This is good and all... but how did you managed to mask fretboard with such precision? 0_o
THis video is a godsend! Thanks!
Great tutorial !! Thanks !!
I shall be kind to my future self!
I have never used ebony on my ukuleles. But the oak, walnut and ash I use may benefit from the wee bevel.
I start the frets (9-18” radius) on one end with a gentle tap.
I press in the frets with a quick clamp with rubber pads on the faces. Then seat them with a light plastic mallet. I have never masked the fretboard. After dressing the ends I then glue on the fretboard. No issues with recoil…. And ukuleles usually have the neck in the same plane as the flat top.
Really interesting!
thank you Eric
On Amazon they showing me the two sided fret hammer with hard plastic or rubber. Is the rubber side of hammer good to use or should i seek out a brass hammer
Do you apply glue to the frets? Would you recommend using glue for electric guitars?
Hey! I would like to ask for some help regarding a question I have: is there any functional justification for the fact that most of the headstocks created by the big brands of acoustic guitars have a design where the strings come out with some angle from the nut towards the tuners? Is there anything related to tuning or string tension that justifies this, or is it just a result of the design created or lack of space to accommodate all the tuners only? Thank you very much!
Won't the slot beveling make the fret grip looser in the slot?
I addressed your comment in a new Q and A episode: ruclips.net/video/wQK59eKRTnk/видео.html
