His mum is a soprano and his dad sings contemporary songs. I have seen them both play an instrument. If you watch Dearest Mother, it is Dimash singing with both parents. You will see where he got his voice and his looks from. His sister has sung on stage with Dimash doing All By Myself, but she is very shy and wants to be a doctor. His younger brother (about 16/17) is in music school. He plays lots of instruments and composes. We haven’t really heard him sing. He composed a song called Together which is in English and Dimash did a video for them to present his song, as a 16th birthday present. Dimash has sung it at his recent concerts and his brother was playing guitar. He is very shy too and prefers to stay in the background.

He was just destined to be a musician but that Voice - that is a gift from God.... I know he worked like an animal to perfect his craft - but that natural instrument he has is a once in a 100 years Voice...... I've been involved w/ Music & Concerts for 50 yrs & I have heard every major artist from the US & Europe over that time period & I have never heard anything close to Dimash Live - seeing him live - & I saw in 2019 so he was still very young & somewhat raw so he is much better now b/c his vocals have matured so much at the lower end of the scale - but even back in 2019 I was dumbfounded by his Gift & his passion to share it w/ the world..... Kazakh folk song Samal- tau
In 1916, during the second year of Great War (World War I), the Russian Empire carried huge human and property losses. The burden of restocking was laid on subject nations. About 49 million hectares of fertile land were forcibly taken away during the war from Kazakhs. The owners were driven out into the barren wastes. Taxes increased form 3 to 15 times. For the needs of war, livestock and property were mass requisitioned. And finally it came to "requisition" of people. On 24th of June 1916, the Russian Tsar issued a decree that a half-million Central Asians, aged 19-43, were to be mobilised for army and labour brigades in the war effort. This decree was the spark for the Kazakh uprising, although the underlying reason was Russian colonisation and the usurpation of Kazakh lands.
    Samal tau walk to Omsk
Song "Samal Tau" tells about this sad events for young Kazakh in this difficult time.
The song is about young, about 28 year old (a little over 2 mushels = 2 dozens born in the year of the cow = 1889) recruit walking from Samal village (close to Shalkar lake in West-North Kazakhstan) to Omsk, as he was forced to register for the Russian military according to a decree predating the revolt by a few months. He was walking for 15 days and almost reached Omsk.
Samal - a gentle breeze, a mountain breeze, bearing the evening or morning cool. The word "samal" itself is associated with something pleasant, bearing enjoyment. Therefore, Kazakhs woman often have a female name Samal.
    Tau - mountain, hill.
Thank you for the music. Dimash is a unique and best voices in the world. Thank You.

Hello Raquel, I only knew part of the story of Samaltau, today I learned more from you and I understand why Dimash wrote "The story of a sky". The pain and suffering of his people still hurts his soul and he pours it out on us with elegance and integrity, just like Daididau and Omir. We love Dimash not only for the incomparable beauty of his voice, but for his presence as a human being with high moral and spiritual values, so precarious in today's musical environment. Dimash has a very high frequency of universal loving capabilities that reach us and also makes us raise our dormant frequencies, few people know this and still don't understand why they fall in love with him, feeling goosebumps and even crying with emotion. Dimash is a multidimensional being above our 3rd dimension. that simple.
      gratitude for his considerations.

Please read the comments below to learn more about Dimash and inform your guests.
Today he is 29 years old, he began his musical career at the age of five, but he was already performing on stage at the age of two and three, plays 7 instruments, sings in more than 10 languages besides Kazakh and Russian. He is trained in opera, lyrical singing, bel canto, pop, jazz, etc. He completed his doctorate in composition. His mother is a soprano and director of the University of Opera, his father also sings and is a music and cultural producer.
He has already given concerts in NY, London, Russia, and other European and Asian countries, including China where he stood out to the world.
He is the ambassador of peace appointed in his country to represent him in the countries where he performs his concerts.
Dimash is what the world needed as an example of a universal citizen, today he is an example for many musicians that talent alone is not enough, you need to work hard, have discipline and respect and love for art.

