The mandatory upgrade, engine wise, is a better air filter setup, because stock is poorly conceived. Then aftermarket pipes, reeds, timing advance, etc. I've heard of users putting 130 + hours between rebuilds, on mostly stock machines, simply by letting the engine warm properly before giving it "the beans", on pair with plenty of oil in the mix ( 20:1 up to 24:1) and close to perfect jetting. And they were not sissy riders...
If your looking for a cheaper brake upgrade look at replacing your front brakes with 450r front calipers and a 450r master cylinder...cheap common upgrade and relatively easy...
reaaallly makes me want to sell my yfz450r and get a banshee. I think its my calling. ive wanted a banshee since I was a little kid in the 90s looking at them on the showroom floor.
Just a couple a questions, if you don't mind if i ask: -When picking the pilot jet size, isn't it all about having the engine to idle well, without having to tighten the air screw past 1 turn out ? -Do you have to use higher octane fuel, like the same you run on Mr Nasty, to safely run with +5 timing ?
@@banshee100 The Banshee i owned had just the common upgrades in the engine, and I never had the need to go above the stock # 25, based on that criteria. It is kinda surprising it took a 32.5 to make it right, when it comes to Little Nasty !
@@mike-ms1jm aggressive dune ported stock cylinders, 4 mil, cool head, fmf pipes, dynatek cdi, I need to get some better pipes and carbs, but it runs pretty good, and I just got done putting new elka long travel on

Good stuff! Been watching for a while but finally subbed for the algorithm.
So for powerband in the lower end of the gears/torque, adjust the air screws or needle setting. Have mine on 3rd clip
Your reason for turning down that offer is spot on! Great fun vid.
