I feel electrically harpooned from my feet and ankles, up my legs and back, and out my mouth. I pace 24/7 at 4 years off Klonopin this month. I’ve got both focal and generalized dystonia and chronic akathisia. I caved at 3 years to an opiate. I’m backing out of it, but I have to try and survive this level of physicality. I was okay for a couple years, but this level of suffering is other level.
I’m feeling torn to pieces by the pacing. My hips are going now that I’m standing so upright. I’ve gone to aqua PT every year and maxed what they would give me. I wrestled for 13 years. I knew how to suffer.
I believe I’m a PANS/PANDAS case. Much of my myoclonus, sleep paralysis predates everything but antibiotics and sickness. I had night terror that slowly turned to horrible awakenings beginning in childhood. I had dystonia symptoms I thought where growing issues. Limping, throwing out my pitching arm, etc I got slammed by fatigue and ME-CFS issues in high school which coincided with a few doozies for sickness. High fever for days. I was crawling on my hands and knees for days as a “healthy” 14 yr old.
My point is, I believe those hurt the worst by meds had auto immune issues going in. Either that, or they were neuro-diverse. That said, I know some people suffering unimaginably 15 yrs, even 27 years out. I’ve suffered the better part of 30 years. I mean… I wasn’t like “this” until my last benzo stoppage, but I suffered for decades trying to treat pain. I had tardive issues coming off Methadone (for pain). I even flapped in a bed for 19 days coming off Oxycontin 20mg tablets.
I get it, that’s not run of the mill for everyone. I had to taper everything. I couldn’t tolerate drinking. The fall off was absolutely miserable. At the same time, I was kind of a “horse” when it came to anything. It took a lot to move the needle but then felt like hell wearing off. Tons of interdose issues with opiates. Same with stimulants. My memory was so bad I tried to use them to push through but felt like a giant cup of coffee gone wrong and I gradually felt roughed up.
I definitely kept pissing the off. I have several significant benzo kindles and I was constantly caving to opiates and then trying to back out. I was always tapering. I’d try something for a 6 months and be tapering it for 2 years. I described this as “something else” with a big benzo injury at the end. Totally unnecessary.

It has been 3 months since I am off xanax after tapering for 5 months.
I have many ups and downs in my symptoms as I had setbacks in my last month.
But for the last 3 days, it's like someone put the plug in the socket and my whole body nerves are jerking, vibrating and feeling severe cold burning sensations. This is so severe that I can't sleep for a minute, if I try to sleep, within seconds I wake up with jerking and extreme surges. I can't understand why I feel so terrible, I can only recall that it all started after I used a strong hand sanitizer ( a bit more in quantity) , 3 days ago.
Is it maybe a reason to exaggerate the symptoms and make the nerves so sensitive?

Dr said OH, just cut it in half 🤬 and then added baclofen which I already told him I couldn't take. Almost died! In the ER within 2 weeks with my intestines completely shut down. Total impacted. No help from their.. emergency phone call to him. He never called me back. Emergency office visit. He does not believe that I'm even in withdrawal. He said it's not possible. That's why he put me on a long-acting. Tried to cut me in half again after I reinstated my dose and it didn't work. And I hollered out what are you doing trying to kill me. And then I gave him the paperwork on BIND. His whole attitude changed. He got mad cuz I knew something he didn't. Wouldn't even look at me. He still believes that I'm not in withdrawal there's something else going on. And he doesn't understand why I want to go through withdrawal when I can be off of it in 3 weeks 😱😲

Yeah.... it's frightening, every single day I lose hope that I will be able to make another day, but with your support and help I pull through.
But what is the reason that after coming off, I experience extreme anxiety and nervousness( it was not of this level during tapering) ? and no breathing technique, no distraction fades it away. It has been a month now since I am off, but the symptoms have increased in intensity and are just impossible to cope with ?( my initial dose was just 0.5 mg of xanax once for sleep, and I tapered it slowly, the symptoms were bad but tolerable)
I feel so scared and lose hope to recover with time.
      Please help.

A great video Jenn. Can I ask a question. I have swelling and pain in two of my fingers. I am seeing a rheumatologist next month. In recents blood test my inflammation markers are very high, hence seeing a specialist. No doubt this Dr will be clueless about bw. ( though I don’t know) . What Im asking if this swelling is just a sxs of bw then would high inflammation markers show up in my blood work? I certainly wouldn’t want to take any medication for it.( My gp thinks it’s RA. ) thank you😊❤,

Many of our lab results can be skewed because of Bwd. They often return to normal as we heal. My right thumb hurt terribly- the knuckle swelled. My doc said it was a ganglion cyst. Wanted to operate. I refused. The pain and swelling went away as I healed. You may have RA. But you may not. Most of us wait until we are more healed to decide if a lab result is a true indication of our health. Of course is something is life threatening- get it treated. ❤

I had a bad reaction to Cymbalta while taking my benzo that caused RA symptoms. I even saw a rheumatologist. It started in my fingers and finally went up my arms. It was very painful and scary. I was told it wasn't a side effect of Cymbalta and to stay on it. I decided to go off anyway and it finally went away. I used to think it was the Cymbalta but I now think it could have been adding it to my Clonazepam. A year off and I notice how other medications interact with benzos in strange ways. Good luck. 🧡

Should we be avoiding Magnesium if we are still dealing with symptoms?

    • @benzowithdrawalhelp
      @benzowithdrawalhelp  Год назад +1

If it revs you and there is no medical reason for it, you may want to avoid it. If you’ve been taking it you may want to consider tapering off. Don’t stop suddenly.

Magnesium helps me. If I don't take it my side effects are way worse. It seems like one supplement that affects us in either a good way or a bad one.

@@pamela9270 magnesium is GABAergic. That may be why it helps with some symptoms. It often revs people up perhaps because it works on GABA. It’s recommended to not stop it quickly if you are taking it. ❤️

I do magnesium soaks in the tub when my muscles hurt … and it helps immensely with the pain and relaxes me to sleep better . I’m only 6 months into my taper off 1 mg Ativan pill I had been on for 20 years .

Most of us asked that they not give a pre-surgery Benzo or during surgery and we asked that a different type of anesthetic be used.
