Shedinja's gimmick is neat but it's kinda easy to get around, although I found it the best pokemon to catch Deoxys in ORAS since it knows the moves false swipe and heal block, also Deoxys can't touch it since its only offensive moves are hyper beam and psycho boost, which are normal and psychic type, respectively, and Shedinja is immune to both.
Let's be honest, though. If it came down to using the moves they can learn(through Level Up or TM), Shedinja would have lost first turn since Ninjask can learn Aerial Ace. Unless they wanted to be an arse and use Protect until it failed.

Shedinija because of its ability wonder guard is great but also it’s design is absolutely amazing. It maybe have 1 HP but it makes up for it with strategy

Just thinking of how good they are from gen 5 onward is ignorant. With baton pass strategies having bans on certain pokemon and moves it's no wonder Ninjask fell off. Shedinja on the other hand is specifically used as a pivot pokemon and used to wall key targets on the opposing team. This niche was at its height when Kyogre was a problem and Shedinja hard countered it. To this day Shedinja can still pull of this niche in Ubers which is the primary use of it however cuz more moves added with each gen the harder it is for it to wall and pivot.

Goggles for weather, (and I think hazards.) Knock out all the other pokemon that could pose a threat, then troll the ones remaining as you dish out damage at your leisure. If your worried about contact affects, just use special(ranged) attacks.
I remember in middle 2018 my brother let me borrow his Omega Ruby and I caught a Nincada and I brought him ALL the way to the Champion Steven and boy was my Ninjask a BOSS
I'm more of an ingame guy, so I really like shedinja cause it sometimes saved me from difficult situations like battling Steven's Metagross. Plus it just pushed you to be creative on your strategy. But in competitive scene, I think Ninjask is far superior.
This is fantastic, has to be my favorite Form Fight so far. I actually really like shedinja, I like keeping him the back to hopefully screw over my opponent at the end of the battle
There was a unique strategy back in ORAS that plagued OU. It was called the wonder trio basically it would have mega sableye, dugtrio, and shedinja along with double defog. Basically sableye would discourage status moves in fear of having them bounce back, dugtrio would trap the fire types that would destroy shedinja and shedinja would wall some physical attackers maybe getting a burn with will o wisp
I feel so sorry for you having to do this Form Fight...you still managed to make it entertaining even with all of the failed moves. As for my preferred of the two, definitely Ninjask, if only for the design because I don't really use these two anyway.
I love Shedinja. Wonder guard got me through some of the tougher gyms I faced when I first got it way back in Ruby. It even accompanied me to the elite four. But honestly, I wouldn't use it for competitive battles because it's so easy to use super effective moves when you see it.
Its good in competitive, especially with focus sash or safety google, just tank the hit, also, its imune to fairy, which is good, its always good atleast one Shedinja in your party for situations were the opponent has 1 or 2 pokemon left
There is a way to get wonder guard on any Pokemon, just it requires alot of setting up. It follows as this. 2v2, Audino (mega or not) and shedinja. Audino uses entrainment, shedinja protects. Audino uses entrainment again, shedinja uses mimic to copy entrainment. Swap in sweeper for audino, shedinja uses entrainment. Sweeper now has wonder guard.
So? Because of Sturdy it can't be hit through offensive means. Every move that it takes, Sturdy will come in effect preventing him faint. How to beat it: Tyrantitar Sandstream. // It is a Hackmon for a reason.
You can also use Mold Breaker, Teravolt, Turboblaze, Moongeist Beam, Sunsteel Strike, Hazards, Status, and trapping moves such as Whirlpool and Infestation. On Hackamons, my best counter to sturdy Shedinja is something fast with mold breaker, and pursuit.
*I want it to be noted that this post is a very very rough calculation and as such would be limited. To be fair, 72 percent of damage dealing types cannot damage Shedinja and a large amount of moves also aren't damaging movies as well. And there are almost 800 moves in Pokemon as of Gen 8, with around 32% being status moves. But let's be real, that isn't the info that really matters. you see, in a Metronome battle, THIS is the info that matters. And of the number of moves with the type that can harm Shedinja is less than 25%... note, just type.. many of those moves are status moves that won't harm it and many of those moves also have the chance of missing... meaning, in a metronome battle, less than 20% of the moves would actually be able to damage Shedinja... and that would be without counting moves that could miss. If you think about that. in a metronome battle, each turn, Ninjask has drastically less than 20% chance of actually killing Shedinja. And for 1-hit KO, Shedinja's chances of doing the same will nearly match. And as Ninjask loses physical/special defense or HP, it's chances of being taken out increase, but Shedinja's chance of being taken out is always the same, no matter what.
Fun Fact In Competitve Shedinja Won A 1 V 3 Against 3 Other Pokemon First Knocking Out The First Pokemon Than The Other 2 Could Not Hurt Shedinja Forcing A Forfeit!

