Every time I revisit this, it feels like it would make a great tabletop RPG or something like that.
Same thoughts here
Its called gammaworld. Look it up.
@@milktots6933 Many Thanks dude
we have kenshi and mutant year zero
@@joshuagraham2843 ooh, kenshi tabletop would be fun
Mr. Tippett, I appreciate the worked you've done throughout your entire life. Without your animations in Star Wars, SW would be the same. I just wanted to stop by and thank you for your time spent in the many revolutionary films that have now made history and I'd like to say that you should keep following your dream of making great stop-motion films.
I don't think Star Wars could have ever been the same without him.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
@@Milesamanjaro Think he just forgot the 't.. I do that all the time.. & with screen name English might not be his/her first language.
Yeah Star Wars WOULD be the same without him. I agree
WOULDN'T
A lot of folk say in the comments "Why do they chase the creature when it's obviously a trap?"
What I like about this short, though, is it communicated that effectively with no dialogue from the start. First, with the on-screen text that hunger drives them above all. They've clearly been starving in this post-apocalyptic world. Second, they clearly react knowing someone is trying to trick them, pulling weapons out and walking carefully. Clearly they think they can handle whatever is pulling the strings. It's not until they see the mass quantity of monstrous beings they're up against that they realise running is the best option, but it's too late.
Great visual storytelling with minimal dialogue.
This video deserves way more than 7,000 views. Cmon people!
46 000 actually XD
Look, I’m trying
@@jean-baptistegriffon2870 Now over 91K (about double your #) a year later ;-)
NesconProductions awesome!
It's still not enough. The atmosphere of this short is damn fantastic. I definitely would like to play a game of this world and also to watch a full-length movie
The most horrifying death is the woman.
Literally running as fast as you can, to be surrounded, mauled, lifted into the air and torn apart.
It's the helplessness and knowing that sets that scene up.
The stark brutality of starving creatures.
Yeah, that shit fucked me up
Yeah, at least the other ones were "fast" she was eated alive, maybe still felling to the end, pretty disturbing
@@alex-qt8nj well, she wasn't easten alive. She was running before getting picked up by a flying creature and as it was lifting her up the rats tried bringing her down and started scratching her until eventually she got ripped in half. Screaming every second too.
Darwin's award to "protagonists", hands down. Following that rabbit was the most idiotic decision ever, pure deathwish.
Morons. It was very clear that they were being baited.
I think they know it.
Hunger drives most to do things they would deem stupid.
Also, best not to actually sprint up to catch it at any point. Rather, just run next to it and observe as it's slowly being pulled towards some obvious cartoon death trap. Then run after it again. This thing was straight out of Looney Tunes, literally.
You can brain the damn thing with a *boomerang* from a good distance away, but you can't snap a rope with a gun? Fuckin trash logic.
Cinematically amazing.
The two things that bug deal with the story being shown.
1 how can that mutant chef feed all those creatures
2 any decent hunters would know enough about where they hunt to be aware of at least the giant chihuahua, if not the mutant chef's horde
In the end I want more. prequel sequel more
It's possible that everyone constantly moves, since staying in one place, especially if you're smaller, just makes you easier to find.
Zachary Maybe if the 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗳'𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 where starving the 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 and 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 would eat the 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 and 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀, And if it Continues The 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 will eat the 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 and 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀.
And then The 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗳 will soon be Đe̸vօʋʀe҈d⃗ by his own 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 or he will Ȼa̸nηḯb̤̈ᒪḙl҉i҈s꙰ḛ himself after all if his 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘥𝘪𝘪𝘦𝘦𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘴𝘴.
Edit: Also i dont think that the 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 was not one of the 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗳'𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 because some of 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗳'𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 were also attacking it when the Ṁa⃗n⃗ was Hiding.
Maybe the ᴰᵒᵍ to.
Truly work of art I fuckn loved it. I would love to see a series of mutant land.
A young man, a young woman and a praying mantis are lured into their own untimely and gruesome deaths at the hands, mandibles and mouths of vindictive mutants...
I can't help but feel like this is a personal attack on someone.
I think you mis-gendered the mutants.
