Sorry Matt and Andrea, we love your thorough reviews, but the issues noted hit a nerve, because we have found the same annoying short comings in many RVs. The beds are too short to accomodate tall folk. The double sink has to be covered to have enough cooking prep area when you often need them both available while cooking. I definitely don't want to step in the dog bowl at night, so it would be better out of the way in the pantry area. For almost 200K they could have put a laundry area. The outside kitchen would have been better with a grill than a second fridge. Hope the designers are taking notes. Cheers,
According to Thor's floorplan, the 30C has a 72 X 76 bed. It looks more like a 60 X 72 (RV King dimensions: 72 X 80). Matt, get a tape measurer.
I kept thinking the bed needed to turn 90* - it looked wider than long. Maybe it was the camera angle.
What really gets me is that the drawers under the seats of the dinette are small! The drawers should be the length of the seats, I mean really! As much as these suckers cost, and they're not cheap you'd think that a washer dryer combo would be installed for the price of the motorhome.🤬
that would decrease your cargo capacity to where you couldn't even bring extra clothes to wash and dry
My cat would absolutely love the kitty window. It would fascinate her, I bet. Great for bird watching, whilst camping 😻🐦
Matt, thanks for your review! My HUGE dislike is a $197K “ENTRY LEVEL” motor home! My goodness, it was nice but, it’s a Thor! Their rep is quality low price entry level units. To me, for that price, there should be a ton more bang for the buck. 55” televator tv? More room for the throne? Bigger KW generator? Biggest Ford chassis with 21.5 s? Frameless dual pane windows? W/D setup? It’s a big nothing burger. Tell Andrea Hi for us!
We cross shopped quite a few entry gas A's, seemed like the FR3 was the best of the lot for the price.
It's an absolutely disgusting and embarrassing price and they shouldn't even be advertising it as close to acceptable.
Yeah. As far as MSRP goes they aren't that much less than a premium brand such as the Winnebago Adventurer and are higher than Winnebago's much better entry level Vista/Sunstar lines.

MSRP is a fictional number! Most of these sell for around 130K + or -

definitely one of the best layouts. Smart to have the slides on the non-party side of the RV. Smart to have the mechanical systems on the non-party side of the RV, leaving most of the storage on the side where you spend most of your outdoor time. A fully self contained bathroom. Really can't ask for much more in terms of layout.

Nothing screams quality like broken blinds etc on a brand new motor home. I'm sure they will fix any problems before someone takes delivery,. Right?
Great layout. I guess there is a reason that it’s the #1 selling entry level RV.
The only thing that I did not like was the jackknife sofa. I would prefer theater seats.
They needed to extend the backslash to to side of the stove . My husband could not fit on the bed he is 6' 2". Loved the shower.

In late 2020, we looked at an ACE before our purchase of our Class C. Main reason, the Entegra Esteem 29V was $22k less. Dislikes: paint color, smaller tires, twisty storage door locks, ccc (deal breaker), cheap looking blinds, MSRP (Nov 2020, the model we looked at was $115k sale price), did that shower door have plastic in it? Likes: tie-up for dog, outside kitchen, cabinets, tv position, layout, and king bed. BTW, no regrets purchasing the Class C instead of this model.
First and for most I Love The Way You two Work Together and The Cemetery. This RV in my opinion would have Been Perfect with Theater Seats. I Love the Outdoor kitchen as Well.

Love all the storage! Hate those window "shades." Overall a good entry level coach.
I like all the storage and floor color..not big on all the white and once again no room if you had toilet paper in the roll.

My husband and I have become huge fans! Love your reviews. My husband is a big guy, 6’5”. This leaves us little option but to go with a Class A. My husband can barely fit in the driver’s seat in a Class C. Then we look at this, $200,000, Class A, and the bed is short. Also, I wish more manufacturers would make the table/chairs a option and do away with those dreadful booths. I’ve seen the table/chairs in a few Class A’s, just hoping it becomes more popular.

