And we wonder why the Scots actively want us to lose every tournament when all we do is bash their game despite how ridiculously rich (and corrupt) our game is. 🤣
The Scots can give it out but they can't take it.
Yes! Someone gets it.
No, the Scots want us to lose because of William Wallace
Celtic and Rangers are massive. I’m in Australia and they have a bigger fan base here than Spurs and Newcastle. If they got in the EPL they would attract players if they are run properly. I can’t believe Andy doesn’t know how global those clubs are 😂
cos spurs and newcastle have won next to sod all

Wouldn't expect Goldstein to get it. A Londoner who supports a club from oop north! Celtic would prob have to adjust to playing in the PL but be in no doubt, them and Rangers are massive clubs and their revenue would increase exponentially that would enable them to compete for top 6!
I think if they can stay in the league for the first few seasons they'll grow into a top 8 team
Then why haven't done nothing against English clubs in Europe
@@jalberto428 Every time Celtic have faced a top English side in Europe they have won.....only a few exceptions
@@jalberto428 Aston Villa are 4th and just got put out of conference league in semis, Rangers got to Europa league final just 2 seasons ago…
What?
Since 2000, Celtic and Rangers, from their tinpot league, buying players at 2 and 3 million pounds, have got to the UEFA / Europa league final 3 times. I’ve seen English teams with 700 million pound squads struggling the conference and Europa. With the finances in place Celtic would be a top 6 club.
If you include the fifa club World Cup in Europe since 2000 there’s been 13 occasions where an English team has won in Europe. Not to belittle Rangers or Celtic but they haven’t. I believe that any clubs who would join the premier league would struggle to fit in let alone do well in that and in European football at the same time.
@@420blazeitraptormanlol look at Celtics results against English opposition in the past 20 years in Europe won more than lost
Poor goldstein absolutely rattled 😂
I’m a Celtic fan and the way I interpret it is, he’s baiting Darren Bent to say Celtic are a big club. But bent doesn’t know how to give a different answer and keeps answering all the set ups the same way. Goldstein isn’t showing his true opinion here..
celtic are tiny. Ross County and Inverness are their level FACT!
Not one bit of hyperbole here when I say I question whether they could finish top 6 in championship.
Just an idiot
Why?
The reality is though that even Rangers, the 2nd team in Scotland were within a pen from winning the Europa league 2 years ago.
I agree. You look at their squads, they would struggle to survive in the Prem right now. In future with the money the Prem would bring them, that's a different story.
@@LailandiAdventuresBecause the majority of their players would be Championship Quality at best.
The SPL's all time leading scorer is Kris Boyd, who tried to play in England and was quickly turfed out, because he wasn't anywhere near as effective in The Championship.
Nothing is ever a guarantee. Fanbase alone won’t guarantee top 6, that’s true. But there’s far more to consider than just fans turning up to watch the games. With Celtic in particular, they have that ‘Irish connection’ across the world with a fanbase of an approximately 12 million, with 1 million of these in North America alone and 800 supporters clubs globally, those are insane numbers and that’s the difference between Celtic and the likes of Leeds, Newcastle, Sunderland, Everton etc who have a good following but not anywhere near the same scale. Such a following will attract major global investors who lap up that kind of support. Not to mention the money they’d make from it with the club in a huge league. Taking that into account, plus the money that comes with playing in that league, plus sponsorships, plus spending power to attract better players along with a large fanbase would give them a great chance. Unlike Leeds, Newcastle, Sunderland Everton etc, Celtic have already carved out a global reputation and interest for their atmosphere and fanbase (particularly while they’re exposed to the champion’s league audience) and that’s while they’re currently a Scottish league member, imagine what kind of club they’d be in a bigger league.
Oh the same old bullshit. Supporters clubs are tiny. Google them and you'll see they're all just made up from a couple of dozen ex pats. There are 80 supporters celtic clubs in the USA. That means you'll have about 2000 fans there. That's chicken feed. The big clubs measure their fanbase in millions.
If you had this massive fanbase you wouldn't need the EPL because you'd be generating your own huge tv income. Sky would be all over you like a rash but the truth is, there isn't a global market for celtic and rangers.
Face facts, you're journeymen in Celtic. You are there to make the numbers up. You are the same size as Bodo Glimt.