@@andyknolls8735 mi balls ich
@@andyknolls8735 let me guess you identify as an apache helicopter
@@azariah_kyras No a Klingon Raptor
@@andyknolls8735 maybe take that ounce of creativity you seem to surprisingly have and make less corny comments in the future then.
I love this, this could turn into a new Heavy Metal
just needs a little more boobage
He should totally come and do a Love, Death + Robots episode.
Greetings Starfighter...
this is so perfect! so dark and unsettling, it like an true post apocalyptic movie.
What a cool twist. How come I have only just heard of this man and his creations now? Mr Tippett you are a mad master of creation and I hope you get the recognition you deserve.
i feel bad for mantis dude, he was npw my favorite lol
I first found this about 2-3yr ago. I watch it about once a month. This world is the setting for one of my rpgs.
I have wanted to see the events that lead up to this. I think a movie where the heros die like this at the end, as opposed to a 'good' death or a 'happy' ending would be vary interesting.
facinating world to set a trpg in, love it
There are a few horror movies that end the way you're describing.
@@BionicDirector117 They all end the way he described. Killing your protagonists off after giving them plot armor the entire story in an attempt to shock your audience is over done and lazy.
Between you and Jim Henson
... Your animations are my favorite and its sad they are dieing out.
The mental depths this man must trek through to surround himself with these nightmares for hours and hours and hours on end.
Get this guy for a Warhammer movie, this is what grimdark should be
Absolutely amazing! Thank you for this, and good luck with "Mad God"!
My favorite animation on youtube. Everything is so well made and looks so good!
Wow, I thought this channel was abandoned, but I subscribed a month ago anyway! haha
Supertron this is the story of the ugly barnacle... the ugly barnacle was so ugly that everyone died, the end. :D
;)
@@thegoldenplague-mask5438 I think this Short Film called "MutantLand" by Phil Tippet came out on Friday, July 23, 2010.
Phil i cannot even believe the talent you have. I idolize you. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety. I listen and watch everything you do, love your work man. I hope you finish that badass movie
fun fact some of the models used in that animation where from other movies like Charlotte's web ( for the rats ) and Beverley Hills Chihuahua ( for that big monster at the end) all modified.
Absolutely stunning work, truly shows what the creative can do with passion and time
WOW!!! PHIL TIPPETT THE MAN WHOS WORK CHANGED MY LIFE!!!
This is totally what Gamma World would look like as a movie, it's awesome!
Sharing is caring
Fun times in Mutant Land! (Can't wait to see Mad God / practical stop animation from you & your team also!) keep it up Phil & crew!!
This guy is an absolute genius it would be a dream come true to work with this guy
Everything I love in an animation in one video.
For all those geniuses commenting on how this is the best stop-motion they ever saw from Tippett.....it's NOT STOP-MOTION, it's computer generated, lol! Phil does CGI too ;)
Anyway....very cool film, well done!
That's completely wrong it's fully stop motion and Phil does not do CGI at all .
@@joker_3517 Yes you are very right
Lol Phil is against CGI
Oh my fucking god, that was NEAT!
I wish they could make a movie out of this, cause I really enjoyed it.
TheTweak18 they did it is called mad god
I'm Stunned....................
Animation Skills: 10000000
I feel bad for the mantis, but this animation it's pure gold👍👍
Great work! I really like the setting, sound effects... and everything about it. And that Ogar's Voice reminds me of Freddy Krueger Voice. Well done
I've seen this before, but it's still as brutal as ever. anybody else think this might be one face of hell
Wow! just found out about the Mad God movie today, definitely gonna have to check it out after seeing this.
My mom showed me this in 2017, it gave me nightmares.
I absolutely love everything you are making. Inspiring and I want to do it all myself. Please help
I just watched this for the first time. That was amazing!
its not as scary years and years later after seeing it for the first time in middleschool, I only saw it twice, once 7 years ago and once now when i found it and knowing what to expect but, tibbett.. what a mad god (ha current reference) i subbed at the time but never found it again because i have so many subs and couldn't remember what channel did it until a review of mad god went up and i saw the similar style of just. badass gross dystopian horrific intriguing art and i typed in the brothers name, i remember the first death shaking me hard and the second death being salt in the wound for me but that last one was deserved, you dont just hunt near the danger after being lured lmao it was an amazing set up but looking on it now it was definitely a one off piece for ye ol protfolio and its just great to see this guy again
Wow! Mr. Tippett!
idk why I'm barely realizing this masterpiece of art work , we appreciate it
that was really good, bunny got the last laugh i like it.
