I was thinking about this. How come heavy tanks in assault arcade cost alot more than regular tanks.the reloading rate makes them useless for assault mode. The answer to that is simple they don't actually play the game.

As someone who plays 8.7, the MiG 21 PFM and F-13s are a near-constant thorn in my side. I face them regularly and there's very little I can do against them, because it doesn't really matter how bad their missiles are when they can completely dictate the engagement. I mean, they're mig 21s fighting sabres for fuck's sake. We really need decompression for top tier air badly.

The F-5E managed to hard counter the Bis as most 21Bis players only rely on turn and shoot r60.

Just got the Hunter F.1 a few days ago thanks to the economy changes. And this plane has been tormenting me ever since I got the Hunter. Makes it worse that I had not played on over 3 months and I had to learn a completely new playstyle.
I accidentally misread the model name for the MiG-21. I was referring to a different model at a lower br.

@@sanjikunvinsmoke2953 Yeah I am very well aware of that. I have just never really played an interceptor before as I have always been used to fighters that can dogfight such as the Spitfires. So I am finding it very hard to adjust to the interceptor playstyle and do well in games.

@@DarkLighting115 yeah the r60 are still buggy and sometimes dont even pull 10g. And there is no way a 23mm cannon has more drop and less travel speed than a 30mm
@@Boris_The_Turtle The initial velocity if the reason why the NR-30 round is the way it is, and since it retains its energy better due to be a denser projectile, the NR-30 round performs better at longer ranges, but the 23mm should have better damage than it does. Also, no top tier jet should have to get a 25k repair cost unless its proficiency is so high, even at a higher br after being changed, that it makes much more SL than it should which indicates it as being too good to be as popular as it is in the matchmaker.
@@kommandantkillcode I would expect a 23mm to have more similar ballistics to a 20mm, to have slightly worse ballistics but punchier, in game tho they are like .50 cals with horrible drop and accuracy.
@@kommandantkillcode in the rality the 23mm in nr23 gsh23 have the same load of he that yvab 23 on il2 24g equivalen of he not 18g , th velocity should be 715m/s not 690m/s and all the russian guns have low Ammo.
Compared to m61 vulcan or even an/m3 the 23 sucks so much.

Try playing a Zero. Everyone is faster everyone is sturdier, and everyone has better guns. But, in the hands if a skilled pilot that can take advantage of lazy brain dead pilot mistakes, or force a better pilot into a disadvantage and secure a take down there is no better feeling in the game.
However, its pretty easy for smart pilots to exploit the zero and make you feel useless.
I think its best to ignore the Ratings and stop worring about uptier or down tier. Just fly your damn heart out and try to remain calm and calculated.
When you understand that dog fighting is a form of martial art, and you will never truly master it, your losses become lessons to learn from. And most importsnt of all is to have fun.
If a plane or tech tree becomes frustrating to fly try something else, or take a break. Come back with a cool head and try it again.
I love the positivity… but this is top tier, half of it is just luck (aka I didn’t run into 12 guys that just so happened to go left when I was the only one on my team to do so this game vs fuck me rng didn’t spot those 5 jets on my tail 0.01km behind me)

and because of your tin foil you make all bullets over-pen, you can fly back to base without engine from the middle of the map if you have considerable altitude and even though you have no self sealing tanks (except a6m6) you will put every single fire out without losing fuel. You still have better dive speed than russians. Meanwhile you have things like the j7w1 that has worse performance than the fw190 a1... at 6.0.
I'm not trying to be mean to you Sam, but I think you need to write scripts for your videos. A basic one at least. Or write points that you want to make. It would increase the video quality even more.
+1 to this. Your videos are great but a script would help iron out everything you want to say, make each point more concise and help explain each of your actions, your opponent's actions and why they are/arent the best choices to make.
MIG 21 MF/SMT will get flare/chaff next update, maybe they should go to 10.7 at that time
I would still like to see the MF not at the same BR as the SMT but the MF with flares definitely shouldn't be 10.3 anymore either
@@Serkay64 IMO the MF and SMT are close enough that they should just be the same br period with the current br spread. I played the MF a lot when it was top dog with the SMT and I think they're very close in performance and shouldn't be different br's.

The only advantage Mf does have over Smt is the slightly better turn capability.

4 R60's at 10.3 with better flight performance than F1, F1is 17k repair, so what the hell is this????
F1 has Aim 9Ps, which are better overall missiles for top tier, a better gun, and similar maneuverability but worse acceleration and slightly better energy retention. The F1 doesn’t deserve a 17k repair though, and these 21s will likely go back up to 10.7 with the addition of flares to them.

