I cant thank you enough for this kind of videos, please keep on doing them. I commented in the past that i feel like you are the future me with very similar thoughts i have. I am questioning myself for years why I have problems doing the things I like (also planning a big App like you). I tried meditation, cold showering, yoga, healthy eating, sports, nature walks, digital detox, reading very much. I think all together plus your content is getting me where i want to be someday. When i dont do it, I am feeling guilty and a bit worthless. Keep up the awesome videos, i love them. Greetings from Germany
Thinking week is a concept I just came across through the book Deep Work. It is something that I have planned for this year. Glad you enjoyed yours. The videography is awesome. Keep doing good work!
when you said "...you don't even have to go away..." you absolved my guilt for not doing this away from home. I'm trying this for the first time - Excited to see what it's like! Thanks for sharing your experience
This was so atmospheric and beautifully composed. I like that your content isn't just screen recordings and voice-overs, it's quite unique to have code interlaced with cinematic shots of snowy vistas and cosy cabins. Keep up the fantastic work 😊😊

I love this one! The need for information detox is real. In times of Social Media we're transformed into input-junkies without us even realizing it. How many people would be willing to put their smartphone down for a day, two days or even a week? Heck, how many people can spend some alone time with nothing but their thoughts and a book. We already are information addicts. *Interesting:* Those ppl who take a break find it hard for the first couple of hours. After that they start feeling better, because of all the noise they've shut out. *Premise:* Know how to be alone. Thx for this post Kalle.
Fun Fact: Not everybody has a "Voice inside the Head", it's called Inner Monologue. People that don't have it usually tend to move their lips while reading and speak while are forming an idea. To test if you have it or not just read / write something if you can listen to your voice without reading / writing then you have inner monologue.
I also disconnect from everything once in a year and go on trek in the mountains where there are no network, no phone calls, no internet just me and the nature. And seriously it give me strength and balance my mind and it gives me a mental peace.
It’s a great idea. And the ‘cabin’ looks beautiful. I think Bill Gates is more specific in his topics, it’s not a whole area like productivity, but you do you 😊
Relating back to your bot trading video, what would happen if you had unlimited API calls per minute? Would you make more money? I've been thinking about this since it came out...
Since that video, I'm building a Trading Bot. And I don't even know if Kalle truly traded. The alpha advantage is not trustworthy in terms of data, so I intercepted the data that comes from the stockbroker I have an account, and then I was able to make Unlimited calls from several stocks and test with past data and working with a strategy to make it work. For now, I'm using the Doji technique from the article that Kalle shared, and tweaking in order to find better approaches.
Your videos really inspire me to improve myself in every single day. I’ve been working with Tech company in Thailand but still taking online courses about programming and blockchain then I found out your channel. I set the goal for myself what I would like to be and work. Thank you very much about your sharing even life style. Please do it more and more. I am a big fan to support and be a student to learn from you too 😊
I recorded on a canon eos r. And yes it was a little distracting but I limited the shooting of the video to just two days which meant the rest of the week was without it :)
Kalle Hallden im glad to hear it wasn’t too distracting. I did a somewhat partial weekend detaching. I finished two books and watched movies and limited my phone time
Funny saw the documentary 2 years or so ago and been thinking about bill at the lodge, reading his book drinking his cola lol and just reading. Wish I could switch off like that.
This is really nice. I like to go to the mountains during hunting season to watch nature and that is when I found the secret to deer season. Nature naps are amazing. Nobody around to wake you, nor anything around to disturb your inner peace. Just you and nature. Plus if anyone does come by and wonder why you are out in the woods with a gun you can always say its hunting season. lol Never gotten a deer, but a lot of sleep and relaxation.
I watched that documentary but for some reason missed this very cool “Thinking Week” segment. Perhaps I was distracted or my memory failing me at the moment. Glad you are sharing your take and I’m thinking of ‘Thinking Week’ of my own. By the way, when you go for that nature walk, don’t leave your phone. What if you run into something beautiful in nature? Don’t be so selfish 😜. Or running into a stranger that may require medical attention?🤓. Just keep it silent.
Loved the video and your channel is very inspiring. Consider maybe making a video about the books you read or at least mention the list of books you took with you. It would be very interesting to know. Keep up the great work.
Bro, i think you should focus more on the agenda of the think week. it is to "think deep" focus on something deep about the future, what will change the future, how the current things will impact the future. just reading something means nothing it is not think week it's just a vacation
I really like this idea but now I’m interested in what you did once you came back home. I finde my self catching up on things I didn’t do or watch. For example on RUclips I will still watch most of the videos of channels I’m subscribed to. So I feel like I can’t stop but instead just delay my media consumption! I know it’s not all about media consumption but I think it’s a big part of such an experience.
I hate surprise ads in the middle of the video. Just put them at the end of your video so that if the content was good people are willing to listen to the ad at the end.
@Kalle Hallden If you wanna focus more properly on the tasks u wanna carry out, start "sound meditation" and places like these are probably the best places to do sound meditation, so do try it :)
Who all thought by seeing the thumbnail that "bill gates Collabed with kalle hallden"
yeah i was like bruh a 100billion net worth guy collabed with a 150k yt'er???
Me
I wish the thumbnail was true. You should meet up with Bill Gates ;-)
Haha yeah I thought that was a bit far fetched for anyone to think, but seems like a lot of people thought that!😆
I whish though
As a fellow programmer, I gotta say your videos are fantastic. The atmosphere you give off just inspires me to be more productive
Dopamine Fasting. I bet it's gonna be the new thing in 2020
Yeah probably! :)
It's not new
Dopamine Detox actually
Accurate prediction bro!

This small part in the documentary defiantly hit me but I haven't had the chance to try it. Glad it worked out for you!
Nice, seems like a lot of people noticed it! :)

The irony of this video having a paid promo in the middle.

I am glad that I am not the only one that thinks this idea of taking a break from unnecessary things is awesome. Keep it up. I ENJOY THINKING.
Step 1. Have a cabin
Step 2. Have one week to spare
Step 3. Have books
Step 4. Have Bills brain

Your videos are just beautiful. It just makes me feel happy and inspired too.
Nice! Thank you for saying that, I really appreciate it! :)
The thumbnail picture had me click so fast... 😂 great video tho

Hey kalle I love the quality of your video
You've mastered the art of click bait
Might be a silly question but do you have a drone?
Your scenic video snapshots are very nice!
So basically, Bill Gates and you invented... Vacations / Holiday ? Hum.... :D
I love that I’m not the only one that watched that documentary and immediately was sold on it.
Could you please provide your book list? :)
Well done! Saw the documentary too a few weeks back. It already inspired me, you confirmed it :-)
Glad to hear that! Seems like so many people saw it and thought of wanting to do it! :)
I have the lean startup too. What do you think of it?

It's an advantage to be faster. You could use web sockets

Perfect, being quarantined ain't that bad now
wouldn’t have been more beneficial do read a diverse set of books to inspire your creativity

I want to go to this place. What is the name of the place. I tried to search AirBnB but did not find it. Please HELP?
Could you please share the details about the place you stayed? Thanks.
