    Thanks! I figured this would be a pretty straight-forward job but I've never done it before, so a quick RUclips tutorial can't hurt. About the best DIY vid I've ever watched. Fine work, sir.

    Dude that is so easy I thought it would break the bank to do this. While it will cost a few hundred for all it’s so worth it

    Thank you very much, guys. Gf got quoted over 800 dollars to repair and we did it for a little over 250. :) Also she really enjoyed learning how to fix her car.

    2002 Saturn . I finally lined up the bolts by having someone press down on the rotor/caliper which moved it down to line it up. Helps when you have an extra pair of hands. Great video. TU

    Awesome Help! I ordered 4 struts for my older work car. Parts arrived in 3 days. No problem even through a winter storm. Followed step by step for the first strut replacement then did the other 3 no problem. I will for sure be a 1aauto customer in the future. 5 stars #yourthebomb

      Done, gave you a great review! I just finished installing the front struts and it was just as easy as in the video, if it wasn't for the video I would never have done it myself and paid waaaaay too much at the garage. I will be ordering the rear struts soon. Thanks again!

      It's been awhile, but hopefully can get a reply. Do agree the video was helpful. Did you order a 1aauto brand (e.g TRK) and how did they fit/work? There are different inhouse part brands to my understanding. Some manufactured in the states, and others overseas. Would appreciate to hear your experience as I'm in the process of considering ordering these exact parts as well. Thanks!

    Your info says 19 mm head (max) but the two lower bolts are 21 mm. Fyi.

    Does this require an allignment like some assemblies or is this design bolt and go.

      It is recommended to get a alignment anytime replacement struts are installed. However, there are a few exceptions where the vehicle manufacturer does not provide alignment provisions, or where the alignment angles are not affected by a strut replacement. However to be on the safe side if you are going through the trouble of replacing them, i would get an alignment. That way you know the suspension is sitting the level and the tires will wear evenly. Hope this helped!

    Question. On one of my mounting nuts on the top of the hood had it's head sheared off. Will this make it difficult to get the struts out?

      Thank you for watching. It will not chane the removal, it should still slide right out.

    When removing the initial mounting nuts/bolts after removing the tire, is there any specific reason why you couldn't use an impact gun? Is it done for fear of stripping?
    I also would like to ask about replacing the control arm, as I was watching your video on replacing the control arm for the Sunfire/Cavalier. Is there a preferred order in replacing these parts or could I remove both at the same time? While watching that other video, I believe you had made the comment of holding the strut up with a jack. Wasn't sure it would cause more problems to remove the strut and replace the control arm before replacing the strut or if I could just remove both and replace the parts as I see fit.

      +Blue Link You should be able to remove both the shock and the control arm. Then replace the control arm and then the shock. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

    How do you loosen the bolts on the bottom if there not coming out when you keep hammering it?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  8 лет назад

      +Andrew V Soak them in some kind of penetrating oil for starters. Let that sit for a couple of hours to give it time to really get in there, then try tapping them out with a hammer again. If that still doesn't work, you could try using a torch to apply some heat and hopefully break them free that way. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393