👉Samaltau (names a beautiful place. In Kazakhstan, many women's names have 'samal' as the first syllable)
    Mountain breeze
Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake,
What days await me as a soldier,
You keep coming into my mind from time to time,
My amazing homeland, where I was born and raised
    I wasn't riding, I was walking,
    Even slower than walking,
    Been strolling for 15 days
    In the direction of Omsk
I'm at the age of two cycles, the year of the cow
By the will of Fate, I went farther away
Mountain breeze, my amazing country, you're left behind
From the hollow field, we are the only ones
    I had parents,
    Of progressed age,
    Since this song was written,
    It's been 16 years.
Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake,
What days await me as a soldier

The instrument is called a Kobyz, Samaltau means Samal Mountain. The song is about a young man during World War 1 being drafted into the Russian military and having to travel on foot to Omsk. He's wondering how life will be as a soldier, about his elderly parents, and missing his homeland.
And showing SOS is fine as a first time listener, most reactors start there. As it does give a glimpse of his range, even if one of the people you showed said it's boring at the same time they said it was chaotic (I'm paraphrasing of course) But if you want to show a vocally impressive Kazakh song, Daididau or Omir Oter or Qairan Elim. You probably would like the Russian song Love of Tired Swans or Love is Like a Dream.

I have a different view. Why promote Dimash just as a great vocalist, when he is so much more? He is a gifted musician, excellent composer and performer - a complete artist. But first of all, an incredibly emotional singer. This can be heard every time he sings, but especially in his native songs, like Samaltau, Daididau, or Qairan Elim (perhaps my favorite song of his, because of the incredible emotions I feel). How could anyone be disappointed after hearing such beautiful songs like 'Samaltau'? What about the rich instrumentation, sheer quality of singing, and the deep message? Those who appreciate music understand the value of such songs like 'Samaltau'. Fortunately, there are many:)
'SOS', 'Olimpico', 'Stranger' are epic, of course. Very suitable for reactions, to see people's shock & awe😅 Still, all kind of songs are needed. Otherwise we show only a fraction of what Dimash is. He is much more than his vocal abilities or range, as incredible they are. His ability to convey emotions is rare, too. Dimash's beautiful emotional voice touches deeply, it reaches to listeners' souls. His music is rich, full of meanings. Plus, his good personality makes a huge impact. I believe those are the reasons he has captured so many enthusiastic & faithful followers. NOT just the range or such. If it was only that, he would be like a circus performer. He should always find new tricks to awe the audience again. (Well, he does that😅 but it isn't his main point.) Yes, some may watch him just for the shock value - he IS a rarity. But I wonder how long, if his voice or music don't really touch them? It's kind of a superficial way to enjoy music anyway. Especially such as Dimash's!

Considering that SOS has been reacted to a lot, and since you are showing his other music, I'd say the the best one to show would be "Ikanaide". I say that because that song is easily one of his most beautiful songs and it's a pretty simple composition so it's also not musically confusing for first time listeners to Dimash. Also this song shows a lot of his range, and my personal favorite aspect of his, which is his delivery and dynamics. And also I don't think you have reacted to that one so REACT TO THAT ASAP, YOU'LL LOVE IT!!
P.S. You should look up the songs' lyrics before reacting to them, that way you would still be able to enjoy the performance without looking at the subtitles. Knowing the lyrics adds a whole other experience to it.

Wow I thought I had seen and heard, every Dimash song, I have never seen this thank you for posting this. I was a little uncomfortable at the beginning as it’s a long intro to the song and I was worried the gentleman would get bored. I was very happy he liked it, I wish he had listened seen another track. There’s so many an all incredible. Stranger, story of one sky, film /video he sings, acts, in as well. He produced it as far as I know. Dimash’s parents are famous singers, in Kazakhstan and Russia. They sing superbly as well. His younger brother sings and plays Kazakhstan instruments as well. An has appeared in Dimash’s concerts.😊

You never looked that happy and enraptured while doing SOS. It is a a Kobyz, a two-stringed instrument made of horse hair. I hope you do more diversified reactions of Dimash. I think you would be pleasantly surprised with "Ikanaide", as well as the song he wrote at 17, "Unforgettable Day", the way he sang it on "The Singer 2017." The orchestration and the backup singers were outstanding.