I'm new to the series, but wow, what a way to start. I love both the pokemon but Shedinja is my favorite because of its gimmick ability, I remember when I could pokemon gts website to just hack illegal pokemon in and get spiritombs with wonder guard, 10/10 childhood
I love Ninjask's look and, never knew it was so hard to train, so I love that bit of lore as well. Never really liked Shedinja, as it was really gimmicky. It's one thing to be the bug/ghost husk cast off from an evolution/metamorphosis, but it's another to actually make that pokemon have 1 HP and only five types can hit it. I so wish Shedinja just was a branched evolution, or whatever this evolution is. Maybe it had a different gimmick.
I think it really comes down to the fun factor vs practicality. I loved using Noctowl as the ghost/flying it isn't. Honestly there's still a good amount of fun to be found in ninjask too and even kecleon. It's good to break the mold with a different challenge like using the wackiest guys you can find as your team and roll with them

I had a Ninjask when I first played through Omega Ruby, and he became such a good team member. Shedinja is a unique Pokemon, but not one I would use in battle.
Trace DOES work. I used my Shedinja against Wally's Curlia and had a hard time hitting it because it had Wonder Guard, until I remembered psychic types are weak to ghost types. Shadow Ball ftw!
I remember being so excited the first time I got a Shedinja. I was like, "Where did this come from?!" and I thought it was kind of cute. But yeah, I'd rather use Ninjask because you can actually use it like a regular Pokemon; Shedinja is a lot more limited. You have to run Focus Sash on it if you want any chance of lasting more than a turn, which means you have to send it out first before your opponent can set up any hazards. It's pretty frustrating.
Shedninja is way better because in the right conditions its invincible. Especially when it has a focus sash! I killed so many Rayquaza with a Shedninja! So many battles I was loosing 1 to 4 and my one Shedninja pulled a victory!

Their preevolution Nincada is also unique. Nincada is the only pokemon where it has more base stat total than its Evolution(Shedinja) Has more Defense, its Bug/Ground which only like 2 or 3 pokemon have, and has the least weaknesses(4 bc both Ninjask and Shedinja has 5 weaknesses).
Rock slide is a 1 hit k.o in this battle for both sides

Wonder Guard should also protect from entry hazards, weather and status conditions
The same applies in FireRed/LeafGreen by using a Sableye to catch Mewtwo...
Also I'd say Sableye or Spiritomb is better to catch Deoxys
I catched Deoxys in my run with a single premier ball after wasting only 3 of them on Rayquaza, they were pretty easy to catch.

Ninjask's speed boost plus swords dance and baton pass is still a decent option. It's just inferior to scolipede now.

Ninjask nearly oneshot deoxys with a critical hit swords dance x-scissor in my playthrough of alpha sapphire. He was 15 levels lower than it.
Shedinja is my all time favorite mon. Its design and interpretation of its pairing is so well executed.

I love Ninjask's look and, never knew it was so hard to train, so I love that bit of lore as well. Never really liked Shedinja, as it was really gimmicky. It's one thing to be the bug/ghost husk cast off from an evolution/metamorphosis, but it's another to actually make that pokemon have 1 HP and only five types can hit it. I so wish Shedinja just was a branched evolution, or whatever this evolution is. Maybe it had a different gimmick.
So basically shedinja is the molted skin of ninjask 😂😂

I think it really comes down to the fun factor vs practicality. I loved using Noctowl as the ghost/flying it isn't. Honestly there's still a good amount of fun to be found in ninjask too and even kecleon. It's good to break the mold with a different challenge like using the wackiest guys you can find as your team and roll with them
Yes I love shedinja it's my favorite just because of wonder guard it makes is a jack of all trades unless there is a move it's weak against
I'll be frank, I am not a fan of Shedinja, but I got to give it props for managing to beat two Ninjasks with a combined total of 2 hp.

If you change shedninjas ability using skill swap you can give it sturdy and you it literally can’t be killed
Shedinja has 60 less hp, 60 less Special and 120 less speed... I find that kinda cool...
Wing Attack happened one Metronome too late and Fire Lash happened one Metronome too late too for Ninjask...
If a pokemon has one weakness and has wonder guard, it will be completely broken
You can actually give other pokemon wonder guard, if you have a gen 3 mimic shedinja and copy entrainment you can give any pokemon wonder guard!

In gens without fairy you should skill swap a shedinja with spiritomb.
I had a Ninjask when I first played through Omega Ruby, and he became such a good team member. Shedinja is a unique Pokemon, but not one I would use in battle.
Trace DOES work. I used my Shedinja against Wally's Curlia and had a hard time hitting it because it had Wonder Guard, until I remembered psychic types are weak to ghost types. Shadow Ball ftw!
brah shedinja has been in ubers has ninjask and even if he did he was that high up in ranking while shedinja did

I remember being so excited the first time I got a Shedinja. I was like, "Where did this come from?!" and I thought it was kind of cute. But yeah, I'd rather use Ninjask because you can actually use it like a regular Pokemon; Shedinja is a lot more limited. You have to run Focus Sash on it if you want any chance of lasting more than a turn, which means you have to send it out first before your opponent can set up any hazards. It's pretty frustrating.

Shedninja is way better because in the right conditions its invincible. Especially when it has a focus sash! I killed so many Rayquaza with a Shedninja! So many battles I was loosing 1 to 4 and my one Shedninja pulled a victory!
No way. Rayquaza is almost always run as a mega so it needs to have dragon ascent

@@infinitethunder6184 No they did use Dragon Ascent. They keep spamming it in fact. I just have focus sash and toxic, then I protect and then shadow sneak. Thats usually enough to just barely take out a Mega-Rayquaza but it always plays out like that. I just toxic stall with protect until I can't anymore then shadow sneak.

Their preevolution Nincada is also unique.
Nincada is the only pokemon where it has more base stat total than its Evolution(Shedinja)
Has more Defense, its Bug/Ground which only like 2 or 3 pokemon have, and has the least weaknesses(4 bc both Ninjask and Shedinja has 5 weaknesses).
Nincada is the only Bug/Ground
Ninjask is the fastest non-mythical/legendary mon period
Shedinja is Shedinja.