This video really helped me to play the MiG. As a mig main, I hate how the R60s are easily vulnerable to flares and the low depression angle canons (w/ low ammo too) in most migs. Thank you very much for showing your gameplay in this video :D
I guess the SMT has better engine and thrust when compared to the MF variant.
Better thrust higher weight, they’re closely matched, I just hope they go back to 10.7 now that they have flares
Dont forget the smt an bis get r3r sarhms which the MF doesnt get if I'm not mistaken, and that just makes jousting so much easier than trying to gun someone head to head
I just got a great idea! What if we got bonus RP & SL for being uptiered. For example: +10% for 0.3 uptier, +20% for 0.6 uptier and +30% for 1.0 uptier/full uptier. This way there would be people (myself included) who wouldn't mind being uptierd for a chance of gaining more rewards!!! And it would offset the lower RP/SL gain from having a worse performance in uptiered matches.
Good idea, just the values need to be tweaked a bit.
But Gaijin doesn't care - if they did they wouldn't have put the SMT and MF at 10.3 when there's an objectively worse Mirage at 10.7
Almost every vehicle in this game is OP in a downtier and sucks balls in an uptier, I don't get why they would move the MiGs because that's exactly what they were. If they don't want it to face top tier then idk, make max full uptiers 0.6BR and not 1.0? (obv downtiers would go from 1BR to 0.6 as well)

I went to a post from last year, where people complained about there not being enough events. Made a screenshot and posted it in the recent post. It got removed a few minutes later lol. Spitflyer, A tip for the Mig-21, you should go in headons whenever you can, american players dont think migs have headon potential but the 2x23mm are really really good for headons if you hold it down for 1-2 seconds and most of the american phantom players usually just fly straight into your bullets if you headon so I would head on a lot more if I were you

Yeahhhhhh no that's not a good strat. I wouldn't rely on guessing player skill, and too many Phantom pilots actually know to dodge for it to be viable.

what i noticed with fully multiplayer games, is that the devs don't play them. any member of the dev team that played the game would instantly notice the problems that plague it but they don't. they just rely on stats and maybe player feedback. one way to fix this would be to have a team of dedicated testers who play the game all day and provide targeted and professional feedback on key issues and help come up with ideas for solutions
Its been so obvious for so long that if they are going to add better and better machines they need to be prepared to raise the BR ceiling, but they are so stubbornly apposed to it. By the time they finally cave, the people that had been begging all along, like myself, are already gone... it hurts, this used to be my favorite game, now I won't touch it

The F-4E should have a CAA mode that allows Look-down-shoot-down capabilities but gaijin is unaware or hasn't implemented it yet. CAA stands for 'Computer Automated Acquisition' and would actively sort through ground clutter to select the target, and if the target was lost, the computer would automatically attempt to reacquire. In general, the F-4E is still missing out on it's features by a crap ton. For instance, the RWR should be a lot more advanced and actually give readouts. Something akin to what is on DCS. It also has electro optical capabilities.
The only version of F-4 in the game that had E/O equipment was the F-4C, but irl they regularly removed it since it was unreliable.
@@MrUoutthere What I'm referring to though is CAA, F-4Bs and Ns had the ability to do something similarly but only manually by the Rio.
Even still, CAA is only available to Block 48 F-4Es and above. Making it a perfect candidate for the F-4E we have for the U.S. which at a minimum, is a Block 48 aircraft due to CCIP.
We have 10 years worth of development in BR1.0-8.7 and then we have 50 years worth of tech squeezed into 9.0-11.3. Should tell you alot.
If war thunder BR system was literal shit, then it would already be a diamond from the BR compression. But hey, maybe thats how ganjaboob sees it.
hey spit, was in a game with you briefly yesterday. was kinda pissed off at the F-5C who teamkilled you.
Maybe they should look at what they do with helicopters and implement that into the game. So in essence you have multiple game brackets you can choose to play in, with multiple top tiers. So an older bracket where you kind of get a feel of old WarThunder where maybe heat fs isn't available so there is an armor meta and top tier planes ending at the sabre era. Once you have reached the end of a bracket you then have the ability to buy (like with helicopters being able to purchase your first after a rank 5 vehicle is unlocked) into a new bracket that is like reserve planes 2.0. This new bracket is completely separate from the other so you get a split in capability. idk I think it could work though and might benefit from gaijins love of compression.
This obviously would need to be refined but having this basket method might help refine the game.
SMT and MF at 10.3 with flares and 4 R-60s meanwhile my Mirage is 10.7, no RWR, no flares (which it doesnt even need but still), and only 2 magics
I'd take 2 Magics over 4 R-60s any day of the week.

A gamemode with one spawn each, and if you play certain premiums, you will be at a huge advantage.
F4 Venom , boom and zoomer that climbs at 23 m pre second is on a lower battle rating then the P47.

No, I play Ground RB and enjoy the dogfights you can have with the planes.

