Brilliant. I used CC Ball Action, then made the ball size large, with no spacing. Then "Generate/Fill" to give it a 2D vector look, but with some good motion. Perfect.
Hey Patrick, between Adam getting me started and your quick addition here, I've just jumped way ahead on my own project's progress. Thanks to both of you guys!
Great Thanks. Very handy. The oly thing I would add is you could duplicate the layers then move one to th end, then use allign to sapce them out evenly.
How to do this if I want to make the DNA strand positioned diagonally? I need a strand that's about 18 degrees off vertical. At first I tried to follow this exactly and then rotate the shape but that doesn't work - the whole structure twists as I try to rotate it into position. Now on my second try, I created the ladder shape exactly how I want it, but there is no Twist Property (X Axis, Y Axis, Center Y, etc) in the effect parameters that works.... never mind: I just learned about *cameras!*
Could someone including the uploader and viewers on how to add keyframes into the timeline please? Today was my first attempt to create the animated DNA Strand. I need for my project in a hurry, or any other resource that creates animated DNAs in 2D would be greatly appreciated.
+Dee officiel Your masks have to be made around the center of your workspace. Same thing happened to me and so I retried it. Turns out the first time I did it at the top of the screen and them moved it to the center. Start in the center and it should work.
haha... my bad guys sorry.... stanley johnson , when you say "..... centre of work space...." is the a "centred anchor point" another way to describe ? as i managed to get it working now.... thank you very much friend .......
Clara Atwell What he does in the tutorial is actually duplicating the mask. Click the dropdown on the solid layer / masks / select the mask / hit Cmd+D or go to "Edit/Duplicate"

How do I duplicate the layer?
select the layer and press Cmd+D in Mac or Ctrl+D in Windows...