Celtic’s fanbase IS measured in millions you little fool 🤣🤣🤣🤣the supporters club statistic was an example of fan outreach on a global scale, not how many can physically attend the buildings you actual muppet, unless you’re wilfully blind or deliberately glossing over where I specifically said their fanbase is measured in the tens of millions. 12 million globally at least. The only EPL clubs that can remotely compete with those numbers are United and Liverpool. Of course, that’s if you don’t include foreign glory hunters who have nothing to do with English football who’ve jumped on the backs of Dubai United or Rasputin FC when Abramovich was running the roost there. I know it’s a bit embarrassing for your little brain to comprehend a Glasgow club having a bigger fan count than the overwhelming majority of the EPL members but come to terms with it little man, you’ll sleep better.
Andy Goldstein doesn't get it. Making Celtic comparisons with Everton. Players love playing for Celtic or Rangers because the atmosphere is on another level. theyd have the EPL money with attraction of the stadiums atmospheres'. its like Red Star Belgrade here, in Scotland all Pyros, Tifos, singing non-stop.
Players love playing for Celtic and rangers because it’s a joke of a league.
You can't have tifos and pyros in the premier league and I'm not even sure if you can have drums so there goes half your atmosphere
It's like the catholic church up there. Non stop noncing.
John stones was getting paid thousands a pounds for having goosebumps on the bench when man city came tae celtic park

Celtic have won in Scotland 😂
Everton are bigger
@@gonzojones8422 Everton are nowhere near as big as Celtic, stay off the glue lad
They are tho? 💀
The difference is celtic have an identity that makes them appealing world wide. They have a huge fan base in North America because of the Irish diaspora. The story of celtic sells world wide a club started out of charity fighting against the establishment. There are clubs in England that have big supports from where they come from and there identity is where they come from nobody cares outside of that area. You go to peru you find a celtic supporters club
I live in North America and not a single person here is waking up to watch Celtic or rangers. City shirts absolutely everywhere here now, more than United and anyone else in England. They don’t sell Celtic or rangers shirts here in Mexico, nobody knows who you are. Leave Scotland and you’ll see

@@jakecook4816 I am a Scotsman now staying in Melbourne. there is 3 Celtc supporters clubs in Melbourne. Wearing a replica top doesn't amount to be a supporter of being a club
So do united and look at them 😂
Diaspora? Nice. Have a like.
I don't think you can actually predict how well they would do, because they have not recruited at a high level in decades. The only thing we know for certain is that Celtic is run better than Rangers. Celtic is so used to domestic glory that their fans cannot comprehend having to compete with more than one club with a similar budget.
If players from around the world, international players, are willing to go to Newcastle then they’d go further to Glasgow.
They go to Glasgow for an easy life.

These two clubs are massive but Scotland wants independence so stay where you are. Funny how people hate everything about England but when it comes to money they will sell out.
Who says wanting independence means hating England and who says anyone wants to join English football? Dafty
The two teams in Scotland will never be considered big unless they can actually do something in the Champions League.
The old firm with their current playing squads would be cannon fodder in the premier league & would struggle to stay in the division, let alone top 6, that's not even worth a discussion.
Half the premier league is garbage
@jamesm9995 the bottom 5 clubs in the EPL would win the Scottish premiership.... Actually the bottom 5 championship teams would
Yes they probably would but we all know if celtic and rangers had the same cash we would well be up there
That’s correct but that’s not the discussion 😂
Why wouldn’t they sign better players with the vastly greater income playing in the EPL would guarantee?
I support neither Celtic or Rangers but am Glasgow born and North Lanarkshire bred (still live in North Lanarkshire) and Andy simply doesn't get it. It's not about the size of the two clubs alone, but what it means to succeed as a player at either of the two. The lure of playing for Celtic or Rangers if they were in the EPL would be ENORMOUS for a player, and where Andy doesn't get it, Darren does. He knows that if both Celtic or Rangers were in the EPL the opportunity to be set for life, way beyond playing or media work and the riches it brings, is a huge lure. It's basically Legend status, and even with both playing in a not great league, the players who stick around, drink in what it means to play for either club, and succeeds, means they go recognised among these clubs international support.