This would make an amazing setting for an RPG on the Xbox/Play station.
I want to say, it is amazing you worked on all of these movies and some shorter projects and you don't stop, it is very, VERY inspiring!
Phil would make a really good warhammer universe
He would make such a dope daemon world or iust a forge world in general. God I would love to see that.
Can't wait for this to have a full movie like "9"
So, so cool! It's like looking inside my head. Love the mantis!
The dumbest decision they made was following the rope that the frobbit was tied to
This should become a series :D
the best FX for my thanks mr Phill for the dream video
Well done ! now I have nightmares......
Make this a game
Snapshot the Mad Hatter I can see this working as a sci fi dark souls
Yes
Lol I was just about to comment that.
Especially loved the bunnyfrog!!
great stuff,by the great phil tippett.....reminds me of my local supermarket at this strange and testing time!
Visual record of two Imperial Assassin trainees failing a simple hunting test on a death world.
Edit: The Servo Skull is the cameraman filming this.
More like Death Cultists as they really didn't match anything except maybe Callidus?
Reminds me of saying my dad told me.
"It ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun."
Wow!! This was amazing!! The action and attention to details. The story was very cool also. Thanks for posting.
I would pay for a full length film of something like this
That, was, amazing. Your life's work Mr. Tippett, will be astounding to the genres.
Wow!!!!! That is some serious world building in this movie.
A Masterpiece before the Masterpiece!
Thanks for all the mutants, Phil!!
Have no words watching this and all your work mr.Tippett!..just claping my hands...born87
I've been trying to find this for years XD I finally found it
I FINALLY FOUND IT AFTER SO MANY YEARS IT APPEARS IN MY RECCOMENDED!!!!
I like to imagine this takes place in the mad god universe
Holy shit I've been searching so long for this! I loved it when I first saw it and haven't been able to find it in years! I want to see more! I love the Mantis bro!
I got recommended this by RUclips and it was dope af shame I didn't see it sooner.
this is godlike stop motion
Guys, this isn't stop motion. Not everything Phil Tippet does is. This is CGI.
This feels like something straight out of Fallout. The apocalyptic environment, mutants, etc.
Can't stop watching this so cool
Wow, that was unexpected and awesome. Can't wait for Mad God.
finally i find this video cinematic for about 5 years after i watch from the first time
now that mantis kicks ass
Omg, I find this video for five years.
Every moment of this video was sublime.
I love this universe. It would be suitable for a game or a series
Holy crap how have I missed this gem.
Moral of the story. Never case an obvious trap.
After mad God
I want this as a movie now
This was awesome. I can't wait for Mad God.
That was amazing I thought for sure one of the three would make it out alive
What a hellish little vision
I'm surprised this doesn't have more views. Some serious Fallout vibes!
My only disappointment with this is that it moves a bit too quickly...I want some slower shots so I can admire the character design and creativity involved. Other than that, genius.
I'd love to see a Conan the Barbarian short story brought to life by this studio, that would be incredible...
I was thinking the same thing. I feel like he would nail that world perfectly. We need more of Robert E. Howard's works animated in general.
Very impressive definitely be looking at this channel more
MAD GOD trailer led me to this. I cannot believe I had not seen this sooner!
That was freaking nuts
This should so be a movie by now
Master Tippet, I bow to you
i feel like this video was way more older. It made me such a huge impression way back. I look for it a long time and now, it's like I have reunited with a nightmare that I didn't know I cherished. gasp
I would love to see a full length movie set in this world.
wow... holy damnz. that was some of the most entertaining stop motion i may have seen. that being said . i had the opportunity to mostly witness , but also work with Steve Miller, on the set of (2009) film, Coraline, from Laika studios. so can barely begin to understand your struggles .
amazing work Mr.phil.
This isn't stop-motion, it's CGI.
Beautiful animation. Just smooth, brutal, and adrenaline pumping with every second!
you have a strange mind like no other, I love it
yooo ive been searching for this vid, man!
Excellently creepy