Kinda like this one. The bed is actually a good size for me since I'm short, but I sleep face down with my feet off the bottom edge. Decent kitchen, and the living area is well thought-out. Great video guys, as always. Keep up the good work.
Ok so lots to like about this .:. it MSRP’s at $25G above my favourite top end class C (both with Godzilla under the hood), so do we make the jump .:. Lots of sleep space 👍🏽 large bunk over the cab, king bed on a slide, sofa bed, and dinette which makes a bed; not a bad cockpit area 👍🏽 usually the C cockpit trim is more buttoned up but this looks good - big swivel seats, DOG window, work table; really nice exterior design 👍🏽 modern, big windshield, and the decal work looks good .:. washer dryer not included 👎🏽 the C has it; we’d need to option the single sink and kitchen counter extension (A+) 👎🏽 the C has both; we’d option in a pedestal table for the cockpit seats 👎🏽 sleep 6 seat 6, must eat 6 .:. king beds rule 👍🏽👎🏽 barely when they’re shorter (M+) the C is short as well .:. Overall, this entry A makes the high end C guy think - especially when there’s discounts involved .:. Thanks for reviewing M/A

When I first got interested in RV's the Thor ACE caught my attention. Very excited about this floor plan. Love the storage volume. Love the outdoor kitchen. Love the exterior look. Question: Is there a CPAP functionality in the cabinet above the bed? As a short guy I'm fine with the length of the bed but I can see how no one taller than 5'6" would fit. Wa-wah!!!
Dislike twisty lock storage. Dislike how backsplash does not wrap around the corner. Would like to see wiring for additional solar panels. Over all, love this unit.
Before you buy, find out if the Ford dealerships in your area will service the recalls and other warranty problems. In Spokane none would work on my Thor 31W. I had to go through Ford, get a case opened and one of their reps talk a Ford dealer a HOUR AWAY TO DO THE RECALL. I was lucky, a lot of other people in my area have the same problem. I
That is good advice. When we were considering a Class A it crossed my mind how would we get the engine and chassis serviced? According to the Ford website and help line the three Ford commercial truck centers within 20 miles of my house will work on them. When I called the truck centers to verify this none will work on RVs of any size. The closest truck center that will work on RVs turns out to be 90 miles from our house. After that we decided to stick to a trailer given hooking one up isn't really any more work than hooking up a TOAD and if my pickup needs work I can get that done at any Ford dealer.
Hi Matt and Andrea. Is it possible that the mattress is turned 90 degrees to allow it to remain flat when the slide is in but can be turned 90 degrees when the slide is out?

Probably add mobile satelite, with data and some solar panels.
I'm glad to see they replaced the flimsy cheap cup holders with real ones.
The bunk over cab is cool, although I would likely never use it.
Nice couch, based on entry level coach.
Dinette and couch drop to make beds, so really no need for bunk.
MSRP of $194,198 .99 is a little high for entry level, in my opinion.
Shower, not bad.
Like the bed, I guess cuz I'm short...lol.
Bedroom storage is cool too.

Hi Matt and Andrea this is a great motorhome. My dislikes are the outside water tank should be closed where the out door shower. Not sure of the short bed. No counter space. And my likes are the solid counter tops and the storage and the bathroom. Thor did a great job with this motorhome. Thank you Matt and Andrea!

Thanks for the review! Love the tons of space in the passenger area, all the storage in the kitchen and bathroom and that you can get through with the slides in. Dislikes - that bed for sure… I wish it had a washer/dryer in it and if there was a way to have recliners or a reclining sofa instead of the convertible sofa.
I don't see rv's being around for much longer if entry level is now $197k
Andrea- thanks for critiquing the kitchen design - the big double sink is a waste and it is smack in the middle of the tiny counter space. This is too often the case and it is easy to place 1 sink at the right or left of the counter space so you have some food prep room
FR3 30DS is my choice... much better bang for your buck. How can any manufacturer not use the roller shades? Love my Splendide also...practically standard equipment on the FR3 series.

I have heard stories that many Ford dealers will not provide warranty service on motorhomes. What happens if its under warranty and the power train has a problem? Where do you take it ?

