As a NM master gardener, one of the things we emphasize to the public when buying a potted nursery tree is to look at the root ball before buying. Yup, pull it gently out of the pot and make sure the roots are not circling. Circling roots will eventually strangle and kill the tree, though that can take a few years to happen.
That's a great tip! In our experience, a tree with some minor pot binding can easily be teased out at planting. Though I have seen some really bad examples, and there's a balance between opening up the root ball, and not damaging the root system.

I have heard from several sources that crab apples make excellent pollinators for many varieties. Is this true?
Could a red fuji apple tree survive in mid-florida, hariness zone 10a? Would it properly form buds and give apples?
Sir do you have seedlings on jujobe
Is there a list of apples that did good in that research?
Here is the harvest video by Dave Wilson Nursery that gives some examples! ruclips.net/video/htz5BUNMB38/видео.html
Are you related to Doug Demuro? You look so much like him!
I've gotten that a handful of times! Nope, no relation. I hadn't even heard of him before people told me we're look-alikes 😂
@TheBusyGardener I was looking up designs for dragonfruit trellises, and I thought Doug had a side channel that was about gardening. Once I heard your voice, I knew it wasn't him. You guys look like brothers though!