Gonna be honest, I play the MF and all I've had is full uptiers this entire month, but I know that this is an issue and had those rare games where my team was MiG's against Sabres and Hunters.
But lets be real, biggest issue in War Thunder is the removal of the IJN Akagi from test flight....
Man I feel it! Im already happy that the MF is getting flares.. but tbh the Cl-13 with 15k + repair cost at 9.7, I mean gaijin should review every tech tree... or the MiG19S at 9.7 "ClImB rAtE" wont help against radar guided missiles...

Gaijin hasn't fixed this tiering issue over the years because the intent is to frustrate players into grinding for the top tier aircraft that they keep dying to.
And the best way to do that is with a premium account and a premium plane. That's why we keep getting new BRs and top tier aircraft added without ever decompressing what we have. Moving goalposts = continuous profit

I think people just grinder through the SMT and by the time they got really good with the MiG21 platform they were already spading the Bis. This making the bis seem drastically better.
But in reality I think the SMTs stats didn’t mature like in the same way as the Bis’s

I agree, the harrier can handle anything up to 10.0 right now. It can handle mig-21s, but it has to work for it
Your BR arguments have been there since basically day one.
No wonder it got down tiered based on statistics, it was by far the hardest plane to fly stock (aka without R60s).
And even after the stock missle update the smt and the MF are super painful to stock grind, the bis ain't too horrible cause of the 50 extra rounds and its engine upgrade helps it fight
The SMT has more power while the MF is more maneuverable.
The difference in maneuverability is extremely small while the difference in power is noticeable.
@@liviuganea4108 The difference is big enough that MF will win the dogfight every time if the SMT does not manage to stay airborne long enough to truly benefit from it's additional thrust.
@@calimdonmorgul7206 It's not. I've tested them. If the difference in energy is big enough, then yeah, but if it's within 5%, you won't notice the difference. The SMT will benefit a lot from the thrust. Against an F-5, the SMT is much better due to it's performance.
@@liviuganea4108 It really depends MF will be able to outmaneuver it easier than theSMT would while SMT has a longer breath so to speak. BIS on the other hand can simply bleed the enemies energy and will then be able to sit on the enemies six all day long.

And the thing is, a spaded smt can still get results at 11.0
Actually, biggest problem of this plane are pilots....me in CL13 situation: Pretend to dogfight, let boy show his turning capabilities, do few circles around his slow plane, getting killed by someone else before my hitmaking 50cals can do any damage....

@@Spitflyer I saw that a suggestion was passed to devs, but never actually saw it in patch notes. Also, idk if you saw in the devserver, but both of these planes are getting the SPS-141 flare/chaff pod (64 rounds).
Statistics, which is why F-104 series are way up there in BR in comparison to everything Russian.
I just remember when I faced f4e and new mirage in the SMT and every time getting absolutely annihilated without flares or chaff. I think they may have added flares since then? R60s are good in a surprise situation, but as soon as they know your coming r60s are trash
Meanwhile the Hunter F.6, subsonic, no radar, no flares, and no maneuverability above 1000 kmh BUT 4 SRAAMS 🙃

Gajub effectively made sure that unless you have exceptional 7.0,8.3 and 9.7 you can't grind to top tier.
Recently I've decided to grind out and France and add it to my top tier collection but damn its pain that I would rather play MiG23M in stock. You only have 7.7s that get uptiered against 8.3s and 8.7s(fun to face F86F in Ouragan). Then when you reach 8.3(Mystere IIC) you relize that no matter how good you are it doesn't mater because you face stuff like Su-7BKM that no matter what you can't kill(unless they are 100% braindead).
as an american tree player i had to research an entire row of planes where the AV-8A is at because i just dont wanna use sambres for a year until i get away from sabres if that makes sense
Spit, what do you think of russian planes such as Yak-38, MiG-21PFM, MiG-21F-13. and the Su-7b, at 9.3. In my opinion theese planes are all undertiered, hell sabre same br as a mig21?
Every mig 21 should be 10.0 at least and the yak 28s should be 9.7, the f104 shouldn't be higher than these migs
The su7b is 9.0 now, the bkm is 9.3, the bkl is 9.7
the Harrier is technically worse than the yak38 yet it goes up and the yak38 might go down again which is stupid if they can outturn, outspeed, have better weapons than the harrier but still be at 9.3

8.7-9.3 and 10.3-10.7 are very tough spots right now because you will pretty much only be in uoyiers due to everyone having a 9.3-9.7 premium right now. 10.0 is actually really good bc you'll mostly see downtiers.

My experience in my sabers have been miserable it’s Spawn in and get missiles by supersonic jet wile I’m still rocking 50 cal and all of us are dead in less than 2 min wile other team lost two jets and we will have less than a 30% win rate

I love the bis but with its stupid high rep cost and the fact that all my missiles can be eaten by flares easily I realized that the SMT has a reasonable repair cost and doesnt face flares 100% of the time so now I play it instead.

MiG-21's dont need airbrakes since the whole plane becomes an airbrake when you turn.
