William Trevor memories of Youghal

A short film of Irish novelist, playwright and short story writer William Trevor, KBE , and his memories of the time when in he lived and worked in Youghal, Co Cork.
There are some great shots of The Marine Bar and the front strand and other local landmarks like The Loreto Convent. Watch out for local faces around the town and teenagers enjoying the amusements at Perks when it was at the front strand.
William Trevor wrote the short story "The Ballroom of romance" starring Brenda Fricker, as the lonely farmers daughter who hoped to find love at the local ballroom. Also starring in that film were: John Kavanagh, Mick Lally, Cyril Cusack and Niall Tobin.
