I have been stranded in a white out and had to stay overnight before, and just having strike anywhere matches dipped in Paraffin did guarantee a fire and using my trappers double bitted axe and a few pine trees,we made it throught the whole night comfortably.
I was at Costco the other day.. and suddenly my canoe threw me out into the icy water. It was a good thing I had my blade and char cloth with me. I was saved by preparedness. >_o
