    Amazing Dodge dealers and manufacturer doing this to the community that put them on the map in the last 10 years. The Mopar community blew this up with hundreds of millions of views on social media and the whole country participated in cars and coffee, auto meets, and drag racing at tracks, Mod2fame, Demonology, RacerX, OC Motivator, and others. I hope it blows up on them. I am never buying an EV either. Tim K. sold us out in this community.

    Personally, I believe that they've forgotten who these cars were initially meant for. It's to my knowledge that they were targeted for us working class ppl to get muscle and horsepower without exotic/foreign prices. They're awesome cars, no doubt, but at the end of the day they're just dodges, and while they sound and feel nice, they're also heavy and kind of dated when you compare to the rest of the car scene that these are going up against.
    Honestly kind of fed up bc the dealers around my house are holding onto *BASE* RT's with their dear lives charging $15k-20k for scat packs and hellcats.
    Hopefully everything cools off but OCM is completely right and I'm glad I was able to realize that it's just a car and that planning for actual life is far more important.

This is downright criminal. I have an awesome dealer that would be happy to sell me any car at sticker but just can't get allocations for any redeye's. And?... If people are willing to pay $50K over retail, frankly they want the car more than you do. It's not like it's some super snaky 'sign the contract without reading it' scam job. They are flat out in the open, this is the markup, it's a hot car, and someone is going to pay it if not you. The dealer could sell it as MSRP and be a 'GoOd DeAlEr', only for whoever buys it to just resell it immediately for the 50K markup. And why wouldn't they? If that is what the market is paying, they would be pretty stupid to not sell it what they just bought for a immediate 60% profit.
      If you could not tell already by the market that was/is paying over new retail for pre-owned cars, boats, motorcycles, etc. A decent percentage of the upper middle class & up had all of their assets significantly jump up in USD value and they have cash to burn.

    • @patrickkrehemker1757
      @patrickkrehemker1757 Год назад

      @@tv321123 The big thing with the mark ups though is that the dealers are buying the cars if they arent already spoken for then immediately reselling the vehicle to someone else without it ever leaving the dealership. Then they are reporting to dodge they sold it for under msrp which allows them to get more allocations and continuing the cycle. At this point they should just allow us to order directly from the manufacturer and have it shipped to our house or to the dealer of our choice. Dealers are just glorified service centers for oil changes and stuff.

    • @tv321123
      @tv321123 Год назад

      @@patrickkrehemker1757 Again...So what? Someone was willing to pay more for the car than MSRP. That is called the free market that brought you the car in the first place. Again, if the dealer was not selling it for a markup, Whoever bought the car from the 'GoOd DeAlEr' that sold it at MSRP is just going to resell it themselves for the instant 60%-100% profit... Any rational person would be pretty stupid NOT to sell something they just bought for a instant 60%-100% profit. Of course the dealer is going to try and capture the extra profit. No dealer in their right mind would sell at MSRP when people are actually paying 2X MSRP. When is the last time you gave a collectable away for a 'fair' price when people were willing to pay twice what your 'fair price is? Did not thing so, never happened.

    Went to a local DCJR dealer today. 2 new 22 REs on the floor, 1 new 23 JBNB non RE, 2 used HCs several scats new and used. There was an absolutely beautiful 22 WBREJB in white knuckle with blue stripes, blue Brembos, Hammerhead interior (BTW...AWESOME!!) loaded up 104K +40k, for a 22! The 23 was a Sublime NBJB the dealer said the owner would keep. The 2 white Knuckle REs one charger one Chally were both special ordered and were not picked up by the customers. The salesman told me it was because of rising rates and market uncertainty. I told him I had an allocated order and was not interested but we talked for 1/2 hour and he told me some interesting things. BTW this is the most informed salesman I have talked to in a while, 20+ years experience. I told him they were crazy asking what they were for the cars in a bad economy with rising rates and this is what he said....
    As a dealer, they do not know if they were getting ANY muscle cars from Mopar next year, and if they did it would be the Banshee. Until now, that same dealer has had the opportunity to sell Chargers, Challys, HCs, REs, SSs, Scats etc. Now their inventory for the next couple years will be limited to one model that is at best controversial and at the worst an LOL joke. This particular dealer said they were willing and able to hold on to what they had, continue to charge huge ADMs in order to make up for the $$ they will lose having nothing to sell to ICE buying customers. They have a plan to have ICE inventory for a while. I don't like it, but I get it and it is actually probably a good business plan. SO....Final point...
    Don't be pissed at the dealers alone. It is Dodge that has done this, not only to us as consumers by not managing their dealers ADMs, but also to the dealers by discontinuing one of their perennial best sellers because they did not prepare for the day when CAFE standards would catch up to them. The dealers are now in survival mode, not necessarily out of greed, but out of survival. Lets face it.....Dodge FUC73D us all.....

    The dealership in my town said that when you order a car there is no markup and I got my car at msrp (before taxes and reg of course), but I got a wide body scatpack with damn near every option. When I asked about hellcat prices to build they said they have an automatic 15k markup regardless of how you buy it. The odds of finding the one dealership selling a hellcat at msrp is like winning the Mega lottery. You may as well buy 3 hellcats at that point 🤣

    Let me tell you guys a little something! Let’s think back to 2015-2017 when alllll the hype was on the hellcats. Now, around the end of 2019, I was looking for a hellcat. Around that time, the rage had died off. Hellcats wasn’t in music videos or all over RUclips. I could easily find used hellcat challengers years 2015-2017 (under 20k miles) from anywhere between 38k-47k. How is that you say?
    Because I ended up getting a 2016 challenger 1 owner with 15k miles for 39,999 in Paduca, KY right up the street from Murray St! I say all of that to say it only took 2.5 years from all the rage to the bottom on things like this. Now obviously The pandemic made things stupid lol. Just wanted to tell that little story to put things in perspective.

    I’m more financially able to get the car I actually want now, but the hassle of dealerships is what stops me. And I know it’s much worse now with markups and “inventory issues”. Really want a SP or Hellcat widebody, but I may just sit out and keep my old truck to avoid the headache of dealerships…

      That's exactly right. When I ordered mine they said there was no markup. But they had one with less options and a different color than mine that was marked up 10k because it was lot inventory. I guess it's because your technically not buying it from the dealership, but rather buying it directly from dodge, and the dealer is acting more like a middle man for the process