It's just different up in Glasgow and North/South Lanarkshire compared to bloody Bournemouth or even Tottenham, City, and I need not go on. When Ange's time is over at Spurs, regardless of his level of success, he will confirm that. Liverpool and Manchester United? Different story, but not one in which those two would automatically dwarf either Celtic or Rangers when it comes to expectations and overall brand, if they were all in the same league.
It's hilarious how Celtic fans are so desperate to abandon Scotland and suck on England's dong 🤣
Wouldn’t mind seeing a structural change whereby, the top 2 Scottish teams play off against the championship third and fourth teams to see who gets in the PL. obviously money would need to go into the SPL to support it so lots financially to solve for but would put theories to the test. You could end up with an entirely Scottish premier league in England over time but would be interesting to see.
Celtic and rangers are not comparable to 99.9% of the teams in England and comparing them to Everton is nothing short of stupidity
I think they would similar to Newcastle after a few years in the league; unfortunately it can be difficult to get overseas players to play in the north.... and they are really north.
Celtic and Rangers would struggle in the Championship

Size of the stadium is not as important.
Bradford City's stadium is twice the size of ours and they ar in League 2
Goldstein is underestimating the size of Celtic and the amount of worldwide support we have. We would be competing with Liverpool, Man U and city for players within a few years with PL money
If you were big you wouldn't need EPL money because you'd be making your own wealth via your supposed global fanbase.

And where do you think that TV money comes from? It comes from fans wanting to watch English clubs. They don't want to watch Scottish clubs. The only reason why the English, Spanish, Italian and German clubs didn't have TV money back in the 80s and earlier is because global TV subscriptions weren't available to fans back then. Everton should be above the likes of Fulham, Bournemouth, Palace, Brighton and Wolves based on the logic that being a bigger club means you'll inevitably float to the top. Newcastle only turned a corner after being bought by an oil state. They were a Championship club less than a decade ago despite having a fanbase larger than half the premier league.
All this said, they'd never be allowed to just switch over straight to the Prem, they'd have to go through the pyramid in some way, starting no higher than League Two.
Celtic would immediately have one of the biggest fan bases, one of the biggest stadiums, one of the best scouting networks and is extremely well run being operated on profit year in year out with the added tv revenue they would bring in and the added sponsorship they would get it would easily turn them into one of the most profitable teams in the world not to mention that going forward most people in Ireland and Scotland would just end up supporting Celtic or rangers as apposed to English clubs. One thing that is bad about the Scottish Premiership is that it’s a two team league being little brother to the Prem…. Heavily Ultras & pyros and Tifos. its like 80's English scene brought into the 2000's. its unique and English players that come up say its the best atmosphere derbies & european games. Fun over money.
Gascoigne was drunk when he did that 🤣🤣🤣
Neither do you apparently. 2022 Celtics turnover was about 122mil gbp with a profit of 40mil. Leicester was 285 turnover and that was with a value reduction of 16%. Celtic are barely....barely in PL territory as far as finances go.
Smug w⚓ that Goldstein. Knows absolutely sweet f/a about football heritage and history
Think Andy is missing the point with this one
Goldstein entirely missing the point of how well celtic are run in terms of structure and recruitment as is.
The clubs like Man U and chelsea soending big moneybin the PL struggling... they are run in total.shambles
I'm Scottish but not a fan of either Rangers or Celtic.
Both are massive clubs, institutions in fact.
Ask any English players who have played for either club and they will tell you.
They both would struggle initially, but would in time be up there challenging at least.
Between the 2 of them they have around 1400 supporters clubs worldwide.
Each supporters club just has a couple of dozen members. That's the difference between celtic and big clubs. Big clubs measure their fanbase in millions whereas Celtic measure their in dozens
Andy Goldstein being entitled as usual. It's not about attracting players. It's to to dk woth what you can pay these players.. when celtic can compete with the money of the Premier league they would "attract" bigger players than most premier league teams. It would take a few years granted.. pure and unadulterated playground argument from goldstein.
can we start a petition for talkSPORT to get goldstein some medical intervention to his delusionary behaviour, because it's just sad at this point how out of touch with reality he is, and how absolutely disgraceful his takes are.
You just don't like hearing the truth.
@@johntate5050 i mean it's objectively not true and there's myriad ways to prove it, if you're genuinely trying to peddle this bullshittery as truth then I don't really know what to say to you, other than to inform you that you're a deluded Muppet who needs to get their head checked by a medical professional.
