Working In The Lettuce Bed

It was time to harvest from the lettuce bed. I harvested dill leaves, basil, chives, bronze fennel, and celery. I dried all the harvest and look forward to using it in future meals. I removed some zinnias and transplanted some of the lettuce seedlings. It was too hot though, and the seedlings didn’t make it. I didn’t realize it felt over 100 degrees! Yikes! It’s also too hot for the lettuce to grow properly, so I’ll let it bolt and save the seed. In a couple of months, I can plant lettuce again in this bed when it’s a lot cooler.
