There are a lot. First, white ink will come through more easily. The mesh is designed for dye ink. Epson didn't expect you to do those tricks with DTF. Then, consider how you flush and service the printhead. Mesh is just a nightmare. Also, ET-8550's OEM damper is just a swimming pool, sitting on top of a poorly sealed printhead.
Silicone sealant is fine, but I prefer using Liquid Electrical Tape, same manufacturer as that silicone, but it seals great. Have to let it dry a good few hours, but being able to peel it off in one clean piece while still keeping ink out of the electrical connectors is a big help. FFCs are cheap, but nice to be able to easily salvage them in a pinch.
Hi Kevin, I bought all the necessary materials for the upgrade, but I'm curious. The dampers always have an air bubble. Are they okay or damaged? I don't understand why.
You can do it yourself. Hey Kevin, i have a question, but i don't know how to reach out to you, other then comments. I'm searching for a sublimation printer, that prints at least 9" wide and can print from a roll. I was wondering if it's possible to modify any ecotank printer, so it can print from a roll. Otherwise i'm screwed, since those printers cost at least 3k€. I appreciate your help and thanks in advance 😊
Sure. Check out L18050 in your market. Or ET-8550 in the US/Canada market. You will need to get gray sublimation ink, but it is do-able. You can also use a RIP software to bypass the roll feed. Actually, think again, you don't need to get gray ink. Just leave the two white channel empty. Then when you have clogs, you can use those two channels. Win-win. What exactly is the advantage of the nipple set up over mesh? Is it less prone to clog?

@@BCHTechnologies so you think removing the mesh on the white channels would help?
You should offer a complete conversion kit. I just bought all the parts from you, but a whole kit would have been nice.
We’re on it right now! Thanks so much for your advice and support!
Did you put it together? I just bought the cover and my dampers don't fit. Epson 8550, what else do you have to buy?

I 3D printed a frame to hold the ink lines.
Way to go Darus. By the way, nice video on the fog machine thing!
Hey Kevin
when we do the drag chain and tubes can we still put the side cover on it? Not the top corner one. But the side one? Linda