Funny how nobody and i mean nobody has gone to Celtic for the badge as the pay is awful in comparison to the prem. If Celtic were the club everyone wants to be at why hasnt big players retired there?.
Can’t imagine anyone leading with “cause we’re called Celtic” as the argument for ability. Sorry C E L T I C. What’s your relevant point caller??
They ain't got the cash to pay the wages , no matter where they go!!!! There's teams in leauge 1 with a bigger wage bill !!!!!
As of now they would be relegated. If they survive for 1 or 2 seasons, they can easily be a top 10. But only if they move to the premier league. They don't have the broadcast money at the moment.
Let them both join the premier and see what happens, they won't last long I would say bottom half.
Both relegated.
20 years ago, maybe. But now that even mid table premier league clubs resources that dwarf Celtic's and lot of clubs have even bigger international following than Celtic now. No, they would be a bottom half club at best.
What about Celtic are a global brand? You’re supposed to be knowledgeable, there aren’t a lot of people outside England who support anyone other than Utd and Liverpool. I don’t know why you’re getting out your pram about it.
What global support? If you had global support you'd have massive income from all those fans paying to watch you on tv.
Glasgow is the 3rd biggest city in the uk. It would have the economic pull to create the ability to be a top club.
Wrong…Glasgow isn’t the third biggest city in uk
But players would rather live in London or Manchester than Scotland
Manchester is the rainiest city in the UK and an absolute dump. Loads of players don't go there because of that. Mourinho stayed in London for crying out loud!!!! 😂
@@ParzifalPip but I didn’t say they would prefer Manchester over London did I? They would prefer Manchester/London over Glasgow, helps if you can read
@@JL-uv9yj Yep. You win. Tit.
Only one way to find out, get them in the English leagues, we got enough Welsh teams that are hardly decent anymore until Wrexham get there, so get the 2 best Scottish teams in, so they can actually have an opportunity to progress in the footballing world, also Scotland get to have a complete shake up of who will become the best teams. I’m for them joining our league just cus it would be interesting with the size of the clubs they are, but would need time to invest as yeah, right now they’ll be relegated, jeez Brendan relegated Leicester with a decent squad, let alone the average championship side he has playing at Celtic right now.
They wouldn’t. They wouldn’t get an easy game every two weeks. It would be full on. I watch both gets and celts. Not good enough
Andy doesn’t get it does he. Celtic are bigger than the likes of West Ham and Newcastle. They are massive world wide. Look at champions league nights at Celtic park. No atmosphere in Europe matches it. Celtic and rangers hold the highest ever travelling support in history to European finals. The premier league would make them even bigger
deluded.
If Celtic were playing in the English league and winning nothing, or Rangers, they wouldn't be a big club, they are big clubs cos they win everything in a tiny league
They jave no chance of finishing in the top half of the table, nevermind top 6, celtic and rangers fans are the most deluded fansbases in the world, the level of the spl is the same as the english league 2
Celtic would finish bottom half of the championship and rangers in the middle of league 1
Of course they would, as would Rangers. In fact, probably any Scottish team would do well - given the amount of money, support and infrastructure the PL gives their teams. Celtic and rangers have always punched above their weight in football (sure, Celtic haven’t been great in Europe for a while, but they cannot keep any of their good players). Every team in Scotland that play the two Glasgow clubs treat it like a cup final, they want a win, every time. The SPFL isn’t as easy as the English all think it is; but let them have their ignorance, their league is an absolute joke these days.
Look at how many incredible Scottish players and managers and coaches all went down south. The PL’s greatest ever manager is a Scot. The Scot’s have had a massive influence in the PL. Liverpool? Bill Shankly and Dalgleish. Man U? Busby and Ferguson. The great Leeds team in the 70’s was full of Scots: I could go on…
Anyone that says otherwise is either ignorant, delusional or they’re taking the piss.
Blackburn....money equaled league title
They would have been a top 5 team in the premiership up until the late 90s. If you put the current Celtic team in the league they would be relegated, no doubt.
If City could do it from where they came from, Celtic certainly could in time.
Celtic are “big” because of the Irish ☘️ diaspora around the world that’s why they have support bases in America, Australia etc.
Measured in hundreds not millions.