This a tresure song of kazakhstan and Dimash sing this like no one. The musical instrument is from Kazajistán and name “KOBIZ” of two strings, Using folk arrangements like “SYBYZGI”, beautiful Kazakh wind instrument. This live performance with his instrumentalists friends is a firm favourite of mine. You just made a very happy person out of me for choosing this song :)
Not much more to say, other lovely people in the comment sections already did so but just because I am incapable of writing short comments [^^'] I have to address the S.O.S debate. I understand that many people prefer that one for a first reaction because they hope people get drawn in by the vocal range and are therefore more likely to check him out further afterwards. But that seems to me a very 'short attention' and 'modern' day of thinking in the way that people nowadays are bombarded with music and for you to start following an artist an introduction needs to blow your mind, needs to stick out from all the other things you've heard. This way of consuming music is something I really don't like. And it's not at all necessary for all people. As someone who does music on a daily basis, John Mahon is not more likely to get drawn in by S.O.S. because of the "wow" factor, as he is by listening to Samaltau because of its genuine storytelling and novelty of instruments [especially for western ears]. On the contrary, I think this was a perfect fit. Anyone who has the slightest bit of knowledge about singing can hear from this performance that Dimash can "do more" [because he uses his voice with such precision here] which should intrigue you to dig deeper. While when listening to S.O.S. you might be inclined to think that's the end of it.
But apart form his rage I also need to say that his best songs, for me, are those where he doesn't showcase so much of it. Every song tells a story and needs a specific emotion. Some of them can be found in low, others in high notes. You don't always need both or rather, both might actually divert from what the song actually requires.
The full Tokyo Jazz Festival video from Dimash was astonishing. And yes, this is a one take studio recording. They are playing to a backing track here and the whole thing went through post production but what we hear from him and the instruments is "live". The 2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival had to be cancelled due to covid but with a very dedicated team and the consent of all invited artists they produced the show as a live stream on RUclips for the whole world to see. Most of the Japanese acts where live in house [with lots of precautions being taken], artists who came from outside send in videos like Dimash here, specially filmed/produced for this occasion. I had the pleasure of seeing the full festival when it aired and it was just the most uplifting experience at the time. A lot of muscians also added small messages to the people sitting at home so it actually ran longer than initially intended.

Excellent comment, thank you! I feel exactly the same about the song choices (and sharing Dimash overall). Variety is needed, because Dimash is much more than a vocal show, he is art! And he is so versatile, too. Also people are different. Our favorite songs are not always the epic ones. But instead those more modest, which make us feel the most:) For me too, his Kazakh songs, especially Qairan Elim... This song was just perfect for this listener. Looked like mesmerized😊 As a musician, how he wouldn't?

    • @paivyt.
      @paivyt. 9 месяцев назад

P.S. Interesting what you said about "there's more"... An attentive listener can see it in Samaltau, yes. Whereas in SOS people may think "that's all". I think you're right. I have read a lot of comments under SOS reaction, whether Dimash is just for a show. They definitely couldn't say that about songs like Samaltau.
I remember one reactor, who watched SOS and many other vocally great songs (of course, these are emotional too). He remained indifferent, even a bit harsh towards Dears. Then he saw Samaltau and was in tears. I could say, his heart opened. Ever since, he treated Dimash with great respect, even love. This proved me, songs have to touch people somehow. Otherwise an artist doesn't make an impact.

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than twelve(12) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. Thanks for reacting to Dimash!! Look for his discography, it is incredible!! That instrument is called Kobiz and is native to Kazashtan, the country of Dimash!! It is a very heartfelt story, when the Russians recruited Kazakh men for a war that was foreign to them! This song is an excerpt from a paper that was found on a deceased soldier, among his clothes! He left his elderly parents and while he walked the road in the Samaltau mountains, his concern was not to see them again!! He wrote on a piece of paper, with those words!! Dimash manages to transmit that pain!! Listen to Stranger and you will see and hear Kobiz again!! Everything that Dimash sings leaves a message for reflection!!❤

Samaltau is an mountain in Kazakhistan. This song was written for the Kazakh people who were expelled from their own lands by the Chinese. And he calls out to Mount Samaltau and says, I turn to you from fighting for my people. The song has lyrics like these. And the instruments are Kazakh ethnic instruments. The string instrument in the beginning imitates the sound of a wolf. The one making the rain sound on the other instrument is a rain stick. This song has a shamanic atmosphere.

It's called a Kobytz. It's an ancient Kazakh violin type. His mother, Svetlana is a soprano Opera Singer. His Dad , Kenet, is also a successful singer - I think in musical theater. When Dimash was very young, the three of them sang a song to mothers in a musical review. Kenet's mother and aunt were there, Dimash went down stage for a minute to sing for them. It's on you tube-easy to find.

That instrument is called The Kobyz is a traditional bowed string instrument that is played in Kazakhstan. It is made of carved wood for the body, animal skin for the resonator, and horsehair for the strings and bow 1. The instrument has a bucket-shaped body, an arcuate curved neck, and a large flat head. The half of the surface is covered with skin. The strings are tuned at intervals of a fifth and when bowed, the Kobyz sounds much like a violin.
