"news" stations need to be required to cleary label shows "opinion" just the way news papers had the "editorial" - I think TV news should keep the word "opinion" on the screen for the duration of the piece. Most people don't have Shepard's ability to tell what is fact and what is hype.
The Problem is not the media as much as it is social media. Most kids (25 and under) don't watch mainstream news. You could argue that most others don't either. Twitter, RUclips and Facebook is what the new generation turn to to get ''news''. But you are right, new outlets do take liberties with what they call news. Both sides are guilty of it.
People should be required to determine for themselves what is opinion? I sure don't need you or the government telling me what to believe. I believe examine the information presented and make my own decisions. You should try it. It's called freedom.
"News" networks that are only about propaganda (Fox NEWS network, NEWSmax, One America NEWS Network) and aren't registered as a news network (they're all registered with the FCC as Entertainment Networks) should not be allowed to use the word/term "News" in their channel name. Fox News would have to become "Fox Opinion". One America could just drop "News" and call themselves "One America Network". Newsmax would completely have to change their name. And people in the country need to critically think.
Remember that a judge in the case with Tucker Carlson actually sided with him actually stating that anyone in their right mind wouldn't believe anything he said. No, you won't. He's FIRED.
"news" stations need to be required to cleary label shows "opinion" just the way news papers had the "editorial" - I think TV news should keep the word "opinion" on the screen for the duration of the piece. Most people don't have Shepard's ability to tell what is fact and what is hype.
I can't really respect him because he's still doing the same thing but for the other side now.
And if they still pose as a news network, running newscasts that spew propaganda, pull their license.
@@jidic1845 the problem is that the news media presents opinions as news... I don’t mean they need to do this by law.. it should be the ethical thing to do
