We basically follow the Three-Point Lighting, one to illuminate the subject, the second one to fill the scene with light and to create shadows, and the last one for the background (usually above the scenario) ... But now we'll think about doing a tutorial, thanks a lot for the idea ;)

What did you use to make the life bars

We created the life bars on photoshop and then used a technique called keyframes to reduce the size of the green one in sony vegas :)
