    It’s the little things that associates do in the garden center of Lowe’s that make a huge difference in the plants. Dumping the extra water out… top tier. I can’t say how many times I’ve lifted a pot of water in the garden center 😂

    • @lotsofpots.Rachael
      @lotsofpots.Rachael  3 месяца назад

      Yes. I completely agree. It's the small things that make such a big difference. The plant attendant looked like he was in a plant zone caring for the plants. He was enjoying his plant care time. I was happy to see it, and I could tell he was happy with what he was doing.
      Thank you for watching! ☺️

    Beautiful finds Rachael! They would have jumped into my arms too! And some aglaonemas! I have trouble with the silver sword too.....my first one I paid lots for back when they were pricey, is doing well but it is petite....my other one that was big I ended up cutting it all back and I am starting it again! Fun fun fun when hubby helps film....what a trooper!! I hope your 2 new alocasias are still doing fine! I love them all too! See you soon butterfly! Love tina

      Hello to you my Tina!!!! Yes, they just jumped into my arms as happy as can be!
      We had a wonderful time shopping. I love that he indulged me through all of the plant rambling I was doing.
      The silver sword doesn't look as if it would be so challenging, but.... I wonder if it needs less light that it seems to need. I have my two-leaf plant in full sun. hmmmmm....
      Yes, both of these alocasia are doing really well. the dragon with the broken leaf if still holding on full and strong. I am shocked! I will take it as long as it wants to hold on.
      Thank you for watching Tina!!! Kisses and hugs to the baby girls!

    Love your energy! My process of introducing a plant to my home is similar to yours. Some ppl say, don't re-pot it until it acclimates to your home. Nahhhh. If you don't make it after removal of all your soil, a proper soapy bath, and soaking your roots in water and hydrogen peroxide, you don't get to live here!! Doesn't matter how much I pay for the plant, it's getting the same treatment when it comes to mingle with the rest of my plants. At the same time, I've never had a plant die after such preventative treatment.

    • @lotsofpots.Rachael
      @lotsofpots.Rachael  3 месяца назад +1

      I 💯٪ agree! Bath and repot. Those plants almost always have hitchhikers at this time of year. No matter where you buy them from!
      Good job!

      You are "King Alocasia Head" LOL!!!!
      TJ always brings in great alocasia. The small pots can be a little sneaky because they blend in with everything else. Last year this size was $3.99. the price increase for $1.00 includes a cute ceramic pot. I am ok with that.
      I hope you find some plant babies in your TJ

    GM. I was shopping for plants at my local Lowe's and was being bad. They had boxes that hadn't been opened yet, so me being me I opened a couple of them and find an Alocasia that I've never seen before. So u know I had to buy it. It was from Live Trends. After getting it home and searching it, it's an Alocasia Low Rider. I was happy to have purchased it. I love the stems on it. They look sort of like zebra specks. I do love Alocasias, so I'm going to put in substrate and watch it grow. But I do love the ones you purchased.
    Have a wonderful day!!

      Ooooooo.... the excitement of unopened plant boxes!!!!! The low rider is amazing. It grows so quickly. I am sure you will love it! My lowrider does not have specs on the stems. that sounds so pretty! Enjoy your new plant baby. thank you for sharing your find with me. Now I need to keep up my shopping to find some unopened boxes. LOL!!!!!!

      CARLOS!!!! Happy Wednesday to you!!!
      Yes, my dragon scale is still in its cast and the leaf is still healthy. I will hold on as long as it does. The new leaf is well below the break line, so I am hoping that it will hold on until that leaf is ready to emerge. I would love for it to stay for keeps. The cast is not blue painters' tape. It supports the stem much better.
      My silver dragon is loving the low light. I was shocked with that. I was stressing my plants with too much light. They burn so easily.

    11:12 this is the Ficus Shiverana. The Tineke is lighter in color almost like Belize when unfurling, but then lightens to beige

    • @lotsofpots.Rachael
      @lotsofpots.Rachael  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, you are right. I don't know why i mixed those up. that is that special plant that was hard to find not too long ago. It is good to know that some of the color stays with it as it matures. I love that.
      Thank you

    • @serenitygardenaviary
      @serenitygardenaviary 3 месяца назад

      @lotsofpots.Rachael with the Shiverana, all the color stays. It is a beautiful mix of green 💚 dark and light. @crazpyplantguy Christian showed his and what a beautiful ficus. My Shiverana is in 4" pot and doing well now. Took me a while to realize it needed more water and more light than I was providing.
      The Tineke does lighten to watercolor beige splotches. I love the new orange tinted leaves. So much so I had to get the Belize Ficus. 👨🏽‍🌾👩🏽‍🌾happy gardening 💝

      thank you so much, Mona!
      I didn't realize that I kept stressing my plants out with too much light. They were stretching to go below the light that they are receiving. When I changed the lighting for them. they started to thrive. My Frydek (green). Stingray and Longiloba like very bright light. My jewel alocasia like ambient light. My cuprea had leaves that were cupping downward. I put it in soft light and they are flat again.

    • @planttherapy1860
      @planttherapy1860 3 месяца назад

      @lotsofpots.Rachael Wow! My cuprea has been cupping and bending downward! I already suspected that the silver dragon could use less light, but you confirmed it! I am literally going to rearrange them. Thanks, Rachael!