Love the layout and the pop up tray was brilliant, but I agree that matress is way too short.
In the bedroom area I'd move the one of the cabinets to the other side and put the TV between them, the bed is far too short. As someone over 6' that bed is a showstopper. I seriously dislike dinettes, put a theater sofa there instead and flip the TV to the other side. Wireless charging is a niche technology that really doesn't function as advertised, at best it is about half as efficient as USB ... get rid of it. I'd replace the oven and microwave with an air fryer ... actually, replacing the propane cooktop with an induction top would probably be worth doing. The backsplash really does need to be continued down the side of the cooktop.
Matt, is inventory starting to stack up at RV dealers? And if so do you think there will be some good deals coming soon on new rvs?
Plenty of cup holders for people like me who need coffee, both hot & iced.
I think you’ll find that Yoko prefers the sunny dash board😊

That is a crazy price for an entry level brand. For a not very much higher MSRP I can get a premium brand such as Winnebago Adventurer or with a lower MSRP with Sunstar/Vista.

Best value that is a matter of opinion... Try getting a Bohemian like that in the gas lane that is the 1st dislike it is gas... Hard passed on your best number one seller

Only a couple years ago these sold for around $100,000, but in 2022 we now say that $200,000 is a great price for this entry level Class A with a cheap jackknife sofa, cheap windows and shades and a cheap TPO roof😕
Great review but there is just no room in it with the slides in. I will stick with our class C.
Well, I don’t think it matters much if it’s a Thor, FR3, or pretty much any other Gas motorhome in this approximate size! They are all based on the F-53 Ford chassis! Every mfgr builds their units on this chassis so when you get right down to the meat of it, go for price (we got 30% off on our 30C) and go for layout. The bones are all the same!
See why can't they use that jackknife sofa for that murphy bed that was in that travel trailer on the Towables channel?? I think the toilet would have failed had there been tp on that tp holder... So that's how they tried to please you with not having the fold up bed, they made it Matt Sized (maybe you can get a deal to switch to it) LOL
Not a fan of the bunk over. If its down and fails you can't drive the motorhome. Can that be deleted ?

Can’t believe the people complaining about the “MSRP” as those figures are meaningless! You can expect anywhere from 25 to 30% off the MSRP off the bat! The 2023 7.3 Godzilla motor is now 335 HP not 350HP according to the 2023 owners manual and the length is 31 feet 11 inches not including the ladder!
It would be good if Matt could treat the RVs as if somebody was gonna buy them instead of turning them into junk. I wouldn’t buy anything Matt has reviewed.

Have the 2021 33.1 ACE. I see they dropped that model and downsized all the newer ones. I hate they took away the iconic ACE front brow. Looks just like windsport or hurricane now.
That MSRP is crazy. Obviously pricing is up but almost a 50k increase from when i purchased.
Just bought one for 133K. MSRP is a meaningless figure! You should count on at least a 25% discount right out of the gate.

As others of said, having broken stuff on a review unit is a turn off.

$195k for a 31ft, gas, "entry level" coach with propane, leaf springs and decals at what 5-5.5% interest!? Less than a year ago you could get a 38ft diesel on a raised rail freightliner chassis, full body paint, quad slide and hydronic heating for $250k at 3.5% APR (close to an equivalent payment). This is going to be a ROUGH couple years for the RV industry! For those of you looking to buy, keep an eye on the used market - you're about to see a flood of deals coming your way!
If $197, 000 is entry level it price’s most Americans out. At that cost i could stay at 5 star hotels year round
A good review guys but this one felt really rushed. Long day? Extra hot weather? Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I got the feeling that overall for the price that you did not really like the RV. Not a good look to show off a brand new model and there are things broken or not working.

I hate those blinds my RV has those and none of them work!
Pricing in the entire industry is just ridiculous. You can spend many many nights at a 5 star resort/VRBO or a lifetime of nights at a nice motel in fantastic places/destinations in or near National Parks, etc. for the price of these RVs.
Major dislike is the bed size and the generator placement under the bed
If that front passenger seat does not go any further forward then the work table is useless.
I'm 5'9" tall, so that bed wouldn't be workable for me, but it's otherwise a beautiful motor home.
