the song guys, beautiful stuff. 🤘🤘🤘
THIS IS THE BEST TUNE IVE HEARD IN AGES, NICE TO SEE TWO BASSIST COMPOSING TOGETHER, WELL DONE WARWICK FOR PRODUCING WONDERFUL INSTRUMENTS AND GREAT JOB RYAN AND LEONID FOR WRITING THIS MASTERPIECE, HOPE TO SEE AN ALBUM IN THE FUTURE CHEERS ROB FROM THE UK
Beautiful, tasteful playing. For everyone who likes this, I recommend checking out Ryan's band Soften the Glare; similar-sounding ideas going on here. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice my brothers. Ryan, the first we crossed paths, I believe you were in a band called Lidlifter. Correct me if I am wrong, but that was obviously before Greg and yourself joined MudVayne... I played shows with you, and Newborn Aggression when Tony was in that band. U most likely wouldn't remember me, Our last show together was at the Canopy Club in Urbana approximately 20 yrs ago. Congrats on your success... I have utmost respect for your skills and perseverance. Namaste
So many bass players out there being boring and not innovative with a 4 string. Ryan literally invented a completely new style of playing with a 5 string and utilizes his basses to full capacity. So many 5 string players use the low b as a thumb rest. He uses his to insane potential.

Not a bad idea. The Omnific does it.
Ryan is the best bassist in metal, idgaf if anyone disagrees. Mudvayne needs to get back together.
I second that!

Best in metal? He don't play metal and didn't. Do you know Steve DiGiorgio?

Bravo, my good sirs. It's great to see Ryan back in action.
Maggot Man I'd love if they gave Ryan 100% creative control see what that mind of his came up with. It would sertainly go through the emotions lol
Have you checked out his band Soften the Glare? Very good stuff
if you want more from Ryan, Listen to his 3 piece jazz fusion bass Soften the Glare. it's will worth the time
Hopefully you have heard the Softening the Glare stuff?
He's been back in action for a while, check out his band, Soften The Glare.
Ryan's name appears. I watch. This is gold. Both players.

Thanks
This gives me a whole new appreciation for bass.
published on my bday...what great gift...as a bassist...ryan is my biggest influence....always enjoy watching him play!!!...
happy to see ryan doing what he loves
In my opinion Ryan is the what made Mudvayne such a good band, you know it’s him on the first note. He should be a part of some super band.
"Okay Ryan we wanna get a shot of you out in the water."
"In the water?"
"Yeah, we wanna get you just kinda out in the water."
"...like...standing in the water?"
"Yeah, just take a few steps out there, about knee height and we'll get the shot."
"..."
Tweakalicious_TV 🤣
This is pretty much what went through my head.
"...should I like, roll my pants up or something?"
"nah, don't worry about it. just get in there"
Ryan: "... well, as long as my dog gets to be in the video as well"
"Deal."

I guess I could reconigze his playing by only one note. He is amazing

This niggy said “Now you have Ryan playing in sewage water 😂😂😂😂
Me either, Chad needs to get his head out of his ass and reform Mudvayne. Metal needs them!
Oh yes.
Yes yes yes.
Heaven yes.
This is magnifico.
I am so glad I found this.
Thank you.
I've missed Ryan in the scene. One of my major inspirations in the way I approach my bass both solo, and with a band. One of the greats in my book!!!
No matter what genre of music or how many he is freaking amazing. Anything he's had part in has taken me to this happy place. I love him!🥰❤️😍
Thank you!!! Miss you Ryan!!!
O que o cara esta fazendo dentro do lago com um baixo??!!!! Cada uma!!!!
Can't keep a bad ass bass player down!! So glad ryan had enough love passion and support to take his playing beyond mudvayne
This was just a really nice track to listen to
Always great to see and hear Ryan playing, great track!
I swear Ryan is the coolest guy ever, walking with the bass and the dog beside the pond and then throwing a stick into it.
This is beautiful. I don't think I've ever heard a two bassist duet but it works.
Greetings from Czech Republic, yay!
Awesome!!!! I love the bass
Like the vibe of the video. Reminds me of home, in Mother Nature....her and music are the 2 purest things in life! Loved the song guys, beautiful stuff. 🤘🤘🤘
I fucking love Ryan’s style and performances with hes energy and passion!

This is fucking magical. Thank you so much for giving us this gift.
Great!!
Awesome! Ryan is a beast!
Musical tone and all bass...best band ever
this was a nice surprise
Awesome music! What TF is Ryan taking a hike and standing in a pond, with a bass on?
I wonder if Ryan said "hold my beer" before playing while standing in a pond. Guaranteed that pond hasn't had a better bass player in it.
Someone point me to more of this sound! Nice
Patrick Brown have you heard Soften The Glare?
@@BootsORiley now I have 😂❤
This is.....Amazing
Awesome!
Ryan = BASS , if there's any chance for Mudvayne reunion please do it!
I imagine playing next to Ryan must be like pissing alongside John Holmes in a troth
0:34-1:02 - очень напоминает 8-ий колір - Мотор'ролла. А так, мелодия - отличная! Great job!!
100%
Nice instrumental :)
That was amazing,my skin is crawling
I picked up the bass 15 years ago because of Ryan.
This is epic
How come this ain’t on iTunes
I play bass for my cat all the time. I get this sentiment.
Not sure why Ryan is playing in knee deep water but this is a great sounding sesh.
Why wouldn't no one want Ryan in their band.
All they need is one more bassist and they can play "Big Bottom"!
The same Warwick bass like Mudvayne times 😍
Someone should put Mudvayne - Dig lyrics on this one.
Just kidding. Nice work, guys! I like it.
So many bass players out there being boring and not innovative with a 4 string. Ryan literally invented a completely new style of playing with a 5 string and utilizes his basses to full capacity. So many 5 string players use the low b as a thumb rest. He uses his to insane potential.
Need more bass
I love ryan and his dog!
I want to see Ryan Martinie and Dan Briggs do some work
Афигеть. Ютуб совершил преступление, не рекомендовав мне это видно все эти годы😢
You play your Bass in water? It's dangerous, so dangerous ;-)
Just kidding! Great song anyway!
